Spoke knew that Diamond Player was Minute, he could feel the way they looked at Spoke. The gaze was oh so familiar to him, he knew deep down who it actually was. Spoke wanted to see Minute again, he'd do anything to see Minute again. So, he found a way to.

Work Text:

Spoke felt the gazing eyes on him, he knew someone was watching. He had sneaked into the Invisible Mafia with Planet. Leo was already a member, so Leo didn’t technically sneak in, well he did, just not with Spoke and Planet. Spoke was on a mission to get to Mapicc as quickly as possible. He needed his other half.

When the three walked into the city and explored Spoke felt eyes on him. He knew it was Planet or Leo, he knew what their gazes felt like. This gaze was familiar though, almost like he knew the person. Who in the Mafia would stare at him that he knew. The answer dawned on him pretty quickly, who else would it be. MinuteTech. Spoke looked around, he hasn’t seen Minute since he betrayed him.

He ‘locked’ eyes with a diamond player standing on a pillar. He heard Leo in the ear piece not to talk to him but he knew who the player was. He wanted to reach out and be held by Minute again. He knew it wouldn’t happen though. He held out George Jr. and hoped Minute would come down himself. But, he didn’t and he wouldn’t. Spoke knew that, but Spoke could only hope.

Spoke, Leo, and Planet searched a small prison and found Mapicc. Planet ‘took’ Mapicc’s spot in reality he when invisible and got out of the Mafia terrain. Mapicc didn’t know that Minute betrayed and he wouldn’t know. Spoke couldn’t bare to say it aloud. It was something him and Planet knew. Something only him and Planet would know.

Spoke wasn’t there for majority of the conversations between Leo and Mapicc. He was there physically, but not mentally. He couldn’t bare to listen to anything. Everything hurt, how could Minute betray him like that. Spoke’s brain physically couldn’t think why Minute would hurt him like that. Spoke, the person who seemed like Minute’s everything. Just gone, betrayed, tried killing him. Spoke couldn’t wrap his mind around that fact.

The three of them waited to get their tasks from a gold player, they needed to level up in the Mafia if they wanted to get anywhere. They all held out their respective items so they knew who one another was. Spoke felt the eyes on him again and he tensed up. He knew it wasn’t Leo or Mapicc, he knew what their gazes felt like. No, this was the one person he wanted by his side right now. The one person he knew couldn’t be by his side right now. He so ever wished though.

Spoke looked up and saw the diamond player on another pillar staring at his group. He knew his eyes were focused on Spoke though. He could feel it, he also knew who it was. He felt tears weld in his eyes but he wiped them away. He stared at the diamond player. He didn’t listen to a word Leo or Mapicc said in the headset. He was too focused on the diamond player he knew was Minute.

Spoke moped around it didn’t matter what Leo or Mapicc did. He wanted to be held by Minute again. He wanted to be told everything will be okay. To be told that he didn’t have to worry about anything. He was lied to. Minute lied to him. Minute promised that he would also be there for Spoke, that he wouldn’t harm Spoke, that he wouldn’t loose hope or trust in Spoke. But, he did and there’s not a doubt about that.

It was a bad night in the Mafia, Spoke was shaking. Leo and Mapicc were in other parts of the house they were all sharing which still required them to stay invisible. He was curled up in his bed. His legs up to his chest and his chin on his knees. He longed for Minute, for the touch he hasn’t felt in weeks because Minute lied and left him.

Spoke felt the fog wind up in his mind. He knew it’d happen sooner or later, he normally let it consume him. He wasn’t safe anymore though. Minute left him and he was in an unfamiliar place. Leo and Mapicc was with him but it wasn’t the same. He wanted his dad. He needed his dad. Minute knew how to help him, the other two didn’t. They could figure it out but he didn’t want them to. He wanted Minute and Minute is who he’ll get.

Spoke was never the smartest, he proved this by fastening his armor on horribly. Sue him, he wasn’t in the right mindset and was younger than he normally was. Mentally at least, physically he was still tall as hell. He walked around outside holding George Jr. he hoped Minute was out and about. He prayed he was. Spoke needed his dad.

Spoke walked around aimlessly, he had one goal and that was to see Minute. Spoke was tired and upset. He was invisible but he could feel the tear streaks on his face from where he was crying before. Spoke was starting to get restless, he missed Minute. Why wasn’t he showing up now.

Spoke was losing hope. He sat down at a bench, his armor digging into his skin because he didn’t know how to fasten it correctly. He felt eyes on him, those oh so familiar eyes he knew oh so well. His head searched everywhere till he saw the diamond armor trims. He wasn’t letting Minute get away so fast. Spoke was a tall kid which made him a fast kid. He stood up from the bench shakily and sprinted to where the diamond player was.

Spoke was steps away when he leaped for the player. He made contact with the player and hugged him tight. The diamond player wasn’t expecting it and just allowed themselves to be knocked to the ground. Spoke stopped hugging after what felt like ever. He leaned back and placed a sign down and wrote a small message.

“join vc now. pelwase you promsiwd not to leave n’ you did.” The sign had said. Spoke saw the player read it then he destroyed the sign.

Spoke heard a ding in his ear. It was his ear piece signaling someone joined his call.

“Hey Spoke,” It was Minute’s voice. Spoke has never felt so much relief in a singular moment.

“Dad?” Spoke’s voice cracked. He missed Minute so much.

“I’m here now Spoke, I’m so, sorry. I didn’t mean for you to get hurt.” Minute’s voice was softer than normal. His words laced with guilt.

“You— You hurt me. You lied dad, dad you lied to me. You said— said that you wouldn’t leave me, wouldn’t hurt me, but, but you did. Why?” Spoke felt the tears weld in his eyes again. His r’s sounding like w’s and his voice sounding more kid like.

