Gildor wins the toss to go with Círdan's reinforcements to Hithlum. He acquits himself well in the first few encounters, then gets hit with an orc-arrow and is out for the rest of the fighting.
(It turns out he has more an elf's resistance to poison than a human's. Good to know.)
He meets Fingon briefly, after the fighting is over and before he's shipped back to the Falas. Fingon courteously calls him cousin and wishes him well and doesn't ask awkward questions.
The injury means he can't visit Dor-lómin, so he doesn't have to decide if he wants to.
