Sterile Peril

Summary:

Ranger has to go to the hospital for work stuff, and it causes a compulsive breakdown. Evie and Claire help them out.

Later some fun happens between the three.

After ‘If you asked, I’d say yes’

Work Text:

Ranger passed Diane’s empty desk, she’d been sick for a couple days now but they still expected her to appear behind it and scold them about working too much after their injury at any moment. They were still a tad tense now and then but Claire had done an incredible job healing them considering the damage, they weren’t going to complain about a little stiffness. Especially because she’d probably start blaming herself for not doing a good enough job.

However, they had promised her to let her know about any problems… they would tell her after work. Besides the idea of her hands moving across their back with some healing magic sounded pretty good, hell just having her hands moving across their back in general would probably relieve all kinds of tension… and maybe build up a different kind- no, no they were working. They had to be professional, none of those thoughts while they were working.

They shook their head and looked through a checklist that Diane had texted them, outlining what duties she had that couldn’t wait until she got back. They had split the list with Dewdrop, and the two had been doing their best. Ranger had to remember to bake for her more often because it felt this woman had to be some kind of supernatural being in order to be doing all this.

Ranger looked at the last item that was left, and it looked to be essentially delivering some health report… things to… the… hospital…

They stopped, they should have read the description of this task more thoroughly. The two had simply split the list 50/50, flipping a coin to see who got the top and bottom half. They could ask Dewdrop to do this… but they were dealing with a small flare-up right now, and had already finished their half of the list only a couple minutes ago.

No, no they could do this. They had survived getting blown up, dealt with the dangers of the woods, and asked out Claire. Compared to all that, visiting the hospital's records department should be a piece of cake. Besides they probably weren’t going to go into the main hospital, records were often kept in a separate building or a separate section of the building that had its own entrance. It probably wouldn’t even look like the rest of the hospital. Totally. Hopefully.

A relatively short drive that felt like an eternity later, Ranger was parked outside of the Hospital. They’d managed to avoid hospitals by going to smaller clinics like the one in Glenwood, which still made them nervous but were still often different enough that they could manage. Still they were clenching onto their door handle as if letting go would cause them to fall straight to the Earth’s core.

Ranger closed their eyes to take some deep breaths, trying some of the calming methods that Claire had helped them learn. When they looked up they were able to open the door and walk towards the hospital. They looked at the external sign and were immediately relieved, the records were in a side addition and they wouldn’t need to go through the main hospital to drop the papers off. Turning in that direction, they headed away from the main entrance and could feel the tension begin to ease almost immediately. It didn’t go away wholly but it was definitely easier to bear.

They went inside the door… and blinked. The interior was eerily similar to the Ranger’s Station in several ways, the chairs were the same, the desks were different but similar enough and the same brand, hell even the flooring didn’t look too far off. They guessed that it must have just been an overlap in suppliers for office supplies, similar areas and all that. The walls solidly broke the similarities, but unfortunately it was because they seemed to match the walls of the rest of the hospital. It also all smelled distinctly of disinfectant cleaners.

Trying to remain calm but also avoid taking any deep or rapid breaths, they moved into line. It was only one or two people but they had really been hoping they could just drop this shit off and get going. Immediately their foot began tapping nervously, they stopped it and tried to focus on other things. Not even a minute later and they were tapping their foot and fidgeting with the buttons on their shirt. Ranger kept from making a frustrated sound, and grabbed their leg to try and stop.

The first person was thankfully finished in only a couple of minutes, and on their way. Internally Ranger wanted to hug that person for being done so quickly, they could only hope the next person would be done just as quickly. She only seemed to have a few papers, this shouldn’t be too bad. Trying to distract themselves from their surroundings they began taking in the details of the people around them instead.

The clerks seemed to be bored, focused, or both. They were able to dress in normal clothes which they found greatly relaxing, occasionally a doctor or nurse walked in for something which they weren’t too bad with. It was more the environment of the hospital that scared them than doctors or nurses. There were a few other lines with people in them, one or two might be from Glenwood? If they had met those people it would have only been in passing. Others looked like they might be lawyers, or work for companies important enough that they need to wear suits. The rest just looked like normal people from the nearby area. The woman before them was giving off sort of karen vibes at the moment, but they weren’t going to make that assumption just yet.

About twenty minutes later they feel like they should trust their assessments more often, as this lady was giving them a headache and they weren’t even the one dealing with her. They had attempted to give the clerk some support a few times, only to end up getting screamed at each time. They truly felt bad for the clerk, but their nerves were really starting to fray here and they needed to get through this.

