Chapter Text
Her mother was nervous, Lyra could feel it.
Narcissa had tied a bow in her hair for the millionth time.
She sighed, but let her mother get on with it.
—Cissy, leave the girl alone, she needs some time. (Her father asked nicely)
—I'm sorry, dear. (Her mother asked with a soft smile.)
—It's okay, Mom. I love it when you style my hair. (Lyra said and held her mother's hand, placing a soft kiss.)
His mother smiled and kissed his forehead softly and went over to Draco to help him with his clothes and hair.
Lyra shook her head negatively with a smile. His father also shook his head, but continued to read the daily prophet.
The Family's trial would be that afternoon, the odds were in Lyra and Narcissa's favor.
They would suffer no penalties.
But Lucius and Draco on the other hand.
Of course your mother's act smooths things out.But would they forgive the wrongdoings of their father and brother?
Of course, Draco was young and they probably released him, saying he was forced. But what about your father?
Lyra's eyes remained on Lucius, the man probably felt or read her thoughts.
He dropped the newspaper and slapped his leg.Lyra quickly walked over to him and sat on his lap, as she did when she was little and had nightmares.
—Idon't want to lose you, Dad.(She whispered in the man's ear) right now that you're back.
—You have me, with all your heart, since the time You was born. (He whispered in her ear) I love you, I love you all. (he told his wife and son)It's okay, it's going to be okay.
She nodded and snuggled up against him.Soon she felt her mother's hands in her hair and her soft weight at her side (She had probably sat on the arm of the armchair, being embraced by Lucius with his free arm)
Draco came over and kissed his sister's head and hugged his mother. It could be the last time they were all in the same room together.
She loved them and didn't want to lose them.It didn't matter what they had done
The four of them arrived at the ministry of magic the way they always arrived at places: Haughty, powerful, and not even the shadow of the broken family they were a few minutes away.
Lucius and Narcissa walked ahead arm in arm, while Lyra and Draco followed behind. They held hands like on the day of the final battle at Hogwarts.
Draco's hand was the only thing that kept her sane.
After long hours of interrogation and more interrogation, it was the turn of the accused to give their version of the facts.
Of course they had said they had not spoken. But Lyra had changed her mind.
—We called Lyra Cassiopeia Malfoy to testify.
She took a deep breath and walked over to the designated spot. With her eyes staring at her parents and brother, she began to speak:
—What I'm going to say here won't change what happened, but it will shed some light on why it happened.(She took another deep breath) My name is Lyra and this is my view of events...
