My precious lullaby..
My baby please don’t cry..
The hard days are over..
Because mom will always be with you.
My precious lullaby….
The expression on her face could only be seen as a smile, if sharks could do that. Mother was the most beautiful creature in the sea. Her eyes sparkled like the stars at night, her glossy skin was like moonlight reflecting off the water.
Lullaby looked just like her mother, a dusty lemon yellow skin. Though she did have a unique line on her back. Well… not really a line, more like a squiggle that way, loop in another direction, then straight down.
“Mo-Mom..” She started saying, “You’re so beautiful.”
Mom chuckled, “Aww, thank you, Lullaby.”
Lullaby hugged her mom, “I-I love you so much, please don’t leave me.”
“Of course, my baby. I would never leave your side.”

It all felt like a dream, actually it might as well be a dream. All the memories of Lullaby’s mother washed away like sand on the seashore. How would she be able to escape this hell? Stuck in this tank in the middle of nowhere.
The water felt colder today, maybe it was winter? She would just have to wait, wait till one of those two-legged demons come pick her up and do something to her. Sharp objects that shone a blind ray into her eyes whenever light reflected it.
She did notice something though, when she made the unique sound she could make the demons… devils, whatever, they would be very intrigued. They would come and just… watch her. It was quite disturbing.
Every time she went into the cell inside the big facility she always had plenty of time to look for escape routes. She hadn’t found a single one though.
She swam around once, twice, three times. It was like a loop. The humans could have at least maybe given her some fish to play with, or at least some colorful coral to admire. Instead her tank was just kelp, rocks, and sand. It was quite dull, it contrasted her colorful yellow.
She approached the glass that the two-legged devils used to study her. Were they too scared to enter by themselves? Not like she wouldn’t maul them like some rabid animal as soon as they come into view.
For now there were none visible from where she was swimming.
There were definitely many other creatures that also had this unfortunate fate, she wondered what happened to them. If they ever found a way out. She was eager to maybe meet some of them, she was lonely these few months.
“My precious lullaby..” she started to sing.
The door behind the glass opened and one of the devils dressed in white clothes walked in, accompanied by another one. She went quiet, staring at them.
At this point they should’ve figured out she couldn’t understand them, she was trying to learn though. She could understand just a few words.
She leaned into the glass, which caused one of them to put their hand up. Being alert, she immediately recoiled and darted to the other side of the glass.
The devil didn’t react, they only showed a look of disappointment.
She couldn’t hear anything that they were saying, not like she’d understand them anyway. But she still observed them closely.
The devil with circle shapes on their face pointed to the scribbles on a white sheet with their finger. The other looked at the scribbles and looked back at Lullaby. They nodded and the one with the white sheet walked out of the room.
There was normally a little entrance for her when they wanted to move her into the white room. If she ignored it then they wouldn’t feed her for days till she was lured by the smell of food. She was far too familiar and just didn’t resist.
She remembered hearing something the devils said clearly, “It’s very smart. It learns.”
No amount of explaining could say how mad she was. “It?” Was that what they thought of her? As something that is just a mere object? She was just a simple lemon shark to them, maybe smart and learns things fast, but always going to be an ordinary being for them to meddle with.
The light from the entrance seeped through it, she wondered what the scribbles were on that white sheet, it probably was another experiment they wanted to perform to torture her again.
She swam through the entryway, which immediately closed as soon as she was fully in the room. Nothing was in the room, as usual. Until she noticed something.
An odd shaped thing was on a platform. It was skinny at the top and round at the bottom and had a brownish color. Weirdest of all there was a hole in it which made it look hollow, and six long strings.
What was it? Was it dangerous? Would it explode, or maybe poke her somehow? It didn’t appear to be alive, it was inanimate and wouldn't be leaving that platform soon. She scanned the room, half of it was glass, easy to break. While the other side was a wall.
The same two devils were standing there, alongside two others. Interesting, there usually wasn’t this little, were they letting their guard down? A bad choice really. She only tried to escape once, which she failed miserably.
She looked around the room once more, did they want her to do something? Maybe with the object? She swam up so her eyes were just outside of the water.
“ What a weird object. ” She thought.
She needed to take a closer look at it.
She attempted to get on the platform, but because of her slippery skin she slid off. She plopped down into the water like an idiot, “That was a little embarrassing.”
She tried again, and slipped off. The devils probably purposefully made the platform this slippery.
“ Wait ,” She thought, “ I could just jump from the side and push it in the water so I’ll be able to see it clearly. ”
That was a good plan, she was pretty good at plans. Someone needed to go up to her and tell her she was a good planner, so she would stop thinking about it. She swam back till her tail pressed against the wall. She then swam quickly and leaped onto the platform.
She was expecting to slip again, but instead she stayed on. Lullaby saw the devils saying things to each other, oh they wanted to see smart? She’ll show them how smart she really was.
She thrashed around like a fish out of water to try to move herself to the object. When she reached the object she used her tail to push it into the water. It immediately filled up with water, probably because of the hole and how it was hollow.
“Yes!!” She celebrated silently, praising herself.
She moved to the left till she was at the edge of the platform. She plunged into the water, splashing water literally everywhere.
If there weren’t any walls then all of the devils would get soaked. She smirked, that was a good idea. She should try that sometime.
After she regained control she slowly started to swim towards the object, finally being able to take a closer look.
It was a light brown, a color that appeared in the ocean many times. It was so oddly-shaped. She never saw a fish or any coral shaped like this.
Before she could feel the texture of the object the water to the room was being drained, then the entrance opened up. Oh? Did they get bored of her already? Maybe they didn’t like the little display.
She was already back in her tank when the water fully drained. Lullaby would go to the corner of the tank and rest on the sand. She would find a way out, and it was going to be soon,
sometime soon.

TEST-LOG-378-A (written by Dr. Chang)
Summary: Z-378 is introduced to a guitar
Events:
Z-378 is let in the containment cell. Z-378 notices the guitar and immediately attempts to jump on the platform. It slips a few times before staying in the water for about two minutes. Then it would swim back near the farthest wall and jump onto the platform once more, which it succeeded.
Z-378 pushes the guitar into the water.
Results: Don’t know what we were expecting here, maybe to see if it would actually play the guitar? Nah that's just stupid sigh anyway, test failed miserably.
“Did-did you literally just start fucking recording? Because this is one of the many experiments, Dr. Chang.” - Dr. ████████