After what felt like three weeks later, but the clock said was about thirty more minutes, the lady finally either got what she needed done or simply left in frustration, or something they weren’t sure. They nodded to the clerk and handed over the paperwork. “Dropping this off, Glenwood Ranger Station paperwork.”

The clerk blinked and immediately perked up. “Oh? Is Diane with you?”

Ranger shook their head. “She’s out sick, I’m picking up some of her work while she recovers.”

“Oh, well let her know I said hi, and that I hope she gets better soon! She still owes me another coffee date.”

They smiled and nodded, looking at her nametag. “Right, will do Janice. Ah, do you need me to do anything? Or is that it?”

“Oh just a drop off dearie, I won’t hold you up if you need to get back to work.”

Ranger had gotten maybe a quarter of the way into the report before it again just became too much, they tossed aside the coat and took the clock. They stormed through the central workspace and opened a spare storage closet, tossed it on a random junk shelf and shut the door with a little more force than was needed. Back in their office they took a breath and looked at their fingers, they’d nicked one on the corner of the plate they had been trying to pry open to take out the batteries. They opened their lower desk drawer and pulled out their first aid kit, they cleaned it with one of those small wipes, and put on a bandaid.

A random memory popped up from when Claire had visited their house to bake. ‘Well I wouldn’t say sterile…’ They took in sharp breath to try and shove that thought as far away as possible as quickly as possible, but that was a drastic mistake. The smell of the disinfectant from the cleaner filled their nose, and they coughed as the sudden surprise and fear hit at the same time as the strong scent. Ranger shook their head and looked around, trying to hold onto the familiar surroundings, but they were too similar to that fucking hospital records section. Which was too similar to the actual hospital. They needed to change it, it needed to be different.

Three office reorganizations later and it still wasn’t helping. They’d gotten three or four paper cuts, they weren’t sure. They had patched up the first two, but couldn’t do it anymore. The wipes just made things worse and worse so they had just closed up the first aid kit and slammed shut the drawer. They’d already received several bruises as well from moving the heavy things around the room with injured hands, causing them to lose their grip and hit themself on accident. Still it was wrong, everything was wrong, they had to fix it, they had to fix it, they can’t stop now, they had to fix it.

Ranger had moved things around like five, eight more times? They weren’t sure, they were starting to get tired. They ached from moving around heavy furniture and full filing cabinets around, from all the bruises and bumps they had that were sure to ache even more later. The dozen or so cuts, gashes, and pricks on their hands hurt so much and they had dripped blood onto half the furniture in their office. Though they hadn’t noticed that, all that mattered right now was that things were wrong, and they needed to fix it, they needed-

Suddenly they snapped out of it as they heard a very concerned and panicked voice. “Ranger!?”

=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=

Genevieve had been waiting for about five minutes, before she checked her phone. Ranger hadn’t sent her anything about cancelling. The two had agreed to meet and just hang out, the two had some good overlap in the various nerdoms, and had great fun talking about their hyperfixations to one another because they actually understood what the other was talking about most of the time. When there was something the other didn’t understand it was also great fun showing the other what they were talking about and dragging each other further into the other’s nerdiness. She hadn’t really pegged Ranger as someone who would be into such things, she had kind of assumed they would be all about the outdoors and working out and stuff. She was soooo glad that she had been wrong. The two had been colluding to try and get a pack D&D game going, and it could happen maybe, but it was unsure as of yet.

She gave them a quick message. ‘Hey, did something come up?’ Then she snacked a bit while reading a webcomic to wait. When she looked up she saw it had been another ten minutes, and cursed herself for falling too deep into this comic. She checked her messages and… nothing. That was odd, Ranger wasn’t one to ignore messages. They would have at least given her a busy message to let her know to leave them alone.

She could check on them… should she? They were close enough friends for that right? Yeah, no, yes? Maybe? “Ghaaaa, stop that, they’re your friend. They care about you and you care about them. You can check on them, that's totally fine.” She got up and looked outside, yeah it was dark enough. She put on her shoes, and went outside to hop in her car.

When she arrived at the Ranger’s Station, and Ranger’s truck was still here. She could still smell a little bit of their blood from the backseat as she passed it, even though Ranger had given it the most thorough cleaning they possibly could after. She might have to suggest that they just swap out those seats… wait but this smelled fresher… and it was getting stronger as she walked past the truck, not weaker. Oh no.

