For one reason or the other, Akaza started visiting Kyoujuro at the Rengoku House. It had been some time since their auspicious first meeting, and Kyojuro’s injuries had healed nicely enough.
Akaza hadn’t wanted him to die, so instead of punching a hole straight through Kyoujuro’s abdomen, he had just burst some of his internal organs a little. Then he had run from the sun, the annoying Hanafuda brat too busy catering to Kyoujuro to say anything. It hadn’t been a bad night.
Maybe he had had a punishment session with Muzan, but it had been worth it to keep Kyoujuro alive.
Now, Akaza visited Kyoujuro every week, and though these meetings had started forcibly by Akaza, he knew that now Kyoujuro enjoyed his company. It was such a good strategic move to not have killed Kyoujuro that day. As long as Kyoujuro was alive, Akaza could convince him to turn into a demon.
Unexpectedly, that occasion occurred that night.
”I think I’d let you turn me into a demon,” Kyoujuro said, his voice determined.
Akaza was stunned.
”Really?!” Akaza shouted, beaming at Kyoujuro. “What made you change your mind? Is it the power that comes with it? The possibilities of training?”
Kyoujuro looked at him with a smile, so much fondness stored inside.
“Of course it was you.” He proclaimed.
Akaza fell to his knees, speechless.
Kyoujuro continued, “I realized I couldn’t live without you in my life, and the Demon Slayer Corps would never allow you to continue living if they knew about us.”
Akaza couldn’t believe it. “Are you sure?”
Kyoujuro kneeled too, in front him, and took Akaza’s hands in his, “I am. Let’s keep fighting forever.”
Akaza’s chest felt tight, breathless. An unwelcome arm draped around him.
”Akaza-dono!” Douma’s horrible voice exclaimed, “Once again lost in the clouds? This has been happening too frequently; I’m worried. Was it since you killed that Flame Pillar?”
Akaza cut off his head. “Don’t touch me,” he growled.
Douma regenerated, and he laughed. “I’m just expressing my genuine emotions. Since you’re so obsessed with him, want to know something? That Flame Pillar had a little brother, you know. What a pity; to leave your family behind, grieving your loss. Poor thing.” He finished with feigned sympathy.
Akaza glowered at him. “How do you know that? Stop it!”
Douma laughed some more. “I’ll tell you over a meal, how about it?”
Akaza replied, “I’d rather die.”
He walked away, Douma’s terrible whining in the background.
So Kyoujuro had a little brother…
Akaza had to adjust his fantasies a bit.
