Today is just like any other day here at IST High School. Where students come to school to learn, have fun and get into trouble. However, not everyone looked forward to it. As the class is close to finishing, Sunwoo begins to finish writing down his notes that could help in his revision.
“Class dismissed. You all can go now,” The teacher said as the students began to pack their things and leave the classroom.
“Eric, wake up. Class is over.” Sunwoo said while tapping on him.
“What did I miss in class? I slept through the whole lesson,” Eric groaned as he began orienting his surroundings.
“You missed a lot of things. Don’t worry, I will give you my notes later,” Sunwoo reassured the younger.
“I knew I could count on you,”
The duo then proceeded to leave the classroom and head to their respective lockers to put their books in since it would offload their school bags.
“Sunwoo! Eric!” A voice called out which made the duo look behind to see who called them.
“Haknyeon Hyung!” Eric greeted as he waved at the said person who was walking over to the two of them. Their classrooms are close to each other too.
Sunwoo stood there, looking like he was being frozen. You may be wondering why. He has feelings for Haknyeon. Whenever he talks to him, he always gets nervous and gets into a blushing mess. You could say that he’s whipped.
“Hey, Eric and Sunwoo.” Haknyeon greeted the duo.
“Hi, Hyung,” Sunwoo replied while letting out a tiny giggle.
“You’re cute,” Haknyeon muttered to himself. He has a crush on Sunwoo too. But is unaware that Sunwoo likes him back.
“Anyways, Sangyeon Hyung is waiting for us. Let’s go before he starts complaining like a dad,”
The trio then walked down to the cafeteria which is where Sangyeon is at.
“I was wondering where the three of you went. I almost thought you three abandoned me,” He said while pouting at the trio.
“There’s no way we would abandon you Hyung,” Sunwoo replied.
“Like what he said Hyung. I won’t abandon my one and only lover,” Eric added while hugging Sangyeon.
“Aww you’re so cute,” Sangyeon replied while returning the hug before letting go of the hug.
“Get a room you two,” Haknyeon said as he looked away from the duo.
“That’s making me want to throw up, to be honest,” Sunwoo added.
“It’s not like you two have been in a relationship before.” Eric’s reply makes the both of them blush like crazy.
“Why are the two of you blushing? Do you two perhaps like each other?” Sangyeon gave a suspicious look to the duo.
“We are just friends only,” Sunwoo said while trying to stop himself from blushing.
“Yeah. Nothing more than that,” Haknyeon added as he covered his cheeks to hide his blush.
“I think they like each other but are scared to admit it,” Eric whispered to Sangyeon.
“I agree with you,” Sangyeon whispered back to Eric.
“Anyways, let’s go back before the gate closes,” He said to the three of them who nodded at him.
The four of them then proceed to walk to the school gate before walking out of the school.
“Do you guys want to meet up for dinner later?” Haknyeon asked the trio. The four of them are quite close to each other and would always hang out after school and even during the holidays.
“That’s fine with me,” Sunwoo replied, giving a smile.
“But who is going to pay? I’m broke as hell, to be honest,” Eric’s response made all of them look at each other before turning to Sangyeon.
“Hyung, can you treat us to dinner please?” Haknyeon asked Sangyeon, hoping that the older would say yes.
“I’m gonna be broke soon you know?” Sangyeon replied with a disapproved look.
“Come on Hyung. It’s been a while since we last ate dinner together,” Eric said, trying to convince Sangyeon.
“It’s still a no,” The older replied.
“Please Hyung?” Eric then gives a puppy-eyed look as he proceeds to pout. He knew that would change Sangyeon’s mind.
Sangyeon eventually changes his mind the moment Eric shows his puppy eyes expression.
“Alright fine… Just this once,”
“I knew that would work on you!” Eric exclaimed in happiness.
Sunwoo couldn’t help but smile at them. He wished that he could do the same thing to Haknyeon.
“Uhh… we are still here you know?” He said, trying to divert them back to the topic.
