Work Text:
On one unfortunate day in Hell, Alastor, Lucifer, and Vox all happen to see each other on the street while running their respective errands. The three of them stare at each other in dismayed silence before Alastor breaks it by muttering, “Great, just what I needed today, running into my two least favorite people.”
Lucifer eyes him suspiciously. “But we already saw each other this morning at the hotel?”
Alastor feigns ignorance. “Oh, did we? I must have forgotten such an unimportant interaction.”
“Hey—”
“But I’m your very least favorite, right?” Vox interrupts.
Alastor just glances at him with an unreadable expression before turning back to the angel. “Lucifer, what is my name?”
“Uhhhh not the red guy, I guess?” He answers with a nervous laugh, gauging his reaction. “Huh, not good enough? Um, I think it starts with a vowel? Maybe an E? No, an A!! Yes, that’s it!” Lucifer looks far too proud of himself for coming up with this tiny fraction of a correct answer and fist pumps the air.
Vox’s jaw is practically on the ground. “You live with the guy and you can’t even remember his name?! Hold on, do you know my name?!”
Lucifer’s nervous giggles start to sound a touch hysterical and he begins backing away from the two demon overlords slowly. “I just remembered, I gotta do something back at the hotel, Vaness—, no, Vanya? Vicky?! Virginia?!” Clearly admitting defeat, he apparently decides to settle with “Charlie’s girlfriend is waiting for me to do something, byeeee!” And with that, the king of Hell flees the scene, rather gracelessly.
The remaining two just stand there for a moment, Alastor’s silence perturbed and Vox’s incredulous.
Finally, the TV head says to the radio demon, “Nevermind, you can hate him more than me. I get it. It’s fine.”
***The Next Day***
“Oh, there you are, Alastor! Here’s that nametag you requested last night!”
“Thank you, my dear Charlie. However, it’s quite a shame that such a thing is necessary.” His venomous glare drills holes in the back of a certain fallen angel’s head, who promptly starts choking on his morning coffee.
