Chapter Text
Yoshiki hates this feeling. The hunger, the overwhelming nature of… everything. A thousand noises blend into each other, making his ears hurt and the metallic scent of blood hits his nostrils. He's far too aware of all the heartbeats around him, the humanity of everyone else like they're begging him to take their blood. He can't control himself anymore so he runs, faster than their eyes can see, until the stench lessens. Now that the tempting smell of blood is gone, he's aware of his own starvation.
He craves it. He needs it. He'll end up murdering someone if he approaches them in this state.
The blood bags he'd stolen are empty. Little animals don't help and he can't bring himself to murder anything bigger.
Shit, can vampires die like this?
“Whoa there!”
Yoshiki jumps, startled. He hadn't realised someone sneaked up on him and he soon understands why once he notices the lack of heartbeat. The white haired boy seems somewhat familiar but his eyes are a dead giveaway. He's also a vampire.
“You look troubled.”
“Hikaru?” Yoshiki manages to ask.
The boy gives him a bright smile. “I guess I am, yes.”
It's been years since they've last seen each other. Soon after Hikaru’s disappearance in the woods, Yoshiki moved to the big city. There he got drawn into a cult and became this. Somehow, Hikaru’s disappearance is explained now.
“Yer absolutely starved, aren't ya?”
Yoshiki nods. There's no point in denying it, not when the other vampire can smell it on him. He's sure by now that this is not the same Hikaru he knows but he's in too much pain to deal with that.
“Why don't ya feed? There's people who'd like this, ya know.”
Yoshiki tried. The coven that Turned him taught him all about that. He'd killed the first person he drank from and then was too scared to do it again. Besides, even if he could control himself long enough to drink from a human without killing them, the effects of the venom gives unpleasant reactions on their part. He just can't.
“I see.”
‘Hikaru’s standing closer now. Yoshiki’s so out of it he hadn't noticed him moving. There's a snake-like smile on his face as he tilts his head to the side. “Feed on me.”
Yoshiki stares at him dumbly. “It's forbidden,” he forces himself to say. That was one of the first rules his Coven had taught him. Drinking another vampire’s blood is the biggest taboo. It's only meant as a punishment and humiliation and only done by the head of the Coven or some other vampire in power. He can't. Especially with how this ‘Hikaru’ doesn't seem to be the same one he knew.
“So what?” ‘Hikaru’ asks. He sets a hand on Yoshiki’s shoulder and the boy nearly breaks. “Drink. You need it.”
Yoshiki shakes his head. He can't. There's no way this isn't a trap and he's not about to fall right into it. The lack of blood must be affecting him because his vision blurs and all the sounds start bleeding together into background noise. There's no pulse in this being standing before him and somehow that's comforting. His blood smells different too, unlike a humans. Yoshiki knows that if he stood this close to a human, they'd be dead by now. Somehow he doesn't seem to have that problem with the vampire.
“Don't be so stubborn. No one will know.” And then ‘Hikaru’ isn't giving him a chance and instead he grabs the back of Yoshiki’s head, pressing his mouth against his throat. The smell of blood is so much stronger and, as much as he doesn't want to, the hunger overwhelms him. He gives in and sticks his fangs into ‘Hikaru’s’ throat, almost feral. The vampire’s pants barely register to his ears as he feels the blood pool in his mouth.
Yoshiki sucks desperately, too many days of starvation making themselves known. He's fully grabbing at ‘Hikaru’ now, nails digging into his shoulders and through the fabric of his shirt. The blood tastes so good, so much different than a human’s and he hasn't fed in so long. He doesn't even care that he's making a mess, instead he pulls his fangs out only to sink them again in a different spot. ‘Hikaru’ lets out a little whimper, hands coming to Yoshiki’s arms but he isn't pushing him away. Instead it's encouraging, urging him to take more.
“Shit,” the vampire curses.
