The sound of distant voices snapped Morro out of his thoughts, his eyes trailing to find their origin. At first he couldn't spot anyone actually on the Spectral Lands, a good sign, but that didn't mean they weren't just hidden from view. The spectral lands had quite a few abandoned houses and hills, many places to avoid being seen.
The soul suckers were heading towards the outskirts of the lands, Morro scanning their paths for potential living beings. Souls would always show up in similar locations, and none had shown up to his knowledge, so it had to be another one of the living. They were almost glad about meeting Arin, a nice change of pace from the usual routine of being a sort of ferryman for the merged realms spirits, so he was a little excited at the idea of helping more of the living.
Or at least he was excited until his eyes met a familiar green. His heart would've sank if he was alive upon seeing the blonde mop of hair, they ignored the other two with him, focusing solely on the one that mattered the most to him.
Lloyd Garmadon. The Green Ninja.
Of course he was still alive, they would've seen him pass through if he had died, but it was no doubt a shock to his system. He watched every little detail of the boy- no, man's movements. Should he dare to go up and talk to him? What would he even say? 'Hey sorry for possessing you and torturing you all those years ago, I'm making up for it by helping souls move on!!'. Yeah as if he'd believe any of that.
Shifting his none existent weight from one foot to the other, contemplating on if he should. Lloyd wasn't going onto the lands, just standing outside of them where Arin and his Master had been before continuing their travels. The ghost let his gaze on Lloyd break, taking note of the others with him. A young dragon, a serpentine, and a human girl. None of which looked familiar to them, why wasn't he travelling with the other ninja? Had they been lost to the merge? No he would've known, maybe they hadn't found eachother yet.
The serpentine was wearing a gi, odd, they thought, but what wasn't odd after the merge. Their dragon was sniffing around, looking distressed and concerned, and they were talking to it, asking it questions he couldn't quite make out over the distance. Taking a few steps closer as if that would help him hear those who were almost a hundred-fifty metres away.
Suddenly the dragon caught the scent of something, alarmed, the others hesitated to go with it. This was his last chance to decide if he was going to see Lloyd or not. Surely he would at least know where Wu is, he was his uncle after all. Yeah, he could just go up with only the intent to ask him to apologise to Wu for him, but maybe that would hurt him more. Only giving an apology to their master and not the green ninja himself? That wouldn't be taken well. Now they were overthinking, 'Stop overthinking. Do I or don't I.'
But it was too late, Lloyd Garmadon had slipped away with his group, following the lead of the dragon.
Morro let out a sigh, he would have all the time in the world to apologise to him when he eventually passes through the Spectral Lands. If he did. Morro was well aware of the green ninja's cursed heritage. They couldn't help but feel like a failure for not taking the chance as he went back to his post atop the hill, blankly staring at the spot the green ninja once stood.
