Chapter Text
It has been an hour of Vi’s “let’s invite Jinx to dinner so you and her can s̶t̶o̶p̶ ̶t̶r̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶m̶u̶r̶d̶e̶r̶ ̶e̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ get to know each other” plan, and she was pretty sure that by now they have forgotten she was even in the room with them. Remembering things from their childhood so fucked up Caitlyn couldn’t help but come to the conclusion that overall Jinx must be an extremely stable individual, badmouthing Piltover and its citizens (adding credibility to her theory about her not existing in their minds anymore, or perhaps showcasing social ineptitude on a level surprising even among Zaunites), not bothering to invite her to play Mundo Kart on the Hexbox she bought, and somehow not even noticing as she refilled their tea. It was adorable, really. For the first ten minutes.
She cleared her throat. Loudly. For the fourth time. And finally , Vi looked up, a suspiciously surprised look on her face. “Oh, Cait! You must be cold, my bad. We get kinda heated when blue cleavers come flying.” She finally addressed her. Small victories are truly the joys of life.
“But I was wiiiinniiiiing.” Came a frustrated whine from Jinx, which immediately brought Vi’s attention back to her sister.
The apparent issue of the cold went completely ignored. Like her.
This was hopeless. Each time they met, she was completely sidelined. This was her home, and now she felt like a guest. An unwanted one.
“Fuck this, I’m going to bed.” She declared, and left for the bedroom. This, of course, went without a response.

She stared at the ceiling in their bedroom, unwillingly listening to the frustratingly happy noises coming from the living room. Was Vi ever this happy with her? She honestly couldn’t answer right now, and that bothered her perhaps more than it should.
She straightened her back a bit at that. She should be worried about it. She has every right to. It’s her girlfriend, not Jinx’s. Despite what she would sometimes act like.
Pushing that not at all disturbing thought down, she formed a plan. It was her first successful relationship (if we’re counting success as anything that’s not ‘betrayed me on a field of battle’ [okay the battle was an entry exam to the academy, she passed anyway and the blondie did not, but you get the gist]) and she was not giving up on it based on a few isolated incidents of being ignored. Or a dozen. Or a few dozen.
She was getting sidetracked. There was still time to fix this, she just needed to put in some effort. Good communication is the key, right? But that clearly can’t be achieved with Jinx around. Hence, as she would dub it, The Plan™.

When Jinx finally left, much too late if you’d ask her (which Vi obviously didn’t), she left the bedroom, intercepting her girlfriend just as she closed the front door.
“We need to talk.” She did enjoy the look on Vi’s face.
“Uh oh. What about?” Vi looked almost as nervous as at Jinx’s tea party. Maybe she could enjoy it a bit less.
“Quite a lot. But I don’t want any of us distracted, so we’re taking a vacation in my furthest from Zaun villa for the next two weeks.” She decided to reply after a satisfying moment, at which Vi slightly relaxed.
“Um, I mean, sure, why not.” Vi replied, still nervous.
Okay, that was quite easy.
“We’re leaving tomorrow morning. I packed our bags. Goodnight.” She turned to go back to the bedroom, satisfied that the first step seemed to work.
“Can I invite Powder? I’m sure she would love the place.” Vi decided to ruin the moment.
She stopped mid step and closed her eyes. “Absolutely the fuck not. And you sleep on the sofa tonight.”
Two weeks might not be enough.