Yoshiki hadn't realised that he started grinding against him. Sex often came with feeding, as much as he didn't want it too, it was a part of it. The venom his bite slips into the body always gets humans horny and apparently, Yoshiki’s body is trained to remember that. It's either that or all the feelings he repressed for his dead friend finally come crushing him, now that he got this chance. He doesn't even care, the energy the blood revives in him is too good to stop. Yoshiki keeps grinding his hips against the other vampire’s middle, feeling himself get closer to release. His need for blood isn't quite satisfied yet so he bites again, this time more to the front of ‘Hikaru’s’ throat. The other bites are already slowly healing.
“Yoshiki…”
The sound makes Yoshiki groan, tensing up. He's never expected to hear his childhood crush moan his name this close to his ear but it just happened. Shamefully, that's what gets him coming, grinding his hips a little more until he's spilling into his own pants. He should be ashamed of himself but all he feels is exhilarating satisfaction. It's the first time in weeks - if not even months - when he doesn't feel like he's half a corpse. It's surreal.
“Hah… Was that good?” ‘Hikaru’ asks once Yoshiki slumps against him. A drop of blood drips down the side of his neck, staining his white shirt but he doesn't seem to mind.
Now that it's over and his head is clearer for the first time in a while, Yoshiki realises what he's done. He pulls away, scared. “This is wrong.”
“Ouch,” ‘Hikaru’ chuckles. “And here I thought ya enjoyed it. Ya certainly look better.”
And ‘Hikaru’ looks ten times paler than before if that was even possible. He wets his lips, fixing Yoshiki with his impossibly blue eyes.
“I shouldn't have done that.” Yoshiki can't even bear to look at the vampire. Just because he's too weak to feed like a normal vampire he'd gone and caused this. “You're not really the Hikaru I know, are you?”
‘Hikaru’ contemplates his question. Something about his composure looks messy, almost frail. “Mhm, no. Sorry.”
“Why did you let me do this?”
‘Hikaru’ shrugs. “You needed it. I could help.” He sways a little on his feet and Yoshiki wonders if vampires can be affected when they lose too much blood. “Here.” He hands Yoshiki his own phone back - when the hell had he taken it? “Next time you need to feed, call me. I'll help.”
“Why?”
“‘Cause I wanna help. Yer cute. And still so much like a human. I'm curious about you.”
Yoshiki shakes his head as he takes his phone back, a little too roughly. He definitely won't be calling him. In fact, he'll pretend none of this ever happened.
“I'm sorry. I don't want this.”
Yoshiki pretends that he doesn't run away. No, he's just doing the logical thing, what he should have done from the very beginning, before this whole mess. He hopes the vampire doesn't follow him.

Yoshiki spends the next few days hidden in his shitty apartment. He barely goes out anymore, far too scared of losing control and drinking someone dry. Still, after his encounter with the vampire, he feels way more refreshed than before. More in control. He can be around humans without salivating at the thought of their blood and he doesn't get the urge to kill anyone.
That doesn't last long of course. After less than a week he feels the hunger setting in, the nature of his new life calling to him. Just in time for being summoned by his Coven. Yoshiki’s heart catches in his throat. Do they know? Have they found out about what he did? Is he going to be executed?
Still, he can't not show up. That would be suspicious in itself. Gathering his courage and after emptying all the rats he can find around the apartment, Yoshiki hides his face with a cap and heads to the mansion.
“Glad you could make it, my darling Yoshiki.” His Maker says. She flashes him a smile and pets his cheeks, always so affectionate with him. That's how she first lured him in after all. He bows politely because there's nothing else he can do, as much as he hates her. With a fake smile, the vampire walks away, stepping into the center of the room.
“Our Leader has returned today. We have gathered here to celebrate and introduce him to the fresher faces of our Coven. Everyone, meet our Leader Nounuki-sama.”
Yoshiki freezes. Standing before him is a face he knows all too well, so strikingly familiar it hurts. His eyes widen in shock as he tries to back away.
'Hikaru!'
