[Video transcript: Kyodo News interview with Hinata Shouyou, JNT Opposite Hitter, and Kozume Kenma, Bouncing Ball Ltd. and Hinata’s Sponsor]
Interviewer: So, Kozume-san, when and why did you decide to sponsor Hinata-senshu, even through out the Olympics again?
Kozume: Well, uh, he was one of my closest friends in high school, he’s interesting. I like watching him play, so I sponsor him so he can keep playing, if he gets borning I’ll stop. [he looks bored and a bit uncomfortable.]
Interviewer: Ah I see, so you two have been friends for how long then?
Hinata: Oh Kenma and I have been friends for what like almost 15 years now I think it is I’m not sure, I’m not very good at maths. [all three laugh lightheartedly] But we became best friends straight away, there wasn’t ever really any awkward point, we met on a road in Tokyo and have been best friends ever since.
Kozume: You make it sound like I was standing in the middle of the road.
Hinata: Okay so we met when Kenma was sat on a wall by a road because we [Karasuno High School boys volleyball team] were in Tokyo for a practice match and we were playing against his team but I didn’t know it at the time and he let me talk to him. Is that more accurate for you? [he is clearly joking around, Kozume does not seem to find it funny]
Kozume: Now you’re just making me sound sad [he does smile a little at this so I assume he doesn’t mind much]
Interviewer: Wow you two really are like twin flames. So Kozume, how come you are not sponsoring other people from the monster generation? We know you went to high school with many of them and they are all very talented players, so was it only Hinata that caught your attention?
Kozume: [he seems to think on his answer for a bit] I can’t really be bothered to sponsor anyone else, the only other person I would sponsor doesn’t play anymore and wouldn’t let me sponsor them even if they did so, I don’t see much point.
Interviewer: Oh who would this mysterious other player be then? Do we know them or were they someone who never went pro at all? [Hinata looks like he keeps trying to say something here but keeps quiet]
Kozume: I played volleyball with them all my life, so people might know them, depending on how much they stalk me. [he smirks slightly here and it is clear that this is the end of that line of questions]
Interviewer: Okay moving on, so…

Kuroo Tetsurou wasn’t a jealous man by nature. He really wasn’t, especially in relationships. Sure he was protective of all those he cared about, he had to be, but he was not jealous.
He and Kenma had always had a secure relationship, that came with years of being best friends, years of being the only ones to fully understand each other.
Their relationship as it was now was simply an evolved version of their friendship that had started over 20 years ago now, they were in love and it had simply grown and developed as they had gotten older. They were practically soulmates.
So there was really no need for him to be jealous…
“Have you seen the comments on Chibi-chan and your interview?” he asked, trying for nonchalance and hoping it worked.
They were sat in Kenma’s games room, a new battle game on the TV. Kuroo was simply watching as Kenma worked trying to defeat the highest-ranking boss of the level he was working on. He enjoyed watching Kenma play, he’d done it for years, but he always enjoyed watching the concentration in his eyes.
It stayed there throughout their conversation but it didn’t make him feel anything but love for the man.
“No. Don’t look at comments, they’re never good, why?” Kenma didn’t look away from the screen and his voice remained neutral but Kuroo, from years of time spent listening to his best friend, could hear the slight concern and interest in the blonde’s voice.
“Oh, just some people have opinions, but you know it’s that the internet.” he laughed. He played it off, well he hoped, it wasn’t really that big of a thing. He didn’t care who knew about his and Kenma’s relationship, he’d seen the comments while he was streaming, and it wasn’t important to him ever. Kenma was his and he knew that. He knew that.

Okay I know everyone has been excited about the KodzuHina interview (me too aaa) so I’ve made a list of links to things I think that every KudzuHina shipper should have seen!!First of all, we know that Hinata and Kodzuken have been friends since highschool so I found the videos of some of their high school volleyball matches. There is the 2013 and the 2014 matches, they’ve got some cool KodzuHina moments and just more content of them both which is cool!
If you want to see more of KodzuHina playing volleyball together then this is a video of their 2v2 beach volleyball in Brazil (very sweaty Kozume! I’ve definitely rewatched it plenty of times! Hinata also looks pretty good haha)I’ve found some compilations of Hinata on Kodzuken’s streams on tiktok and first youtube compilation and second youtube compilation they’re really cute and although you can’t see both of them in all of the clips you can feel how much they love each other in their voices alone

