Work Text:

Birds chirping can be heard from the Millennial Forest. The sun was shining bright, and all the animals were skidding around doing their own stuff.

FWOOOOSHHH

..that was a strong gust of wind. Isn't it supposed to be sunny and hot today?

A green cookie appeared, with his majestic features glowing under the bright sun. The gem on his forehead was the shiniest among. Mesmerizing, very.

He walked towards a dying tree, its leaves drying up and falling off. It is one miserable tree.

With a flick of a wrist, a glowing, green bow and arrow formed in his grasp. He placed a hand on the bow's elegantly-carved body, and the other on the bowstring.

He pulled, and released his hold as soon as the bowstring became taut. "Purify!" The once dying tree was now healing its bark and leaves, giving off a soft green glow. The glow faded after the tree had come back to a good condition. A small smile appeared on the green cookie's face.

He turned around, about to fly off to find more dying beings when he was startled by someone calling his name.

"Heyya Windy! In a good mood today, huh?" 'Oh. That scared me a bit.' Well, the green cookie's name is Wind Archer.

"Hello, Fire Spirit. What brings you to the forest?"

The red cookie with blazing fire as hair (lmfao) snorted. "Gah! Windy, you don't need to be so formal with your greetings. We've known eachother for eons!"

Windy- Wind Archer, chuckled. "I know, I know. I'm just used to being formal, okay?" He took Fire Spirit's hand as the bow and arrow he had been carrying dispersed in the air. "Now, how about we actually act like we're close and visit the place I mentioned a few days ago?"

Fire Spirit's face lit up, "WAIT! WE'RE ACTUALLY GOING THERE? YAY!" Wind Archer smiled, 'Oh Witches, Fire Spirit is just so adorable.' "Yes, we are. I never back down on my words. Now, let's go. We don't want to waste the entire day standing here, do we?" Fire Spirit nodded eagerly.

"And, I have a surprise for you."

The scent of blossoms and water lilies greeted their arrival. The sound of flowing water could be heard, along with the harmony of birds chirping and the rustling of grass blades.

There on the edge of a large pond stood two figures.

"Do you like this place?" Wind Archer asked, as he settled down on the lush green grass to lay out... picnic equipment?

Fire Spirit was too in awe to register what Wind Archer had said. He wasn't exaggerating, though– the scenery really was breathtaking. Trees swayed gently, the soft winds caressing their faces, the pond reflecting the bright sunrays, and flowers everywhere. A significant difference from the rocky, hot, smokey, lava-filled crevices that Fire Spirit is used to back in the Dragon's Valley.

He was snapped out of his amazement when Wind Archer called out to him.

Fire Spirit turned his gaze to where the voice came from, and he was once again made amazed by the view before him.

"This is... for us?"

"Yes, Fire Spirit. It's for us."

Wind Archer had laid out a picnic set up, all with both their favorite food and snacks. Fire Spirit felt so happy and shocked at the same time. ' How did he set that up so quickly...?? ' (little did he know, Wind Archer had gotten help from his loyal winds).

"Wind.. Archer? What's this about?"

Wind Archer sensed his confusion-awe and smiled fondly. "I.. brought you here, for a picnic date. And, I do hope you'll enjoy this as much as I do."

Fire Spirit's hair burst brighter, warmth spreading through his chest and face.

He flew above the picnic blanket and went up behind Wind Archer. And gave him the softest hug Wind Archer has ever gotten.

"I love you." Fire Spirit whispered.

"I love you too," Wind Archer whispered back, "and I'll love you forever, my Flame."

They had a laugh and enjoyed their picnic, in shared peace, comfort, and a new beginning of everlasting love.
