Chapter Text
Peter walked into the Avengers living room at exactly 8:03 in the morning, 3 minutes late. He was always on time, which he prided himself on, so naturally he found Tony on the phone with the police who were calmly explaining to him that a teenager being 3 minutes late to work was no cause for concern. Clint was flat out laughing in Tony's face from the corner.
'Hi!' Peter said quietly, cringing as Tony whirled around, quickly saying goodbye to the policeofficer, saying the teenager had appeared. Even without his enhanced hearing Peter could hear the officer grumble about overprotective fathers, but chose not to comment on it.
'Where were you!' Tony screamed hysterically, in loo of a greeting.
Peter of course, had a good reason for being late: a young girl of about 3 had lost her mum, and, as Spiderman, he had helped her find her mum again. Of course he couldn't go telling Tony that, it was already on the news that Spiderman had helped a young girl find her mother, so that would be slightly suspicious.
To the wheel of excuses, Peter decided. Mentally spinning it in his head, it landed on "blame traffic". This was all done in his mind in less than half a second, since you know, he was a genius, and his mind just worked furiously fast.
'Traffic was crazy.' Peter answered with a shrug. Clint raised his eyebrows at that:
'You walk to work.'
Peter rolled his eyes drammatically: 'Yeah, and I need to cross streets to get to places, which I can't do if cars keep zooming past, now can I?' he replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm he felt Clint didn't deserve. Oh well, it was for the secret identity. Clint scoffed and turned to Tony:
'Yep, he's deffinetly yours alright.'
