Work Text:
Ronin pulls you along with him, into the parts you never dared to go before. The town shifted around you, from a well kept town to what seems like... horror to your eyes. You know your boyfriend is a killer, and even a mechanic, so he's usually worked with dirt and grime, but you couldn't do it. He chuckled at your tightened disgusted look, pulling you closer as you had to walk over trash.
“Ronin,” You groaned as you got closer to him. “Where are we going?”
“Somewhere fun.” Ronin turned away, still dragging you on.
You sighed, but grimaced at the aesthetic around you. The Devil’s Butcher keeps dragging you to the part of town you never would want to be seen at, so why is he dragging you further down? To destroy your reputation? You really hope not.
Finally, when your feet start to hurt, he leads you to… an abandoned building. You turn your head towards him, “Ronin… why are we here?”
“Daw, impatient are we?” Ronin smirked, letting your hand go as he walked forward. Leaving you behind you blinked for a moment before yelling and running to walk just a few paces behind him.
Both of you walked into the building, and like you imagined it would be, this place… is trashed. But even how much you hate being here, you followed him. Floors crumbling, windows broken, and the stairs had holes. You kept these inside, you didn’t want to say them, knowing Ronin would just tease you being prince/ss. Finally, he leaves through a fire exit and starts climbing up.
Under one hand, a handle broke, the feeling of being unsafe was growing. But as you had a few more steps up, Ronin grabbed your hand and pulled you up.
“Why are we here Ronin?” You grimmed, looking down at the abandoned building you were on.
“For a reason, sweetheart, why don’t you just be patient for the devil, won’t cha?” He smirked, sitting against the concrete railing.
You groan again, following his lead again, sitting next to him. “Did you bring me here to ruin my reputation?”
“Nah.”
“But why then, Ronin? There could be a million things we can do for a date but…” You pause. You looked around you, the floor was damaged, the railings seemed close to crumbling into dust, and just getting here was a roller coaster.
“Damn, just wait.” Ronin flicked the side of your head, pulling you out of your head. “It should be happening soon.”
You yelped and rubbed the side of your head. “Ronin…” You said before a light glimmer at the edge of your sight.
And you look up…
It was beautiful. A meteor shower, shooting stars… it was captivating. You told Ronin once that you would like to see some shooting stars before, but you didn’t expect him to do so. You felt your features soften with a smile, you let yourself fall into his shoulder, staring up into the night sky.
After all the meteor shower was done, the cloudless sky showed a wonderful night sky. The view here was… it was amazing.
You never got this kind of view, the cities always had clouds covering their sky or the stars were hard to see but here… you could see almost all of them.
“Thank you… Ronin.” You said, your voice was quiet, like you were fearful to break this tender moment.
“Aw, thanking the devil for this. Even the grime and grotesque have some light moments.” Ronin spoke.
“Is that another way to say even rocks can turn out to be diamonds?” You smirked.
“Just shush and enjoy this night.” Ronin smiled.
The night was different for you, the area was not in your forte but… it wasn’t bad. And being next to Ronin, you know this was the beginning of the most messiest dates ever. Yet, you don’t think it would be bad, sure it would be something you would have to get used to, but if it turned out to be something like this… You don’t mind.
You leaned closer to Ronin as the cold settled in, just an hour more out here. You don’t want to leave this spot and its view anytime soon.
