Kaiju island, year;??? Month:??? Day:???
The sun..felt too hot today, especially since most kaijus would try and find somewhere cold to go swim in. What sucked for some kaijus was they weren’t truly built for the weather, Especially one or well..two specific primates who were supposed to be awake.
Soren, a brown furred lutung, was hanging upside by its tail while trying to sleep away the painful heat that was trying to make him feel like a roasted pecan..however he was starting to get poked at by a familiar ape, who kept trying to wake him up.
“Soren-!! Cmon man wake up, I’m so hot! Can’t we go swim somewhere like the others?”
“Do you remember what happened last time? You almost got mauled by a sea kaiju.”
Soren stated as he’d open his eyes to stare down at his friend; monkey. He was his closest friend since they were little, frankly everyday was a day of pure chaos when it came to the duo. Some of the kaiju on the island even called them “Dumb and dumber.” Yet they never really cared.
“Okay..and? Let’s just do something fun to stop this heat!-“
“We could try and do our daily race?”
“..no thanks- you always win.”
Monkey would huff out and land beside the tree, he was always bitter whenever Soren won. He was probably way faster than him when it came to basically everything. After a short moment Soren would move down from the tree and sit besides him, placing a hand on his shoulder and asked him in a comforting manner.
“Alright alright- let’s do it your way today, hm? What do you wanna do? You say it and we’ll do it,”
“….Anything?”
“Anything.”

“I DID NOT AGREE TO THIS AT ALL—“
Soren shouted out, the duo currently found themselves sitting on top of one of the heavy Rocky Mountains. Monkey wanted to slide his way down by using an old huge tree log he found in the most random spots on the island, which was already bad as it is. Yet the worst part was monkey had him front and center of the log, he knew he should’ve just said they could go to one of the huge lakes.
“Well it’s Kinda too late, NOW!; on my count we’re going to move down! And if I’m correct; we should..SHOULD land in a nice patch somewhere down there!”
“…Monkey there is no soft patch down there.”
“Uhhhh…”
“YOU DIDN'T CHECK???”
“ANDDD IN ONE…TWO…”
Monkey would be seen starting to move the log, laughing as he was about to count down to three. Soren however was terrified and tried to move out, shouting out as he did so. However his pleas fell deaf upon monkeys ears while he was counting. The view down below him was terrifying as it already was.
“NONONONO— MONKEY LETS TALK ABOUT THIS PLEASE DUDE! MONKEY-???”
“THREEEEE!!!”
And with that final number, The two primates would be seen quickly moving down the mountain. Soren clinging onto monkey for dear life while screaming his lungs out while monkey was laughing his ass off like crazy. They however did crash into a few things, occasionally spinning around as the duo went from the mountain to the island's ground..

Down below stood another primate that had more darker brown fur and a few gray hairs as well. He’d be seen looking around while calling out the two apes' names, they were supposed to be out hunting..
“Monkey? Soren? Where are you guys? …and yeah they don’t wanna respond okay.”
The ape was about to turn to see if the duo were somewhere else..but soon he heard the loud laughter and shouting coming from somewhere else, he’d quickly wiped his head around and saw the log coming straight for him. Soren immediately spotted the ape and called out.
“COLE GET OUT OF THE WAY—!”
Without a second thought; Cole jumped out of the way, rolling on the ground as the log sped past the ape. The two apes and the log would thus clash into a nearby tree, Soren immediately flying out of the log and was thrown against a branch; hitting his chest as he groaned out in pain. Monkey however found himself on the soft grass..somehow in one piece. Laughing as he’d looked up at Soren.
“Told you it was a good idea-!! Man you were such a wuss!”
“MONKEY—! SOREN?!? THE HELL YOU GUYS ARE DOING??”
Monkey would be seen immediately sitting up, looking at Cole who just stood up from the ground..his fur now covered in dirt and grass stains as he looked down at the primate.
“Uh..we were just..playing??”
“Playing?? You said you’d go out hunting to find a meal for yuka!”
Yuka; The younger sister of Cole and monkey..she was going to turn 19 next month and of course they’d needed to plan out something for her, a day to remember! And monkey was supposed to head out and find any kind of meal for her special day. Yet here he was; playing a dangerous game.
“I know I know—! It’s just the heat made me exhausted and I went to see sor…wait where’s Soren?”
“GUYS…???”
The two brothers immediately looked up, and Cole would let out a gasp. Soren was currently trying to cling onto the branch while struggling for a moment. Monkey immediately realizing the situation while calling out to Soren,
“SOREN?? YOU GOOD???”
“Oh yes I am perfectly fin— NO I AM NOT FINE GET ME DOWN.”
Soren would snarl out as he’d struggled to cling on the branch..he didn’t really have good balance at the moment. It didn’t take long before he slipped, screaming and he was soon caught by monkey. Soren was shaking as he’d looked at the ape with a very stern yet sharp look that made it seem like monkey had offended him.
“I am never letting you pick anything…EVERY AGAIN.”
The lutung soon just let out a loud sigh as he’d closed his eyes, yet was dropped immediately by monkey as he’d looked over at Cole and smiled as if he didn’t do anything wrong. Cole however looked completely done with the two, walking up to monkey and lifting a finger up to flick his head. Causing the ape to yowl and hold his head as he fell down as well. The two now on the ground looking completely defeated.
“I’m going back home. Dad needs me, when I get back; YOU BOTH BETTER NOT HAVE BURNED ANYTHING”
Cole stated before he began to move out, yet he’d soon threw a random fruit (a big fruit berry) in the middle of the two..which caused them to just stare at it, and then they’d began to aggressively attack each other while fighting over a single berry.