Minute knew, he knew Spoke was a kid. He couldn’t lie to the kid though. His kid. He couldn’t like to his kid again.

“I know bubs, I know I lied and I’m so, sorry. I’m here now though. I’ll protect you now. Nothing can hurt you now bubs.” Minute pulled Spoke into a crushing hug again.

“You tried hurting me…” Spoke’s voice was weak and tired. He was aching and his stupid armor was still digging into his skin. It didn’t help Minute had him in a crushing hug. He normally wouldn’t complain but his armor was making everything ache more.

Minute pulled away when he heard Spoke whimpering from pain. Minute realized Spoke’s armor wasn’t fastened on correctly. Minute quickly fixed it so it’d be more comfortable for Spoke.

“Whose base we going to bubs?” Minute always liked to give out options. He never wanted Spoke to think he didn’t have an option.

“I miss mape…” Spoke’s voice was soft, he was either really tired or really hyper when he felt more kid like. He was normally on the hyper side though, seeing him calm wasn’t new but a rare experience.

“We can head over to your home area bubs, it’ll be easier too as you can’t go up to the diamond level.” Minute looked at Spoke, they were both invisible but Minute can vision Spoke’s doe eyes. Spoke’s eyes were always doe like but became more doe like when he was in a younger mindset.

Spoke grabbed Minute’s hand and led Minute the way. He knew Minute was looking over him and most likely knew where he lived but it was okay. He guided Minute as he kept the two invisible. Spoke knew Mapicc and Leo might’ve been panicking, Spoke did just up and leave without telling anyone.

Spoke reached where he was staying and opened the door. He heard rustling and Mapicc appeared in front of him looking a tad frantic. Mapicc set a sign down. Spoke read the sign aloud, though only Minute could hear him.

“Join call now…” Spoke read aloud. He looked at Minute whose hand he was still holding. Minute nodded. “Will you join with me?” Spoke tilted his head and Minute nodded again.

Spoke joined the voice chat with Mapicc and Leo. He winced when Mapicc’s frantic voice went a hundred miles an hour asking Spoke why he thought it’d be a good idea to just run off without telling him or Leo. Spoke shrugged, he didn’t have really that good of an answer.

“Also, why is there a diamond player in our house!?” Mapicc didn’t try to lash out but he was also scared. Spoke is like family to him and doesn’t know what he would do without Spoke.

“I wanted dad…” Spoke’s voice meek. Mapicc raised an eyebrow at that then realized what was up with Spoke.

“Bubs, why didn’t you tell me? You know I would’ve hanged out with you” Mapicc’s face softened. Spoke couldn’t see because they were all invisible but Spoke knew Mapicc by now. His face changed with his tone.

“Min was around… I wanted dad” Spoke had a pout, an obvious one at that. Mapicc knew immediately, Spoke always got more pouty when younger.

“Hey Mapes, sorry for intruding like this but I couldn’t say no to Spoke.” Minute wasn’t mean, and Mapicc was confused. Why was Minute back in the mafia. Why was he a diamond player. There were so many why’s going through his head.

“Why?” Is all that left Mapicc’s mouth, he had no better questions other than why. “I never wanted to hurt you guys.” Minute cringed, he didn’t want to explain everything he went through. Not while Spoke couldn’t comprehend half of it.

Spoke whined, he wanted attention. Everyone was talking and ignoring him now. He hated being ignored, he found Minute so he wouldn’t be ignored but he was. He just wanted to be loved. He also wanted this armor off of him but that was a later issue. He knew Mapicc or Minute didn’t hear his whine. They were both still talking about whatever, he didn’t care enough to comprehend any of it.

Spoke stood there the voices of Mapicc and Minute rising but he didn’t listen to what they were saying. He just wanted to be cared for. He finally had enough of his armor and tried getting it off himself but he couldn’t. He couldn’t and something inside him broke. He kept tugging and wishing it would come off but it just wouldn’t. His hands weren’t working correctly. He knew the exploits messed up his hands but he didn’t think it was so bad he couldn’t take off his own armor.

Spoke kept trying and trying nothing would work though. He was able to take his helmet and boots off but his chest plate and leggings wouldn’t come off. He yanked and pulled but nothing happened. He was achy and tired and just a kid who wanted attention. His chest plate and leggings wouldn’t unfasten and he started crying. That had finally broken Mapicc and Minute out of their argument. Spoke threw his helmet to the ground and stood there crying. He was acting like a toddler crying over spilled milk.

Mapicc was the first to move and scoop Spoke in his arms. Spoke flailed his arms and tried pushing Mapicc away. “I want out!” Spoke raised his voice through tears. “Out of what bubs?” Mapicc wiped tears away from Spoke’s invisible face, it didn’t help much though. More tears flooded from Spoke’s face.

“My armor, get me out!” Spoke whined and flailed still. He just wanted out. Mapicc kept his hands on Spoke’s face to help ground him while Minute started unbuckling his chest plate and leggings. When Spoke felt the pressure come off his body he cried in relief.

Spoke leaned into Mapicc’s touch and rested his chin on Mapicc’s shoulder. Minute hugged him from behind having Spoke be in a sandwich position but he didn’t mind much. He wanted to be held. He was also being held by his two favorite people so it didn’t matter much to him what was happening. He was comfortable and finally calming down.

He didn’t know what Mapicc and Minute were arguing about but that doesn’t matter to him. He’s just happy he has both of them back and they’re giving him all their attention. He couldn’t ask for anything more. He buried his head in Mapicc’s neck and started slowly falling asleep. He heard faint voices but it all went over his head. He was just happy he had Mapicc and Minute with him again.