She charged into the Station with no hesitation, the lights were all off except for the one in Ranger’s office, and that’s where the smell was coming from. She… she could see a bloody handprint on one of the windows, and was hearing some kind of grunting and shuffling.

Genevieve sprinted as fast as she could, and with her vampire speed that meant she was there in a blink of an eye, but what she saw caught her completely off guard. She had expected a fight or something from the noise and blood, but it was just Ranger… they were an absolute mess. Their clothes were rumpled and had sweat stains, which wouldn’t be too unusual for days when they went outside to work, except they were also covered in streaks from where they had wiped their own blood on their clothes. Their hair was almost always tidy, but now it was a mess and their hat had been tossed aside, and it looks like they might have stepped on it or squished it at some point.

She gulped, and opened the door. “Ranger!?”

Ranger turned to her, their eyes looking wild and full of panic, but as they looked at her they became confused. Their gaze became unfocused, and they squeezed their eyes shut, while shaking their head. Clutching at the sides of their head they made a sound of distress and confusion. “E-Evie? Wh-what are you d-doing here? Why are you a-at th-the hospital?”

Evie blinked and took a moment to process, suddenly a few things had clicked about past conversations and why Ranger had always opted for the Clinic or Claire for help medically. “We’re not, we’re not at a hospital Ranger. We’re in your office. In the Station, at Glenwood.” She approached carefully, and slowly.

“Th-the Station? Glenwood.” Ranger took a few more breaths, backing up a moment before hitting a filing cabinet that was now in the center of their office. Slowly they sank to the ground, their legs giving out, covered in bruises, bumps, scrapes, and small cuts. “R-right, I left… I left the hospital earlier…”

Gently Evie took their wrists and carefully pulled their hands away from their head, nodding. “Yes, you’re at your office, you’re safe. I’m here.”

Ranger looked up at her, eyes slowly focusing. After a moment they looked around, then at their hands, then further down at their body. “Oh… oh hell not this. I’ve not done this in years.” Their breathing started to grow faster and more panicked again.

“Ranger, look at me. Focus on me.” She snapped her fingers before them, and they managed to follow her orders, gulping as they took some deep breaths and nodded. “Yes, yes okay focusing.”

“I’m going to get Claire okay? You need help, and the Clinic probably isn’t open right now. Considering this I don’t see any better option.”

Their eyes widened. “Wh- n-no, I’ll be fine, I just need to get home. I jus-”

Evie grabbed their chin while making an incredibly frustrated sound. “No! I am sick and tired of everyone around here trying to hide everything and push themselves further than they need to. You are hurt! You need to get these injuries looked at! You are going to get the care you need, and you are going to let me get it! You stubborn, bull-headed, moron! Do you understand me!?”

Ranger froze, feeling like they got hit with a flashbang or hit over the head. They realized this is the first time they’ve actually heard her raise her voice. Well she had squealed in excitement a few times, but that was about it. After the shock wore off they opened their mouth to argue… but she was right. She was right. They took another deep breath, and nodded as tears began to dampen their eyes. Ranger’s voice broke as they said. “O-okay.” Before leaning in and hugging her.

Evie hugged them ever so carefully with one arm, while she used her other to call Claire. “Claire, it’s an emergency. Ranger’s hurt, we need you at the Station.”

=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=

Ranger wasn’t sure if she’d run in wolf form or driven, but Claire had gotten there fast, if she had driven they were sure she’d broken every speed limit along the way.

Claire looked around the room with wide eyes, but as soon as she saw Ranger she focused and got to work. The injuries were all minor, but there were just so many of them. She focused on the cuts first, to make sure Ranger didn’t lose any more blood. The process took a good while, but even at the start she could see the relief flooding through Ranger. “What the hell happened hotshot?”

They took a very shaky breath. “I- I uhm, h-had to drop off some paperwork at th-the hospital and… it just looked so much like my office… I couldn’t get how sterile it felt out of my head. C-compulsions took over, needed to fix it, couldn’t stop myself. N-not sure how long. I-ignored the injuries, the pain was there but didn't snap me out of it. Eventually Evie found me, it broke my focus and the compulsions broke too. Usually takes more than that, think she interrupted at just the perfect moment.” Ranger looked up to her, tears now freely flowing. “I- I thought this part was over… I haven’t done this in so long… I- I’m s-sor-”

Claire gently cupped their cheeks while placing her thumbs over their lips, and rested her forehead against theirs. “Hey, hey there. What was our rule? No saying sorry when this kind of stuff happens. It isn’t your fault. I have you, and you have me alright? You have me, and I have you.”