“Right, I almost forgot about it,”
“They look like they are destined to be together,” Haknyeon whispered to Sunwoo.
“I know right? They will probably get married soon,” Sunwoo whispered back to Haknyeon.
“Anyways Haknyeon, do you mind meeting at my house at 5 PM?” Sangyeon asked.
“Sure. Why not,” Haknyeon nodded in approval.
“Sunwoo, same thing but at my house,” Eric said to his friend of the same age.
“Fine with me,” Sunwoo replied.
The four of them then proceed to walk back home.
Time skip to 5 PM…
At Eric’s house…
“Ding dong!” The doorbell rang.
“Coming!” Eric said as he walked over to the living room before opening the door which revealed Sunwoo who was waiting outside.
“You’re here! Come with me,” He then grabbed Sunwoo by the hand and dragged him to his room.
“What’s the rush for?” Sunwoo asked, giving a confused look to the younger.
“I’m giving you a makeover,” Eric said which made Sunwoo even more confused.
“I’m not a girl. Why do I need a makeover?”
“Not as in a full makeover. I’m talking about your looks,”
“Are you saying that I’m ugly?” Sunwoo gave an offended look.
“No! I don’t mean that!” Eric tries to clear the mini misunderstanding.
“What I meant is that I’m gonna apply makeup and style your hair for you,”
“What for?”
“You know, to win over Haknyeon Hyung’s heart.”
“If you are going to make things worse, I’m not gonna forgive you,” Sunwoo said, feeling sceptical about it.
“I won’t. Don’t worry. You will be thanking me afterwards,” Eric replied as he started to enhance Sunwoo’s look.
Meanwhile at Sangyeon’s house...
“So what am I doing here again?” Haknyeon asked, having no idea of what was going on.
“I’m going to give you a slight makeover in terms of your hairstyle,” Sangyeon replied.
“What for?”
“That’s for you to find out.”
Haknyeon then nodded since he knew that he was not going to get any answers from Sangyeon.
Back at Eric’s house…
“And we are done. Look at the mirror. You look different,” Eric said, giving Sunwoo a mirror.
Sunwoo opened his mouth in shock. He looks like a whole new different person with makeup on along with a hairstyle which is gelled up with a little bit of hair wax.
“I look like a whole new person here! Thanks, Eric! I knew I could count on you,” Sunwoo exclaimed, smiling in happiness.
“No problem. Anything for my best friend,” Eric smiled back.
“Oh yeah, could you perhaps help me with something?” Sunwoo said to Eric.
“Sure. What’s up?”
“I’m planning to confess to Haknyeon.”
Sunwoo's response makes Eric shocked.
“Really?”
“Yeah, but I’m scared. What if he rejects me? He will probably hate me because of that. If that happens, I will never forgive myself,” Sunwoo’s voice begins to waver in fear with tears threatening to spill.
“Hey hey, I’m sure Hyung won’t reject you or hate you. He will understand,” Eric said, trying to reassure Sunwoo.
“I hope so…” Sunwoo muttered to Eric.
“It’s okay. I got your back,” Eric smiled.
Time skip to 6 PM…
“Don’t think too much about it okay? It will be fine,” Eric reassured, patting Sunwoo's shoulder.
“Yeah. What could go wrong?” Sunwoo replied, trying to lighten up the mood.
The two of them are walking over to this place called Cre.Ker Cafe which is near IST High School. Walking near the entrance, they met Sangyeon and Haknyeon who were waiting for them.
“Hey, you two. Made it just in time,” Sangyeon greeted while waving. The two of them greeted each other in return.
“Wow Sunwoo, you look different!” Haknyeon said, admiring Sunwoo’s appearance.
“Thanks, Hyung,” Sunwoo blushed at Haknyeon’s compliment.
Sunwoo and Haknyeon started to walk into the cafe but noticed that Sangyeon and Eric were still standing where they were.
“Are you guys coming along?”
Sangyeon and Eric then look at each other before turning back to Sunwoo and Haknyeon.
“This dinner meetup is kinda for the two of you only,” Sangyeon told the duo.