“I’m trying to, it’s just not working!” he complained to Bokuto over the phone.
He had expected his feelings to go away, or at least not become such an issue as they had. Again, he wasn’t a jealous person at all, but the fact that people were now so convinced that Hinata Shouyou and his boyfriend were together that they were writing fanfictions of them? It didn’t make him feel great, and he really didn’t like that about himself.
“You know you could just talk to Kenma about this?” Akaashi replied, ever the voice of reason. He was currently sat next to Bokuto after secretly flying over to Paris. Kuroo had been counting on him being there, he’d helped organise it of course, he knew that Akaashi would be a voice of reason whilst Bokuto would understand his side of things.
“Yes I know but then Kenma would think I care about that stuff. And I don’t. So like I don’t want him thinking that I’m all jealous and possessive of him or that I don’t like his and Chibi-chan’s friendship, yknow?”
So yes he knew that he could reasonably just explain it to Kenam and he would listen, understand and comfort him. But it felt like giving up and letting these feelings win – which was just embarrassing.
“You’re so right kuroo bro, because even though I would tell Akaashi everything because I love him so much, Kenma is very uhhhh skittish so maybe just hold off and see if he mentions it.”
“Like wait and see if he brings up the comments or like what people are doing? I suppose that could work, he doesn’t always talk about work with me but he might if I ask about it at dinner or something maybe. Yeah, that could work.” he could do that, he would make Kenma dinner, maybe apple pie to soften him or something and then he’d bring it up as casually as he could.
“Alriigghttt! My man Kuroo sorting out all his problems! Well, we have to go, Atsumu wants us to do something for team bonding, but good luck!! You’ve got this broski!!”
Akaashi murmured another ‘good luck’ while Bokuto shouted praises over the phone before he hung up.
It didn’t surprise him that he felt considerably better about his feelings and what to do about them after talking to Bokuto. He always did, they were best friends for a reason, not in the same way he and Kenma were best friends but more in the way that they were twin flames and because of that Bo would always understand or at least try to understand where he was coming from.
Bokuto had been the one who had helped him get with Kenma in the first place, after 3 years of listening to Kuroo whine about Kenma and watching him realise that he was completely in love with Kenma; Bokuto was the one who pushed him to actually tell the setter about his feelings.
He really was grateful to him, and Akaashi, they helped steady him when Kenma swirled his head around.
“Kitten I bought you apple pie.” he walked into Kenma’s streaming room when he got the notification that Kodzuken had finished streaming.
“Why..?” he looked up at him wearily.
“Because I love you and I know you’ve been working hard recently.”
All true, just also not telling quite the whole truth. He hoped that his boyfriend wouldn’t work out his other feelings, at least not yet.
He brought his boyfriend and apple pie through to their living room and they sat on the sofa together. Kuroo could already tell that Kenma had worked out that there was something more going on by the way he was looking at him as if he was trying to decode a bug in a game.
“What is it?” his tone was ever neutral but his face conveyed everything his voice did not. Kenma’s eyebrows were pulled tightly together but his eyes were soft yet piercing as he started Kuroo down.
“What is what?” he tried to sound convincing. He was not.
Kenma gave him a hard stare that read something along the lines of ‘Are you serious, tell me now or I’ll finish my apple pie and then ignore you and then you’ll be even more sad ’ or something like that.
“Fine. It’s just, ugh how do I say this without sounding stupid.” he paused, “There are a lot of people on the internet that think you and Chibi-chan are dating or that you should date. And it’s not like I actually care that much, it’s just that you're mine and I don’t know I want to show that I’m important to you and I know that I am and all, but sometimes when you won’t show me to your fan base or whatever but you show all your other friends it makes me feel a bit rubbish. And it’s not that I mind or that I care who knows or not I ju-”
“Kuro.” He said it somewhat softly, but it was enough to cut Kuroo off in the middle of his ramble of feelings.
“Yes?” his voice quiet.
“Don’t be stupid.”
Kenma picked up his phone and began typing, if this had been at the beginning of their relationship, Kuroo would have gotten insecure here, but he’s been with Kenma long enough to know that if he’s on his phone during an important conversation, there is normally a good reason. So he waited.
“There. Stop being stupid.” he put his phone down and leant against Kuroo’s side to finish the rest of his apple pie before turning on the TV.
While he was eating Kuroo picked up his phone, then smiled, put his phone down, kissed Kenma’s head and whispered a quiet “Love you kitten.”
“Love you Tetsurou”