After a long day of causing chaos, and of course hunting for their own food..the duo found themselves sitting at a cliff they considered their "secret spot”. Monkey was currently eating away at a piece of fish from one of their catches, Soren however was just watching the sun set..another day spent on this island and yet nothing interesting happened. He’d slowly taken a deep breath as he’d looked over at monkey.
“So…same time tomorrow I’m guessing?”
“Yup! I mean..what else can we do??”
“I dunno, I’m just tired of the same routine; Wake up, hunt, goofy around, get yelled at, watch sunset and repeat,”
Monkey couldn’t help but agree, the same old routine was kinda boring. Not to mention how the only moments of fun were when he was trying to fight things bigger then him..which didn’t end well, he’d slowly put down the fish as he’d speak up
“Well..we could try to fight more kaijus, doesn’t hurt to try?”
“You say that as if you didn’t get body slammed by a skull crawler.”
Monkey would let out a dramatic gasp and lightly shove Soren who laughed, smiling as the two just poked at each other for fun. Before long they eventually found themselves just staring behind them, every other kaiju seemed to be heading to their homes to rest.
“I wish we could stay up longer..I like it when I talk to you,”
“Yeah, me too monkey..me too..”
Soren spoke quietly as he looked over at monkey, he grew worried for some reason..this horrible pit in his stomach; monkey was always so wild but it always got him in danger..what if he wasn’t there to save him in time? He didn’t want that, no. He’d make sure monkey would be safe from now on.
“Hey, monkey? Can you make me a promise?”
“Yeah sure! What is it??”
“..promise me you’ll always be yourself; no matter what. Even when your at your lowest, got it?”
Everything went very silent, as the two just stared at each other, however monkey couldn’t help but laugh a bit while Soren let out an awkward chuckle.
“Jeez Soren never knew you’d be the type to be so motivated!- where’d you learn that from; Mothra???”
Before Soren could even speak, he’d watched monkey get up and grab the small basket of fish; using his tail to help Soren up from the ground. He knew he couldn’t argue with monkey..frankly what did they have to worry about?? Their island was safe from humans and other big kaijus..they were protected.
“Cmon! I’ll race you back to my cave!”
“I thought you said you didn’t wanna race anymore??”
Soren pointed out, chuckling as he watched monkey trying to strap the basket of fish on his back. He wasn’t really complaining, he just wanted another good race.
“Well I changed my mind; the last one has to get the other breakfast-!”
Monkey stated as he’d quickly made Soren trip by using the same tail he helped him up with, the lutung would soon fall to the ground, groaning as he quickly got up. Yelling out while chasing after monkey.
“HEY! That’s cheating you asshole!”
The sound of laughter filled the forest as the two primates were chasing each other down, trying to be the first to the cave..and of course; and as always..Soren won.
