They watched several films supposedly telling their story, including one comedy. Arthur wasn’t entirely sure who Monty Python was, but he didn’t care. He spent the whole movie watching King Arthur prance, and, two paces behind, the overlooked and overloaded— but doggedly loyal— servant.
They’d gotten that much right, at least.
As credits rolled, Arthur turned to Merlin. “That’s it? That’s the end?”
“Yeah,” Merlin said happily, finishing the popcorn.
“But… nothing was settled. All the knights died and they never found the Grail,” Arthur said, before realizing what Merlin was going to say. They’d gotten that part right, too.
