Joey Potter thought she knew what love was. She had felt it with her parents as any child would, but she thought she found true love.
Dawson Leery. Dreamer. Filmmaker. Her best friend. The love of her life. She knew from the buzz beneath her skin when he was near.
So, when Dawson asked her to be his leading lady she jumped on it, though she found out, their friend Pacey Witter was going to play her counterpart. She wished it was Dawson, but he was the filmmaker and he remained behind the camera. Which she was fine with until their last session shooting when he got a new neighbor, blonde and shapely.
Dawson of course invited her into their fold and behind the camera.
“She’s just helping.” Pacey said as they went through their wardrobe for their next scene.
“Right.” She muttered in uncertainty, clearly not believing him.
Pacey rolled his eyes, he knew his best friend wanted the blonde as more, he could see it across the yard the way they leaned in close, laughter between them as Dawson set up the next scene on the dock.
Joey huffed, stepping up to Pacey, she didn’t want to be here, she wanted to be behind the camera with Dawson.
“Alright…you guys ready?” Both acknowledged silently Dawson turning to Jen as he called to them. “ACTION!!!”
“Oh Stephanie…” Pacey as Steven cooed letting his hand slip through her curls until his hand cupped her cheek. “I’ll make sure your safe.”
Joey gasped quietly at his touch her skin tingling and eyes widening as he leaned in. She fought the urge to push him back and actually leaned in herself. Her heart stuttered in her chest as their lips met her limbs igniting with a heat she didn’t recognize. The sensations only amplified as his mouth opened slightly, his tongue just barely darting to tease hers when Dawson yelled “CUT!!” forcing them apart.
Joey stood dumbfounded, her eyes meeting an equally shocked Pacey’s, goosebumps trickling her skin before she shook her head backing away from the scene. Brain so jumbled she didn’t notice her foot going over the edge of the dock sending her into the water, the icy water contrasting with the burning sensations that had taken over her body.
She felt her body awaken again as two arms pulled her from the frigid water, her eyes meeting Pacey’s as he pulled her back on the dock. “Th…thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
His whisper sent a shiver down her spine, scaring the daylights out of her making her bolt soaking off the dock and back toward Dawson’s house.
Read and review…if you want more. I know another new one, but I have been working on like 5 of my others. Should have another chapter of Mackenzie this weekend.