“Wait, what?” Sunwoo gave a confused look.
“We will explain it later on. For now, you two enjoy yourselves,”
“Enjoy your date you two!” Eric added while giggling as he and Sangyeon waved at the duo.
Sangyeon and Eric begin to walk away from the cafe, going to a nearby area.
“So it’s the two of us now,” Sunwoo said, as he proceeded to walk into the cafe with Haknyeon following behind him.
“Yep. It’s been a while since we had our own meetup,” Haknyeon replied.
The two of them then found a table and sat down afterwards. They then look at the menu afterwards.
“I’m honestly spoiled for choice. There are so many options to choose from,” Sunwoo said as he continued to look at the menu.
“I agree with you. Thankfully Sangyeon Hyung is kind enough to pass me his debit card so feel free to order anything you want,” Haknyeon replied as he showed Sunwoo the debit card.
“I wasn’t expecting Hyung to treat us to dinner, to be honest,”
“Thankfully, we have Eric to convince him,”
“Anyways, should we order now?” Sunwoo asked as he looked at Haknyeon to get a response.
“Yeah, sure.” Haknyeon nodded as he proceeded to call for a waiter to come over.
Meanwhile with Eric and Sangyeon…
“Do we really have to wait for them until they are done?” Sangyeon asked as he looked through the window of the cafe from outside.
“I want to know what’s happening. I need to know if they are going to confess to each other or not,” Eric replied with hopes that the dinner would go well.
“Alright. Whatever you say…” Sangyeon nodded at Eric’s reply.
Time skip…
“That was honestly one of the best meals I have had in my life,” Haknyeon said as he settled the bill at the cashier before walking out of the cafe.
“Absolutely. Let’s eat there again sometime.” Sunwoo replied while smiling at Haknyeon.
The two of them then decided to walk to the nearby park.
“So, how’s life?” Haknyeon asked, trying to cut off the awkward silence.
“Life’s going well for me. How about you?”
“When I first came to Seoul on my own, it was kinda like a challenge for me. You’re like really on your own. You have to manage everything by yourself. But as time flies by, you get the hang of it.”
Sunwoo then nodded at Haknyeon’s reply. He knew that the older had to leave Jeju Island just to pursue his studies.
“Do you ever wonder, how your parents are doing back at home?”
Haknyeon took a few seconds to think before answering Sunwoo’s question.
“It’s been a while since I last contacted them. Not because I don’t want to but you know, school is starting to get hectic now with exams coming in.”
The both of them continued to walk around the park while enjoying the atmosphere. It wasn’t long until Sunwoo decided to break the silence.
“Hyung, I have something to tell you.”
“Go ahead. What’s going on in your mind?”
“Please don’t be mad at me. I’m still the same person you had known for the past few years,”
“There’s no way I could ever get mad at you. I won’t judge with what you are going to say,”
Sunwoo then took a deep breath before he started his confession to Haknyeon. He hopes that this won’t break their friendship. He even started to feel his hands trembling in fear.
“I… I like you, Hyung. As in more than just a friend,”
The both of them stopped walking and looked at each other. Haknyeon was shocked because he didn’t know that Sunwoo liked him.
“I’m sorry. I gotta go,” Feeling embarrassed, Sunwoo proceeds to walk away from the scene with tears threatening to spill out.
“Sunwoo, wait!” Before he could even leave, Haknyeon went forward and stopped him from walking out. Sunwoo feels ashamed to look at him.
“I’m in love with you too,” Haknyeon’s response made Sunwoo surprised. Tears then spill out of his eyes.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Is it something that I said?” Haknyeon gave a concerned look to the younger.
“No, it’s not you. It’s just that I don’t deserve you. I’m just letting my feelings take control of me,” Sunwoo replied, trying to muffle his whimper. His tears keep flowing out of his eyes. Haknyeon immediately embraces the younger in a hug.
“Don’t say that. Sometimes you just can’t control your feelings. Be yourself. No one will judge you on who you are.” Haknyeon whispered in his ear as he let go of the hug.