They blinked a few times and nodded, their hands lifting to gently hold her hands. A few seconds later her thumbs moved out of the way and they both kissed. It wasn’t very long, or very deep but it was positively bursting with emotion and the two could feel that in the cores of their being. After breaking away Ranger looked a bit more calm, and laughed gently. “Hey, we’re in my territory now. What makes you think you can give me orders here?”

Claire chuckled and kissed them again, before sitting back a bit. “I suppose that is true, but too bad. Medically I have more authority than you, and I say it’s in your best medical interest hotshot.”

They grinned, and wiped at their cheeks. “Alright, alright. As you say Doc Alpha.”

“Oh. My. God.”

Ranger and Claire blinked. Oh, right, Evie was here.

Evie was looking back and forth between them, a stunned and possibly awed expression on her face. “Oh-my-god. Ohmygod!”

Ranger couldn’t help it, they just laughed, it felt so good to just laugh right now.

“You two- you’re-”

Claire sighed, but she was smiling, and she nudged Ranger gently in the side.

“Oh my god finally you two! Do you know how long we’ve all been waiting!? Ohhhh Seer owes me twenty bucks! Huh, really didn’t think I would win a bet against an Oracle but here we are.” She shrugged.

“You can keep this a secret right?” Ranger gives her a look.

Evie gives them a betrayed look. “Are you kidding me!? I- you both know how absolutely horrible I am at lying! I’m going to have to do it so much if I do that. No way…” She looks around the office. “...though this, this I can. You can tell the others if you want, but I won’t say anything.”

Ranger looked around, having somehow forgotten about all of their office for a few brief moments. “I- th-thank you Evie… could I ask you two for some help in… cleaning it up and putting things back where they were?”

“Oh of course!” “Whatever you need hotshot.”

=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=

Evie and Claire absolutely refused to let Ranger help.

“Claire healed me up, I feel fine. It’s my office!”

Claire had been about to rebuke them, but Evie got there first. “Absolutely not! You are going to stand back, or better yet sit back, and let us do this! You get to tell us where things go and that is it! Claire, get the cleaning supplies, I’ll start moving furniture.”

The alpha blinked, she was used to Ranger trying to boss her around, she was used to dealing with the bureau, she was not used to Genevieve taking charge. She was so surprised that she hadn’t really thought about it until she had come back with the cleaning supplies and Ranger was sitting while guiding Evie on where to put the furniture.

With the strength and speed of a vampire and a shifter things got done quickly. That with Evie being able to find all the blood things were cleaned up very quickly too. Ranger had gone outside for that part, so they could breathe the open air. Evie made sure to turn on some fans to get the cleaner smell out of the space by the next time they came back.

Once the two came outside they looked and smiled. “Thank you both, so much. I would hug you again… but I probably have gotten enough blood on your clothe-” Ranger was quickly hugged by both Claire and Evie, and they returned the embrace immediately. It felt odd at first, but then the coolness of Evie and the warmth of Claire felt quite nice.

After a couple of minutes of hugging the three split. Claire spoke first. “I don’t know about you all but I’m feeling like eating something not at all healthy for me.”

“Order delivery to my place?” Ranger held up their truck keys. “I’m thinking big, meat covered pizzas.”

Evie nodded. “I’m down for that, it can be a late dinner hangout, and don’t think I’m not going to be asking both of you heaps of questions about when you two started.”

“On second thought-” “Y’know maybe I should go back to the den-” “Heyyy c’mon you two!”

=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=

(This is where things get spicy, if you don’t wanna see that then don’t continue.)

Claire and Evie had made sure that Ranger was drinking plenty of water, but they couldn’t keep them away from the cheesy garlic breadsticks, not that either actually tried.

Ranger had gotten changed into pajamas, and had gotten spare clothes for the others as well. They’d started their own stockpile of spare clothes for the pack just in case. You never know when someone might need it because they had to shift in normal clothing. Or apparently to change into something when your clothes are covered in blood. Evie apparently had a good way for washing it out, it was something Celine had taught her. They would do that in the morning though.

Right now they were having a great time talking with Evie and Claire over pizza, at some point they had ended up on Claire’s lap. They didn’t mind, and it was clearly making Evie giddy with excitement. “I still can’t believe you two had to literally fight to confess. I owe Beth ten bucks now. I guess I’m only up ten in the pools so far.”

