Ties and Tobacco

Summary:

Jung Hoseok is not just a ray of sunshine; he’s the entire sun. In private, he thrives on spontaneity and one-night stands; commitment has always been a foreign concept. Hoseok doesn’t repeat the same experience twice—the same person, twice.

Well, except for her.

Sibella has been on her own for a long time. Survival meant keeping her expectations of others and her needs low and nonexistent. Here, in Korea, she’s finally seeming to have found a place for herself. No matter how much Hoseok confuses her with how he oscillates between passionate intensity and cold indifference, she’s desperate to keep this—whatever this is—going.

Hoseok sees all of this. He sees the little sparkles of hope in Sibella’s eyes when he’s uncharacteristically gentle, or when he gives her a little smile in the hallway—little crumbs to keep her hooked to him, and… he hates to be that guy… but he’s just not capable of more than a quick fuck in his dance studio.

Chapter Text

Jung Hoseok didn't do more than a one-night stand with someone. One night of satisfying pure animalistic needs and desires without getting involved in mushy bullshit complications like emotions, vulnerability, and knowing full government names.

Why should he have to know the last name of where he's putting his dick for the next few hours?

Hoseok doesn't want to know phone numbers, addresses, or even last names since he'd never be seeing the person again after his erection left.

But, as he kept fucking himself into this particular legal assistant in of the Hybe's closets, he knew he wouldn't be able to deny himself another taste of this cunt.

He was at... one... two... three... four times in the past two weeks. Four, plus all the others he didn't bother adding up that had happened in the past nine months.

His lack of ability to deny himself of her made him fucking mad

Big, adorable brown eyes begged for him. Tears streaked down her cheeks, the fabric in the makeshift gag between her lips catching the salty wetness before it could drip off her chin. A muffled moan tried to escape her throat, and Hoseok gripped her neck tighter to stop them from getting caught. They couldn't get seen like this—he couldn't get seen like this. Multiple times with the same woman? His reputation was on the line every time he got sucked back in by this particular paralegal and he hated it. Christ, did he fucking hate it.

Hated her.

Focusing back on the present moment and the absolute mess of a woman currently in his arms, Hoseok emphasised the need for silence by clamping his hand over her already gagged mouth. The only authentic sound Hoseok permitted to be heard in their tiny space was the rubbing of the material of his outfit against her dress and the wetness of her pussy while he thrust into her. God, the only thing that could have made this little meetup better was if she were tied up in captivating red ropes like she had been for him before.

"You wear this pretty dress for me, baby? Hmm? Knew I couldn't wait until later to fuck you in it?" Hoseok whispered in her ear, smiling menacingly when she nodded frantically.

"It's so sweet that you wanted to please me with this. Make yourself pretty for me." Even if you've become the bane of my existence.

He didn't voice that last part aloud, though. While Hobi wasn't good with the ooey-gooey bullshit, he knew enough to understand that if he ever told her that he resented how much he craved her cunt... he wasn't going to get to stick his dick inside it anymore.

Kissing her neck, Hoseok paused his thrusts when he came, allowing himself to relish in the orgasm thoroughly. He closed his eyes. His breathing stopped, his body tensed and relaxed momentarily as the wave passed through him. As Hobi reopened his eyes, he exhaled and continued to give soft pecks to his plaything all over her face until his cock stopped twitching, and he had composed himself. Pulling out, he readjusted her panties. His fingers pushed the modal into the entrance of her cunt, feeling his cum soak the fabric.

"You're going to walk into that meeting with these panties. Let me think of how dirty you are while you try to be professional. Think you can do that for me, baby?"

Again, his toy nodded.

Hoseok took care of her as much as he saw fit. He did so by pulling the gag out of her mouth and untying her wrists with the hair ribbon she had been wearing. Then, he opened the door to the closet for his cute, infuriating little plaything and watched with amusement as she combed her hair with her fingers, bowed to him and left.

