At first he thought it was a fluke. He had heard of the soulmate shimmer with its ability to appear at any time in ones late teenage years, but never expected to see one himself. He was comfortable in his position in the world, at peace with his ace identity and content with his platonic love and books.
So waking on his 16th birthday he was shocked to discover that tell-tale glimmer emanating from every book he saw. The library was lit like a beacon. His soulmate was the written word, knowledge in all its forms, and he was happy.
