Work Text:
Jade looked down and saw a derse court droll, the tricky little fella had just stolen the queen's ring from a mail lady! How dastardly!
Jade swooped in, delivering a beatdown of a lifetime, trying her best to teach the meanie a lesson. A small onlooker across the gap on a bridge looked on in slight confusion but shrugged as she caught the droll’s weird large hat.
Jade reached out and caught the queen's ring, “Phew, just in time- aw…” Jade said, looking up, hoping to catch the mail lady… but it seems she's already set off to meet the king.
She looks around the kingdom of Prospit… Well, the best way to remember to deliver the ring to the postal women is to wear it, just like her string ring reminders!
And so, she put it on… and keeled over in pain.
A sharp pain in her chest shot up, as a white sword appeared through her chest. It was cold and felt weird. After a few moments, the pain died down, leaving the feeling of cold steel in her chest, in her heart.
Jade grunted in pain as her back jutted away from her, and wings ripped out from her back. Flapping experimentally, she gripped the floor, causing it to crack under newfound strength.
The sides of her chest cause her to stifle a scream, as two freakish tentacles pushed out from under her skin. Pure white like the sword. They squirmed with her will, and they gently held her head…
And just as she held her head, trying to breathe, a harlequin hat appeared on it. She could not remove it, no matter how hard she tried…
Jade stood up, tired and a bit dazed by her transformation. A few onlooking Prospit carapacians looked on in slight amazement.
Jade just… kinda shrugged and headed off to find a place to further build Dave's apartment.
After a few moments, Jade spotted a nice place and landed… it was actually quite a bit of a work out with the added wing flaps.
She sat down and opened her computer, working away at Dave's apartment… slowly gaining a crowd of watching carapacians. She built away, watching as Dave suddenly started crafting items… and weirded out underlings alike with said items… jade continued her work, before getting bothered by a troll…

Jade frowned as he left the chat… and began to wonder if she died in this body, while it’s changed, would it stay that way? Oh, who cares! These wings are so fluffy! It's to die for!
… Might as well take it for more of a spin! She packed up and waved goodbye to all her new prospit friends, and they did the same.
Jade flapped her wings, a bit more experimentally, and took off, flying amongst the golden cities, back to her tower.
Might as well try and wake John now- huh? What's that dark spot on Skaia…?
And in an instant, the Prospit moon erupted into chaos and doom. Red miles spanning across it all, the cities crumbled and towers broke apart, like the stone and gold it was made out of was chalk.
Jade stayed calm and headed towards John's tower, he must wake up! He has to! She dived after him, no longer flying with Prospits powers, but her wings, and using gravity to catch up with the sleeping dreamer as they both began to fall into Skaia, and down onto the battle field.
She grabbed and slapped him, shouting, screaming, “WAKE UP! DAMN IT JOHN, WAKE UP!”
She looked behind herself, to see Prospit coming down onto the both of them. Just a few more inches! She flapped her wings with all her might. pushing John and herself out the way.
A few minutes later, a disoriented and groggy John woke up on the battlefield. Unsure what was happening… he found… Jade? Heavily beaten, and… with new parts.
“J-Jade…?” John asked. Afraid if she was…
“... Morning sleepy head,” Jade coughed, trying to get up… her wings in a slight bloody ruin.
“Jade! Oh my god- are you alright!?” John shouted as he got down and helped his friend up.
“Im- *cough* I'm fine… I promise…” Jade said, struggling to stand, John lets her lean on him.
“Where am I?- where are we? What is this place?” John shoots out a few questions. Confused as hell.
“God damn it- where's your present? It was supposed to explain all this…” Jade grumbled, had the mail industry failed her this time?
The Parcel Mistress suddenly appeared, and handed a package to John, she seems very done with today and its shenanigans… Jade coughs and says, “Thank y-you…” This seems to make her lighten up, and fill with slight worry… but she wanders off, not noticing Jade had the ring, thinking Jade was just deformed after the moon of prospit fell on her.
John begins reading the paper in the package, smiling as he reads, bringing jade to a weak smile. She doesn't even notice her head getting chopped off by Jack Noir, as he tries to take her ring. John screams in fear, and anger, and the battle rabbit jumps out. Ready to fight for its master, John.
Jack, knowing that thing’s power, makes a run for it. But the little shit chases him, rabbit and ring in hand, he is absolutely terrified as he tries to lose the kid… leaving Jade, dead, still in her transformed body…
Her grandfather walks up, and grabs her, both head and body. A family tradition must be upheld. But, as he looks at it, he isn't sure if it was his granddaughter in its final moments… but, tradition must be upheld.
