Containment Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-M001 are to be held within a standard containment cell, lined with explosion proof materials. Both the inside and outside of the cells must be coated in rubber insulation to prevent any form of electrical charge. Lighting rods are to be built into the insides of the walls of the containment cells and should only come out when instances of SCP-M001-2 have been detected. Large batteries capable of containing at least 10 gigawatts of electricity must be connected to these lighting rods at all times. No instances of SCP-M001 may be within close proximity to another entity of the same classification.
Entering the containment cell of SCP-M001 is expressly forbidden, unless absolutely necessary. If personnel need to enter SCP-M001’s containment cell, they must do so while wearing full body rubber suits. When entering the cells of SCP-M001, no part of the personnel may be visible to the entities, unless they wish for said entities to become aggressive. It’s recommended that a feline of any kind accompany the personnel member as they enter the containment cell as the entity seems to have a strong fear of any member of the feline family.
Description: SCP-M001, and all instances of it, is a slender creature that reaches 1.5 meters in height. The entity has no arms but does have four short legs. SCP-M001’s skin is light green and covered in white and dark green spots. It has two eyes, both of which are completely black, irises and sclera included. It has no nose, but it does have a mouth lined with a row of sharp teeth. Though the entity doesn’t use this as a means of attack due to its main anomalous ability. It should also be noted that this entity does not seem to require any form of sustenance to continue moving nor does it seem to sleep. Instances of SCP-M001 are known to just wander the insides of their cells, only occasionally stopping for a few moments before continuing to move once again.
When a human enters the line of sight of any instance of SCP-M001, the entity becomes aggressive and will start moving towards the person. It should be noted that even when in an aggressive state, the entity does not seem to be able to move faster than a walking pace. If the person is completely covered, then the entities don’t seem to enter into an aggressive state. If the entity manages to get within half of a meter of the person in their aggressive state, the entity will explode. The strength of the explosion is enough to fatally wound any personnel not wearing protective gear. If multiple instances of SCP-M001 are within close proximity to each other, one of them exploding can lead to a chain reaction of explosions, further increasing the amount of damage dealt to the surrounding environment.
Instances of SCP-M001 also have a secondary anomalous ability and that is their ability to absorb large amounts of electricity. When an instance of SCP-M001 gathers 10 gigawatts of electricity, or the equivalent of one lightning bolt, the entity will start glowing a light blue color as sparks of electricity begin to emanate from its body. This form has been labeled as SCP-M001-2. In this charged form, if it enters an aggressive state, the entity will not only become faster but its explosion upon death seems to cause at least twice as much damage as its non-charged counterpart. If an instance of SCP-M001 has somehow entered a charged state, no personnel may enter its containment cell under any circumstances. It’s possible to return the entity back to its original form, but doing so is an incredibly arduous task. The electricity absorbed by the entity will have to be slowly absorbed by the lightning rods as doing so rapidly leads to the entity immediately exploding(See Report M001.1).

“Note for any future interactions involving SCP-M001-2: When attempting to return the entity to its original state, lightning rods in the room must be set to low level absorption. The most recent incident involving SCP-M001-2 has shown that any attempt to rapidly absorb the electricity flowing through its body will cause it to activate its anomalous ability. This incident has cost the foundation a severe amount of money to repair not just the containment cell the entity was in but also the electrical systems Facility [REDACTED] uses as the explosion short-circuited everything almost leading to a facility wide containment breach if the backup systems didn’t boot up just in time.”