It drove Hoseok insane that no one was paying attention during the meeting. Jimin was slyly texting, Taehyung was blatantly browsing through pictures of Yeotan, Namjoon kept fucking looking at his fiancée —who was busy actually doing her job—and Yoongi was just Yoongi, zoning in and out of the meeting. Who knew what was going on in the maknae's mind—that was an enigma for another time. Jin, thankfully, was carrying his weight throughout this business conference.

"Sibella-ssi, have you heard if all the units agreed on how the portions will be distributed?" One of the chairmen asked.

The mention of his temporary plaything's name caused Hoseok to stop fidgeting with his pen.

"Yes, all of the members' solo album details have been given the green light by Korean and global lawyers. A proposal has been authorised, and the final draft of the timeline for Taehyung-nim's, Hoseok-nim's, and Namjoon-nim's albums has been sent for approval. The only change that needs to be made is for Hope on the Street Vol 1. It will be delayed by three days due to supply chain issues. But—"

Hoseok sat up straighter and clenched his jaw. What the fuck? There was another delay? He had personally gone over Sibella's head and met with the head of legal, Yeongsu-ssi, to guarantee nothing else happened.

His fidgeting with the pen returned, this time out of annoyance.

"How can that be? I arranged for everything to be sent in advance. I have promises to keep: people who are expecting me at certain times, film sets that have hired employees for specific dates. This can't be delayed. There are other people who are relying on this album to follow a very precise timeline."

Sibella stuttered a bit. Hoseok was happy to see that his tone affected her. It should affect her. If he found out that this was her fault, he'd be sure to punish her for it later.

Later?

Fuck, again?

Hobi didn't do more than one-night stands, and now he was approaching high double-digit hookups with this girl. Maybe he needed to talk with his doctor about this. Maybe get a blood test and see if there was anything physically wrong with him, since he certainly couldn't explain what was happening. If there wasn't something wrong with his body, there surely was something wrong mentally. Perhaps he could bother Jimin's fiancée, Eunji nuna, and see if she knew of any good psychotherapist who could diagnose him with something.

Sibella shuffled her papers to look tidier before she spoke.

"I apologise. I should have phrased that better. The final release date for Hope on the Street Vol 1 will be delayed by three days due to supply issues concerning the ink used to print the album. The only thing affected is its final release date, nothing else."

Hoseok was about to fight her on this, about to scold her politely for her lack of clear communication, when Namjoon gently put his hand on his shoulder firmly, squeezing him slightly, almost as if it was a warning.

"I'm sure you're frustrated, Hoba, but don't take it out on the poor legal assistant. We can get someone to look into this and ask for an explanation from the supplier themselves, not the person who deals with the legal side of things."

Forever the diplomat, Namjoon cut the conversation off, and Hoseok noted how Sibella's shoulders sagged with relief. He bit the nail of his index finger as he kept his glare on the obviously uncomfortable legal assistant, who continued to play with the corners of her papers to avoid his gaze.

Clearing his throat, one of the directors changed the subject, starting to drone on about how delays were always accounted for in release dates. Three days was nothing in the grand scheme of things, he tried to joke.

Nothing, indeed.

"You shouldn't be so harsh, Hoba," Namjoon commented softly to him after the meeting while opening the door to his studio. "She's just a legal assistant. She's the messenger between us and all of the legal departments. Don't shoot the messenger, we kind of need this one so the lawyers don't go crazy with all of the work." He gave a fake laugh.

"She has more power and education than you think she does," Hoseok found himself defending her while lounging on his friend's sofa.

"I'm not saying it like that. Of course, she has to be very intelligent to do what she's doing. She—"

"Her name is Sibella."

To that, Namjoon was taken aback slightly. His brother's tone was angry, clipped. The type of tone he'd take if one of the members messed up on a choreography that they'd been practising for hours.

Joon wasn't sure what he had done to piss off his friend, but this topic seemed to affect him profoundly. Or maybe she affected him significantly. Joonie wasn't blind, and he certainly wasn't deaf. He had heard the maknaes tease Hoba about the legal department. He had assumed that maybe something had happened while he was away in Canada. Perhaps, though, it wasn't a something that had happened, but a someone.

