when a child was born in the colonies, in the 18th century, the parents knew that they might never see them grow up. Samuels parents were scared for their son. His parents were afraid, terrified even, that someone might find out what lies hidden, bound away, beneath their sons loose shirt, or what someone might do to him when they found out.
