Chapter Text
Once upon a time, there were two brothers.
The oldest, powerful and cunning, was known everywhere in the Underground.
They called him All For One.
His name was Hisashi.
The youngest, weak and kind, was locked away from the world by the oldest.
His name was Yoichi.
This is what quite a few people know.
This is the story of All For One and One for All.
But what if this is not actually correct?
---
Once upon a time, there were three brothers.
All For One, the oldest.
Yoichi, the youngest.
And Izuku, the one in between.
Izuku, the middle child, was the perfect balance between the oldest and the youngest.
He was powerful, but kind.
He was cunning, but never deceiving.
He was the one that kept the peace between them.
The three brothers balanced each other out perfectly.
Izuku's quirk, however, was something even more special than All For One.
Even more powerful, though he did not care about power and control like the oldest.
Izuku was able to *make* quirks.
Out of the first sunlight of the day and the last sunlight before nightfall, he made an immortality quirk.
Out of the loud cry of a young bird that flew for the first time, he made a quirk that gave him wings at will.
Out of the dying embers of a campfire, he made a fire quirk as powerful as the sun.
And every time he finished the long and delicate process that is crafting a quirk, and the new quirk settled into his core between his other ones, waiting to be used, Izuku was content.
Izuku liked the feeling of a job well done.
His brothers knew of his abilities, but they never really understood how powerful Izuku was.
They never understood that he did not create quirks for power, but simply for the sake of creation.
They never really understood his quirk at all.
Izuku never told them about a newly made quirk and they never asked.
Still, Izuku was always on the search for inspiration for a new quirk.
But one day, the oldest brother wanted Izuku to make powerful quirks for him.
He saw Izuku's Quirk not as a form of art, as a passion, but as a weapon waiting to be used.
Izuku refused.
The art of making quirks could not be forced. Sometimes, it could take months to get the inspiration for a new quirk.
Izuku did not want to get pressured into making quirks without inspiration.
The results would be disastrous.
All For One, however, did not understand the repercussions of forcing quirks into the world.
In a desperate attempt to keep the oldest brother from making an irreversible mistake, Izuku hid himself in a forest.
He did not want to leave his brothers, but he knew that he could not stay with them. His older brother would not back down until he got what he wanted.
Izuku went to a forest that was far away from civilisation to escape his brother's attempts at bringing him back home, with only his quirks to make being alone easier.
His only contact with living beings were the wild animals in the forest he would talk to (a Quirk inspired by the first *meow* of a kitten).
He ate the fruits and vegetables he would grow while walking across a clearing (inspired by a beautiful cherry blossom of a cherry tree).
Izuku missed his brothers, but it was for the best.