“Right, yes, about that. How many of you have been betting, and for how long?” Ranger was a little annoyed and a little amused.

“Oh, pretty much the whole pack, and for like over a year now. We’re going to need to sort through all the bets to figure how much everyone owes one another.” She says nonchalantly as she dips her breadstick in some marinara sauce. “The biggest money is on one that started as a joke, but now we’re kind of invested. So… uhm…” Evie blushes. “Actually I think I’ll let Beth ask that one.”

Claire eyes her, the groans. “She started a bet on who tops didn’t she.”

“It’s me.” Ranger chuckles.

“Oh you wish hotshot.” She kissed their neck and Ranger’s brain short-circuited. “Ah- wha- Claire!”

Evie blushed more but giggled too. “To be fair there is a decent amount on switch for both of you.”

Ranger tilts their head and gives a so-so motion with their hand. “Yeah that’s kind of it.”

“Okayyyy, that’s enough about that.” Claire sighed. She brushes aside some of Ranger’s hair, and notices a small cut she missed. Gently brushing her thumb against it she heals the cut, and then reaches for a napkin to clean it off. The shifter is surprised to find Evie’s hand around her wrist, stopping her.

Evie looks at the blood, then looks at the others, a bit embarrassed. “I ahm, started getting hungry a bit ago. You… well you smell really good Ranger, it just felt wrong before. D-do either of you mind if I…”

Ranger blinked, and after a moment shrugged. “I don’t mind, but it is Claire’s thumb.”

Claire’s cheeks color a little but she nodded. “Go ahead.”

Evie leaned in and took the thumb into her mouth, gently sucking off the blood.

Claire cupped her cheek without really thinking about it, and pressed her thumb into Evie’s mouth a little more.

Both Ranger and Evie felt Claire’s heartbeat quicken a little, and Ranger had to admit they didn’t mind this sight.

After a few moments Evie pulled away, looking still a bit embarrassed but she couldn’t take her eyes off of the others.

Ranger bit their lip, and made a soft thoughtful sound. “Are you still hungry Evie? We could maybe… help if you are?”

Claire shifted in her seat beneath Ranger, suddenly feeling more than a little restless. Her arms slid around Ranger in an embrace, and there was a possessiveness to it but it wasn’t quite a shutting out gesture.

Evie swayed a little bit, taking a moment to clear her head. She definitely trusted both of them, and she was really hungry right now… and they both smelled really, really good. Claire had that shifter and blood-mage combo, both she and Ranger were very healthy people who clearly worked out. Healthier blood always tasted better and satisfied more. “I… are you both sure? Ranger, you've already lost a fair amount of blood, a-and with what happened to you b-before.”

They shrugged. “I’ve done blood donations that have hit me much harder than this, I’m alright. Plus you two made sure I drank plenty of water, and I have all kinds of cookies in my pantry. I want to help you if you need it… and I’m curious about it. From what I’m told when all involved are willing it’s actually quite nice.”

Claire gave a nod, but gave Ranger a look. “I still think that you should take it easy on them if you drink any. I can cover the rest.” She tilts her head. “Should we… take this to the bedroom?”

Evie thought about it a bit more, before nodding. “If you’re both sure it would really help… and it is something I’m curious to try.”

Claire nodded again and scooped up Ranger in a princess carry, ignoring any and all complaints on the way to the bedroom.

Evie followed along giggling, seeing Ranger clearly flustered and in such a cute way was something she’d like to see more often.

Once inside the bedroom Claire plopped her lover onto their bed, and helped them scoot over so she could lie down beside them, but with a Evie sized gap between the two. The couple looked up at her, both gently smiling and letting her join them at her own pace.

Evie blushed quite a bit, she hadn’t expected to be between the two, but as the idea processed through her mind she realized that it was probably the thing she wanted most right now. So she gently climbed in, and settled in between the two. “So ahm, h-how do we want to sta-ahhh!” Her words cut off into surprise, but one that was hardly unwelcome.

Both Ranger and Claire hadn’t hesitated to snuggle up in and closely to her, and their movements were quite in sync. The two had gotten incredibly close, and that bond had allowed them to sort of anticipate one another. So timing their kisses along her neck one after the other was simple but clearly effective.