"Sibella." He corrected himself,  "I apologise. I'm sure Sibella is wonderfully intelligent. Nevertheless, she is just the messenger in this little delay, not the cause of it. I'm sure you can talk with her boss... oh what's his nam—"

"Yeongsu-ssi."

Hoseok was caught in the trap that Joon had laid, which confirmed that his friend knew more than he was letting on. Hoba clearly spent some time getting... familiar with the legal department than any of the other members had.

"I'm confident Yeongsu-ssi would have time to talk with you if you wanted to." Namjoon paused, turning towards his computer to click on a few things and avoid eye contact when he spoke again. "Is there something you want to talk about, hyung? There seems to be something heavy on your shoulders."

"No."

The firm tone of his denial caught Namjoon off guard again. It wasn't unusual for Hoseok not to talk about what was going through his mind, but it was uncommon for him to have such a closed-off tone. Nonetheless, Joon didn't push it. Instead, he showed his group member a track he was producing for the next group album and tried to distract him by asking for help writing new lyrics.

When Hoseok left the studio sometime later, Namjoon had a sinking feeling that this latest version of his friend would rapidly become the version he saw the most if Hoseok didn't deal with whatever was making him this short-tempered and isolated.

"Sibella-ssi, right?" A gentle voice startled you.

Looking up from your laptop, you saw a woman with long black hair, softly tanned skin, and beautiful deep brown, almost black eyes. She wore flowy, linen black pants and an oversized, tucked-in wool sweater. Her earrings were beaded and heavy-looking but sparkly and multi-coloured, with little clouds as the primary design focus.

"Yes, hi." You started to get up to bow, yet the woman stopped you by holding up her hand, walking closer to your cubicle, and sitting comfortably in one of the chairs near you.

"No need to bow; we're both foreigners. We can keep it casual."

She held out her hand for you to shake.

"Hi, my name's Romanie, Ro for short. I'm sorry I startled you. I work in the translation department. You're the new...ish legal assistant under Yeongsu-ssi? You've been here a few months, right?"

"I've been working directly for Yeongsu-ssi for almost a year now, but I was in the general legal department for about three years before that."

Romanie nodded her head before crouching a bit closer to you. "Listen, I just came down to apologise for Jung Hoseok-nim's behaviour. I don't know why he acted that way, but I could tell it genuinely affected you. I know it's also not my place to apologise for him, but I thought it would be nice to know that you had someone on your side in that meeting."

Your eyes shot down to the floor, cheeks flushing with embarrassment. You hadn't realised it had been that obvious that Hoseok's rotten mood had caused you some anxiety and uneasiness.

"Hey," Romanie gently grabbed your hands in hers, your eyes catching the glossy black, almond-shaped fake nails she had. "I didn't mean to call you out like that. I'm sorry. I just wanted to let you know that I'll back you up if there's ever a next time. If you want to sit next to me, too, I'd love that."

"That's very kind of you." You bit the inside of your lip, trying to figure out why she was being so sweet to a stranger.

"Would you like to go for coffee tomorrow? Down in the cafeteria during lunch?" Romanie asked with a smile playing on her lips and hope in her eyes.

"Of course!" The offer took you by surprise, but you weren't going to turn down the start of a friendship with someone as thoughtful as this.

"Perfect!" Romanie stood up from her chair and played with what you assumed was an engagement ring on her finger. "I'll drop by tomorrow before lunch to come get you. The caf is so big, I'm sure we wouldn't be able to find each other if we planned on meeting there. Anyways, I'll see you tomorrow!" She turned to leave before stopping and turning half around for a short moment.

"Oh! By the way, I love your little medicine wheel. I'm sure we'll have a lot in common."

With a wink and sparking a bit of hope in your heart, Romanie turned and left back towards the elevators, leaving you stunned and wondering what tomorrow would bring.

My uploading schedule will be more routine this time around. If something unexpected occurs, I'll let you all know.

Thank you all for coming on this journey with me again, familiar faces and new ones. Thank you for being here with me. ♥️

As always, you can find me on insta @tangerineandsuga
