"Alright Hilda?"
"Yes thank you, Howard."
"It's funny to think we're the last of the Close Gang to leave. First Pam and Peter, then Ann and Martin -"
"Virginia after Laurence passed -"
"Paul of course, but he wasn't an Original like us, was he, Hilda?"
"No Howard, but he was a very special late addition."
"And an excellent addition to the cricket team too!"
"Do you still hold that record 8th wicket stand with him?"
"I do, yes! Although mine and Martin's 7th wicket stand was beaten two years ago. And I think my cricketing days are behind me now, Hilda."
"Yes Howard, but there's bowls at the retirement home twice a week. And we can go to the bingo on the days between crafting clubs. Oh! Do you remember when Martin made that bingo machine for Mrs Beardsmore and her friends?"
"Ann said the balls went flying about all over the place! Hurr-hurrrr-hurr!"
"Still, it was a kind thing to do. I do hope someone will be as kind to us at the retirement home."
"I'm sure they will, Hilda, that's why we chose it. Besides, who couldn't be kind to you, Hilda Hughes? You're still as beautiful as the day we met."
"Oh Howard, you're making me blush! Still, the taxi has been waiting for quite some time now, and you know I mustn't rush my back. So I think it's time to say 'Goodbye House!'"
"Yes, 'Goodbye House'. And now, Hilda?"
"Yes, Howard?"
"To our new home, Hilda!"
