Chapter Text
“Manon? Hello? – I need to know if you’d want anything – to eat, to eat anything,” those words echoed in Rody’s head, the night he tried to call his ex-girlfriend, Manon, back. “Listen, I- Forget the dinner, can I- Can I just hear your voice?” he said, in a desperate last attempt to convince Manon to talk to him. But despite his efforts, Manon seemed unwilling to reply to his multiple calls.
Rody was lying on the couch, staring at the ceiling as he thought about that night. “Damn, she didn’t pick up the phone even once,” he thought as he looked at the red phone placed on the table besides him. “Maybe she’s busy – Or maybe – She’s just tired of me.”
He sighed, passing his hand through his hair in frustration, “I should stop bothering her. She’s probably better off without me anyways,” despite trying his best to make things right, nothing seemed to work. Manon kept ignoring his calls, and she even seemed to be in love with someone else. “Maybe I should… Get over it. I should move on and improve everything in my life,” he contemplated, telling himself that this was the right thing to do.
Rody got up from the couch and began looking around his apartment, glaring at the mess of things he had all around the place. —I should start with getting a job —he said to himself, thinking about his options. He then remembered something; his old job as a waiter at the famous restaurant, La Guele de Saturne.
“Maybe the position is still available…”