“Mmn~ H-hey I’m supposed to be putting my lips on you two!” They both paused. “I- I didn’t say stop…” Claire chuckled and Ranger made a soft, hungry sound before they both started up again. Ranger had started pulling up Evie’s shirt while Claire had begun pulling down her pants. Evie was in her own little heaven at the moment, two very good looking and strong people on either side of her offering up a nice meal and taking off her clothes to boot.

A few seconds of rustling cloth later and the others tossed aside their own clothes as well. Claire had moved atop Evie a bit, now kissing along her collarbone with a strong leg pressed between Evie’s. Ranger meanwhile has slid in a bit behind her, gently nibbling at the back of Evie’s neck, while their hands were gently exploring her sides and waist. Evie was a bit surprised at how gentle they were both being, the two were both very strong, and she’d seen them both spar at pack get togethers. Not to mention how confrontational they could be, especially when around each other.

As if they had heard her thoughts the two seemed to rile up a little bit, but she noticed after a few moments that they seemed to be pushing at one another, and pressing themselves closer to her. Oh for crying out loud were they actually fighting around her? It didn’t feel like they were fighting over her as neither of them were pulling or pushing her away from the other, but still did these two ever quit!?

A while later and she was understanding that no they didn’t quit, they had scored a few bruises on one another including hickeys, and had a few make out sessions that looked like some kind of battle of passion. Neither one had left her alone though, Ranger had been playing with her breasts, and trailing their hands across her form in the most tantalizing ways that there was no way that they hadn’t done this kind of thing before. Meanwhile Claire had slipped two fingers inside of her folds, and was now getting her tantalizingly close to the edge. Oh and she still hadn’t actually fed yet which made her wonder how much the two had actually just been horny.

She gasped as she felt herself about to finally get release. “Cl-close!~” Was all she could get out before… Claire stopped? Claire chuckled and made only the gentlest motions to keep Evie at the edge but not let her past it. Meanwhile one of Ranger’s hands slid up her neck, and gently traced from one end of her jaw to the other, slowly exposing their wrist to her lips. She was beginning to wonder if Ranger was hiding some kind of telepathy and was linking in Claire, because the two just seemed to know too much and they were just so in sync even while fighting each other.

The way the two battled was so careful and yet aggressive, endearing yet challenging, intense yet intimate. How the hell did they actually make fighting each other actually kind of cute. She could see it in Claire’s eyes and could feel Ranger’s gaze from behind her, the two were deeply in love with one another. She wondered for a moment if she was some kind of buffer to keep them from beating each other up too much, by using their desire to keep her safe from harm… wait, that was exactly what was happening… she didn’t necessarily hate it… in fact that was kind of sweet. Definitely new and a bit odd, but she was certainly enjoying herself. Speaking of it was time to take the meal Ranger was offering.

Evie was a bit hesitant for a moment, a bit nervous with Ranger’s past, so she looked back to check on them. Their eyes met hers and they softened quite a bit, though there certainly still was that challenging energy in them, they smiled and nodded to her. There was a calmness to them, an acceptance and trust, trust in her and that she wouldn’t cause them true harm. Turning back to their wrist she bit in carefully but cleanly, knowing that she could cause more damage with hesitation and uncertainty.

Ranger let out a soft gasp, then a pleased whine, they had heard it felt quite nice when done consensually and they had heard correctly. Evie found she really liked Ranger’s taste, all the outdoor exploring and exercise gave their blood that was closer to a shifter’s than to the blood bags she drank from. The freshness was likely a big factor, but she didn’t doubt that Ranger’s way of living made it so delicious. After a bit she could feel that she was getting to a point she should stop, so she pulled away.

Not even a moment later Claire was in closer, and her shoulder was before Evie’s lips and fresh off that first taste she didn’t wait nearly as long. She said one word. “Still.” Immediately the others both slowed to stillness to let her bite in carefully to drink, and oh holy fuck she could see why Valera enjoyed Claire so much. Claire gasped and made sounds quite similar to Ranger’s.

Evie had a bit more trouble keeping enough of her thoughts to be able to pull away, it certainly didn’t help that she was still ever so close. Claire and Ranger had made sure to make their touches even lighter while she fed, still keeping her on the edge.

Once she finally did pull away they descended upon her with no mercy, and she clutched against them both and finally let out a cry of ecstasy as the world around her flooded with pleasure.

Evie came to her senses a bit later to find herself in a cuddle sandwich, both of the others were clearly very warm and were enjoying her coolness. The now empty pitchers of water on the bedside table told her that they had been taking care of themselves, good she would have made them drink if they hadn’t. For now it was time to rest.
