"Guys, what happens if our hunch is wrong?" Zoey's question echoed off the walls of the dingy alleyway.
Mira turned to look at her, "Wrong, like, how?"
"Like there's no demon, the new golden Honmoon is working fine, and we're about to find a real serial killer?"
"You sound waaay too excited."
"I'm just saying! People do go missing sometimes, like, normally! Especially in dark, creepy alleyways."
"We'll probably be fine?" Rumi interjected, "We can handle ourselves well enough, even against human threats."
"Thats if anything is here anyways, this could just be another empty alleyway."
"I know it doesn't make sense, but I have this strong feeling that some demons might still be here," Rumi explained, "Like what if they were on this side of the Honmoon and ended up stuck here on Earth?"
"That makes a lotta sense," Zoey tapped her chin, "But don't worry! Whether or not it's a demon, we've got this!"
"'Cause we are hunters, voices strong~"
The three of them froze.
"That was more than a three part harmony," Zoey whispered.
The quiet humming of the melody echoed across the narrow walls of the dark alleyway.
"Is anyone there?"
"Yes ma'am, I'm right here!" there was a familiar scoff, "is that what you expect some murderer to say?"
Three pairs of eyes practically bugged out of their sockets, "Jinu?!"
"Wait, you can hear me?"
"Of course, we can hear you?! Jinu, where the hell are you?" Rumi frantically searched the darkness.
"I'm here, Rumi, I'm here." his disembodied voice soothed, "But I'm not quite sure where 'here' is."
"Aren't you dead?"
"I'm fairly certain I'm still dead."
"What? But then how are you talking to us? Ghost? Demon ghost?? Super secret demon ghost HAUNTING?"
"Yeah, explain."
"Totally, I was definitely hiding for months all alone in this massive, blindingly iridescent plane because I know exactly what's going on and wanted to surprise you all in a dark alley. Surprise!" Jinu exclaimed, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Are you talking about the Honmoon?"
"No, the Honmoon looks like a big, thick blanket with tears in it. This looks like some kind of pulsating ocean."
Rumi's mind was racing, "A blanket? Is that how demons see it?"
There was a long pause, "I just shrugged right now."
"There's a lot of colorful lines, right?"
"Yes?"
"So that's the Honmoon, but from a hunter's point of view."
"Actually, do you see any pink? That means there's a rip or weakness in the Honmoon."
"Yeah! Pink like a healed over scar!" Zoey interjected.
"Pink? It changes color sometimes, but I haven't seen pink."
"Okay, we gotta figure this out first before we go looking for the potential demon," Rumi began to put her sword back into the Honmoon.
"Woah, WOAH WAI-" Jinu's voice cut out like a phone call with bad reception.
She paused before pulling it out again...
"Oh you're back, no No NO-"
and then putting it back. Sword.
"Don't ju-"
No sword. Then she pulled it out again.
"STOP THAT!" Jinu yelled, the sword vibrating with the force of his voice, "Would you just let me SPEAK."
"Are you in my sword?"
"If you'd let me explain, you'd know that I can hear you all clearer when you and your friends have your weapons out, but your sword specifically seems to have a special hold over me."
Zoey sighed, "Oh, how romantic!"
"Far from it, I get yanked across this realm like a ragdoll." he deadpanned.
"Okay, I guess we're just bringing you home with us?"
"Wait how are we going to explain this to Bobby?"
"Easy, it's a prop, just like when we jumped out of the airplane, he'll just think it's some new LED lightsaber."
"But what if he can hear him talk?"
The three of them all looked at each other for a moment.
"Gas leak," they all replied in unison.
"What in the world is a gas leak?"
