“How are you doing today, Private Southworth?”
There came a pause, silence—
—then—
“I think,” he started to say, then paused. “It depends on the day to be honest. Today is a good day. I mean, mentally. But my shoulders are hurting. So it’s a bad day for that. And other days it is the exact opposite.”
“Well,” Dr. Ramsey said, smiling. “It’s okay to take things one day at a time, Private. But I am glad things are going well, but remember there’s always someone for you to talk to.”
“Thanks,” he said.
