Beyond Paradise: Not Heaven Nor Earth

Summary:

When Adam does not appeared at the Pearly Gate nor anywhere else, it was assumed that his soul was lost

They did not considered he could be snatched away, hidden in twisting roots

Notes:

The new part of the Beyond Paradise series just gave me a bout of inspiration I though to share

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Deep in a place Not Heaven Nor Earth, shadows writhe and crawl like living vines with no destination in mind, creating an indiscernible sound, the only sound in this dark, forsaken realm, so dark it let no light escapes. The source of these inky roots lay waken were it had borrowed into the core of Creation, disinterestly watched as events unfold, heralding the failure of project Eden.

Roo, as-it-is-but-not-known, is indifferent, it does not care, it just is.

With Eve wandering the surface of the place Not Heaven Nor Earth and Lilith barren, the Embodiment of Evil, while its roots had sunken deep into Creation, still remain trapped in the realm that form around it.

A light grunt break the Entity out of its detached musing, turning its attention on to itself, where its body of tendrils lay.

In the coils of unforgiving dark lies the nude form of a man, the First Man to be exact. Ropes of pitched black weight the man down, keeping him trapped and entangled in its dark mass, but the thing that catches the eyes if one was to look was the resplendent wings of gold first carefully cradle by tendrils to keep the delicate feathers from being caught in the moving feelers.

Heavy vine-like roots crawls over the man, entangling itself with his limbs as it weight him down, refusing to let him go and yet, they were neither harsh nor restricting. Firm and confining, yes, but careful and gentle, applying just enough pressure to hold him, to feel the weight but easily shift away as the man twist and turn to get more comfortable.

Adam, for his part, was confused. What's happening? Where is he?

This doesn't feel like the cool, grassy plain where he would usually rest nor the soft warmth of when he would lain with his animal friends, it wasn't bad or cumbersome. The long, thick and seemingly limbless bodies remind him of great pythons but instead of the feel of scales and the coolness of a coldblooded creature, it was smooth and warm, moving with his body in a way that was almost as if it was trying to keep him comfortable, to lull him back to sleep.

And it was working

Caught between sleep and wake, Adam couldn’t bring himself to open his eyes but the odd pressure on his back was pushing him toward the waking world, unconsciously trying to flap his new wings. Thick coils move away from the pair of wings, leaving room for thinner tendrils curl up to the man new limbs, from base to tip, delicately moving to avoid any pressure on the golden feathers, golden glow unreflecting on the shadowy mass.

The tendrils worked with meticulous care, their movements almost loving. They curled around the base of his wings, sliding along the feathered skin before delicately smoothing the lines of each feather. It was a sensation that was foreign yet pleasant. Despite the oddity of the situation, Adam found himself relaxing into the gentle ministrations, his mind drifting back to dreamless slumber.

As Adam was once again lost to the world, cradled in the soft embrace of oblivion, the tendrils persist in their work, continuing to wrap themselves around his wings with a gentle touch, stroking and caressing the feathers. It was as if the creature was trying to soothe him, using ministrations it copied from watching the holy creatures above. His eyes heavy, the weight of the world - or rather, the lack thereof - slip away from his shoulders. His breathing grew deep and even, matching the rhythmic pulse of the shadowy mass surrounding him.

Before the depth of dreamless sleep claim him once more, Adam murmured a single word, a muted sound that was almost inaudible at mid the quiet cacophony of moving roots.

“… mom,”

From the shadow of its body, a pitch black hand emerge, moving toward and placing itself on to fluffy, brown locks before moving down to his cheek, and once more the noiseless plain of existence was grace with sound once more,

“Go back to sleep, Adam. The sun hasn’t rise yet and you’ll have a busy day when you wake up,” coaxed a voice indistinguishable from that of the Seraph named Seraphiel.

The Entity, named Roo, does not know why it did that

When the man, known as Adam, left his mortal vessel and flew away from Earth, it snatched the ascending soul before it could reached the Gate of Heaven and brought him deep into the core of its realm.

It did not know why it did that

As it carefully carry him down into its core, it used its power to send the now angel fast to sleep as it took away the halo the moment it was form, recalling how angels from Above would use it to call to others from far away.

It did not know why it did that

Tentacle-like roots bend and soften, becoming warm to the touch, attentively tending to the captured angel, making sure he is secure and as comfortable as can be. Tendrils carefully massage and preen the wings on his back, carefully swallowing up the dazzling light as it worked to relax and pamper these new appendages.

It did not know why it did that

When Adam called out for the figure he deemed his mother, it had mimic that voice and performed an act of affection upon him even though it had known that Adam was deep in the state of rest, unable to perceive or react to such gesture

It did not know why it did that

It didn’t know why it did any of that

Roo just wanted to and so it did

The Entity rippled, shadowy roots twisting together, fusing and coalescing in a mesmerizing dance forming a large, amorphous blob that began to take on a discernible shape. The blob grew taller, wider, and more defined, stretching and morphing into something that resembled the female form, albeit with a terrifying grandeur that could only belong to something from Outside. The air rippling as roots figure out its new shape while others carefully rearrange the sleeping man.

Eventually, the blob grew arms and legs, a torso and a neck, and finally, a head with no discernible features other than ominous red eyes that pierced through the darkness. Considerable amounts of mass swelled in the upper torso of Roo, taking form of full, voluptuous bosom before drooping slightly, implying softness and malleability. The coils that hold Adam captive, moved him into the grasp of the now woman, not letting go of its captive even as it merge with the form, becoming great tresses resembling flowing mane of hair.

Roo settles into the body of a humanoid-ish shape of the feminine kind, taking size into consideration, she makes it so that she would dwarf him such as the Seraph did to him. The giantess leaned back, cradling Adam against its chest, nestling his head in her cleavage, the soft mounts serving as pillow while large arms circled his body in a tight, protective embrace, the warmth of her new form enveloping him completely

For the first time since the dawn of her existence, Roo felt a semblance of emotion, a whisper of something that grew louder with each passing moment. As she gazed down upon the sleeping First Man, she felt a bond that she could not understand or explain, but it was there, unyielding and undeniable.

The giantess shifted slightly, adjusting her grip on Adam, ensuring that he was perfectly positioned for his slumber. The shadows around them grew still, as if they were holding their breath, afraid to disturb the peace that had settled over the pair.

Roo does not understand the hold that Adam has on her

But she is patience and she has an eternity to figure out why

An eternity together, alone with her Adam, that doesn’t sound bad at all.

the tittle and summary is shit but, honestly, I stop caring when I realized I been rewriting the tittle for haft an hour
