Chapter Text
The sun was setting over Domino City after a rather abnormal storm. But that had been no storm, it was a duel, one duelist against three. But no one other than those four duelists shall ever find out about what happened here today. As the three winners stood atop one of the many buildings, goodbyes were said.
“So, looks like our work is done here,” the one with two toned brown hair and a red jacket said, trying to keep his tone optimistic even though this means they won’t be seeing each other again.
“Looks that way,” the one with tri-colored hair said, turning away from the sunset to face the other two.
“Well, guess this is goodbye then, it was great meeting you guys,” a forced smile from the brown haired one, but he couldn’t help but hope, “do you think we’ll meet again sometime?”
“Yeah, but let’s hope that when we do, the whole world of duel monsters isn’t on the line again,” the third one responds. This one has black hair with yellow accent strands and a biker outfit.
“You said it Yusei,” the tri-color haired one said to the black haired one. “Maybe we could duel each other,” his voice sounded more happy now, “whatever happens, I know the bond we formed here today is one that’s going to stand the test of time.”
The brown haired one’s smile shifts to a more genuine one as he holds his hand out saying, “all of time,” in a confirming manner.
“Absolutely,” Yusei agrees, placing his hand atop the extended hand. The third man adds their hand to the pile.
Eventually they pull their hands away from each other and Yusei says, “well Judai, it’s time we returned to our own times,” the brown haired man nods in agreement, “goodbye Yugi.”
Yugi, the tri-color haired man smiles as Yusei gets on his motorbike and Judai joins him waving. And if Yugi had seen the painful loneliness in Judai’s expression, he didn’t say anything.
With that, Yusei and Judai rode off, a rectangle of light forming in front of them, allowing them to return to Judai’s time, 15 years later. They came to a quick stop, once again on top of a building.
“Uhm… Yusei, I don’t think this is Venice,” Judai says as he gets off the bike and walks to the edge of the building, and upon looking out at this futuristic looking city, he can clearly see that this isn’t Venice at all.
“It’s not the Satellite either,” Yusei responds, looking around too, “this place looks far more advanced than even New Domino City”
“So then… where are we?” Judai mumbles.
The sprawling city seems to be all around them, going as far as the eye can see in all directions except for directly behind them which is a tower of a building with winding decorative structures that surround it. Also the weirdest ball thing ever that’s atop the tower.