“I like you Sunwoo. More than anything. Would you like to be my boyfriend?” This makes Sunwoo to be elated.
“Yes! I will be your boyfriend!” He replied as they both went to hug each other again.
“I promise you, that I won’t let anyone hurt you,” Haknyeon said as he caressed Sunwoo’s cheeks.
“Thank you. Haknyeon Hyung.” Sunwoo smiled at the older as he let go of the hug.
“I gotta wipe my tears first. It probably ruined the makeup that Eric has put on for me,”
Haknyeon then took out a handkerchief and gave it to Sunwoo. He then removes his glasses and wipes his tears.
“Woah, you look cuter with your glasses off. You’re like a raccoon to be honest,”
“I get that from a lot of people,” Sunwoo replied, giggling. He then put his glasses on and gave the handkerchief back to Haknyeon.
“Did I ever tell you the way you smile is refreshing? It makes me want to squeal and hug you,”
“Is it? In that case, I will make sure that I will smile every day just to see you go head over heels for me,”
“I might get a heart attack at this point,” Haknyeon let out a giggle at Sunwoo’s reply.
“I’m glad that I met you, Kim Sunwoo.”
“I’m glad that I met you too, Ju Haknyeon,”
“This is day one of our relationship. Let’s help each other out and look out for one another,” Haknyeon said, as he proceeded to give a kiss on Sunwoo’s cheek.
“Only a kiss on the cheek? What about my lips?” Sunwoo gave a pout to Haknyeon.
“Alright, I will kiss it too,” The both of them proceed to kiss each other on their lips as they embrace each other in their warmth. Not caring that they are in public.
“I love you, Sunwoo,”
“I love you too, Haknyeon,”
Their intimate moment was interrupted when they heard a person sobbing. They turn to find Eric who is crying, and Sangyeon who is recording the moment on his smartphone.
“How long have you two been standing there?” Haknyeon asked.
“The whole time,” Sangyeon replied.
“This is one of the best confessions I have seen in my entire life,” Eric said as he wiped his tears off with a tissue paper.
“You’re too emotional, Eric,” Sunwoo replied.
“I got the footage all on my phone and I have just posted it on Instagram,” Sangyeon then showed the two of them the post which is going viral with likes flowing in.
“Hyung! I don’t want the whole world to know about us!” Sunwoo let out a whine.
“It’s OK. Let them know that I’m yours,” Haknyeon replied to Sunwoo.
“I have also sent it to our friends group too,” Sangyeon then showed the message in the group chat which consisted of the four of them along with seven other people in it. (the other TBZ Members)
“I guess I’m going to have to deal with them teasing us,” Haknyeon added.
“We are not going to hear the end of it,” Sunwoo replied.
“Not to be rude but, I think we should head back home now. It’s getting kinda late,” Eric told the duo.
“Yeah, let’s go home,” The four of them then proceed to walk out of the park. Haknyeon and Sunwoo held hands with each other as they walked together.
“Let’s go out on a date again sometime,” Sunwoo suggested to Haknyeon.
“I will be more than happy to go out on a date with you again,”
They then got interrupted by the sound of a camera snap. They look behind to see Eric snapping a picture of them holding hands.
“Sohn Youngjae, I’m going to kill you!” Sunwoo exclaimed as he went to chase Eric who was running from him.
“Sangyeon Hyung help me!” Eric screamed as he went over to Sangyeon and clung to him.
“You’re on your own this time kid,” Sangyeon replied as he tried to remove Eric’s hold on him.
“Sunwoo, it’s OK. I still have Hyung’s debit card,” Haknyeon said, as he calmed Sunwoo down.
“Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that,”
“There goes my money again..” Sangyeon whined as he tried to take his card back from Haknyeon.
“Fine, here you go.” Haknyeon then give his card back to him.
The four of them then started to walk back home and say their goodbyes to each other. Haknyeon and Sunwoo are happy with today’s event as their love for each other deepens. Let their relationship blossom with love.
