Work Text:
Nineteen year old Talia Emerson hated driving in the dark. She always had. She did her best to avoid doing it, but tonight she was forced into it. To be fair, her older sister had been driving most of the day so it was her turn anyway. Talia and her older sister Brenna had decided to do a girl's trip thing. One last herra before Talia went to college. Talia wanted to do it too, she just didn't want to drive. Brenna was out cold, so Talia turned up her music. Master Of Puppets was always a good banger. Normally, Brenna would sleep through it anyway. She loved the mixed CD Brenna had made for her birthday that day. Her sister knew her love of metal music so well.
Talia started to get tired so she decided to pull over to type in a gas station nearby so she wouldn't accidentally fall asleep at the wheel. That was the last thing she needed. Brenna would never let her live that down. She typed it in the GPS to see if there was a gas station nearby. It turned out that there was one that was about twenty minutes away. Talia sighed and started to drive again. It felt like hours. She was wondering if she had missed the gas station all together. 'To hell with it' Talia thought as she pulled over. Her thoughts were correct. She had missed the exit completely. Swearing a bit knowing it probably wasn't the safest idea she decided she would just sleep on the side of the road. It was probably safer than to drive while she was barely able to keep her eyes open. Brenna chose that moment to wake up. "Are you alright?"
Talia nodded at her. "I'm starting to fall asleep, and I couldn't find the gas station. I think it will be safer than driving right now. I'll start driving again in about an hour or two."
Brenna nodded. "Okay. Are you sure you don't want me to drive?"
"No. I'll be alright in a few hours. Go back to sleep." Talia said clapping her on the arm.
Brenna nodded. "Alright. Goodnight Kiddo."
"G'night." Talia said and shut her eyes. It didn't take much for her to fall asleep.

Talia heard a thump. It woke her out of a dead sleep. Brenna heard it too. Talia sat up looking around. "What was that?"
" I don't know." Brenna said, unbuckling her seat belt. Brenna opened her car door and walked out of it.
Protesting, Talia did the same. "Bren, have you not seen any horror movies ever. Never get out of a car in the dark to investigate anything."
"Oh please, you're overreacting. What on earth could possibly go wrong?" Brenna said with a snort.
"I don't know.... Possibly getting murdered. I don't know about you, but I'm not that fond of the idea of dieing at the age of nineteen." Talia said, walking beside her older sister. Brenna laughed and continued to walk around the car. Talia had a bad feeling. It was a feeling of dread. She wanted to beg Brenna to get back in the car. But knowing Brenna she would call her dramatic. She didn't want to be dramatic. So she followed her sister.
Finally Brenna shrugged. "Common. There's nothing out there. Let's go back to the car." They started to Walk back to the car. Talia heard a snap behind her. Brenna stopped.
"What was that?" Talia asked.
"Let's just go back to the car." Brenna said. Oh now she was worried?! They started to walk back. Suddenly five dark figures, three men and two women, stepped in front of the sisters, blocking there way towards the car. "Uh, hi there. Is there anything that we can help you with?" Brenna asked darkly stepping in front of her younger sister.
"Oh, we just wanted a late night supper." One of the figures said, moving towards them in a menacing way.
"Sorry, we can't help you with that sir. Please let me and my sister go back to our car." Brenna said still protecting her sister.
"I'm afraid we can't let you girls do that. My coven and I are very hungry. And you both look very apitising. I will promise you both it will be very quick and painless." One of the other dark figures said.
Before either Brenna or Talia could react, the figures had grabbed ahold of them. The sisters tried to fight them off but it was no good. There was five of them agents the two sisters. Plus these people seemed stronger than anyone had any right to be. Talia had managed to punch one of them. It seemed to hurt her than it did them. Talia cried out for her sister. One of the men had Brenna around the neck. One of the men lowered his face to her throat. Talia screamed in horror as the man's cainins seemed to pop out of the rest of his teeth and he preceded to bite down on her sisters neck.
"No! Brenna! Please don't hurt her. Kill me instead! Please!" Talia started thrashing agents the person, who held her. The person laughed menacingly.
"Oh don't worry. You'll be next." Talia fought trying to get away. The bastards wouldn't let her go. Brenna didn't look good at all. But she was begging her little sister to look away. Talia sobbed. Then suddenly and arrow hit the one that was biting Brenna in the neck. It came out of nowhere. The thing burst into flames. Talia yelped as she was dropped to the ground and the group started running around like headless chicken's. Three men and what looked like a teenage girl came flying in shooting, slashing and stabbing the people that were attacking Talia and Brenna. Talia crawled over to where her sister had been dropped. She gathered her sister in her arms clinging to her for dear life as her saviors killed off Talia and Brenna's attackers. The four of them finished them off with only a little struggle. The group started to clean of there weapons.
One of the men. He seemed to be the oldest walked up to Talia. He looked sad. Talia was still clinging to her sister. The man knelt down to look her in the face. "Are you harmed?" The man asked.
"No but Breanna was. I don't know what they did to her." Talia whispered. The man gently put a hand on Brenna's arm. He flinched. "I'm so sorry child. She's gone."
"What! No! No! She can't be! Can't you do something! Please do something!" Talia sobbed clinging to her sister harder and shaking her as if that was going to bring her back. The teenage girl that was with the three men quickly walked over to her gripping Talia around the waist. "I'm so sorry." Despite not being one for physical contact, Talia didn't fight the girl off. This was supposed to be a fun trip. Now she had a dead sister and more questions than answers.
