Its a random day in Hawkins, it’s sunny and the fight with vecna is over. Tho the vibe in the wheeler house is not so sunny. The byers have been living with the wheelers for a bit because their house was sold when they moved to Lenora, they moved back to Hawkins and their house in Lenora was destroyed by the people coming in. Will and Mike are in mikes room.
“Mike I just feel like our friendship is… fading. Ever since we killed vecna and we all kinda changed you’ve been drifting away from me.” “You can’t seriously only blame that on me will, and for your information.. I literally just got out of a break up and-and I just need a break will!” Mike looks down at his shoes. “You wouldnt know what it’s like will, to get out of a serious relationship.” Will looks at Mike with confusion. “Will cmon you’ve always been looking at me and el with disgust!” Will looks up at Mike. “Yea well maybe because you only spend time with el! You seriously didn’t even care about me anymore!” Mike looks at will absolutely flabbergasted. “Thats just so not true! She was my girlfriend will, of course I was spending time with el!” “Yea well… you didn’t spend any time with me!” “Well im sorry that I was being a good boyfriend will!” “Just…nevermind Micheal- your so stupid” with that will runs out of the room, out of the wheelers house towards the park close by the house. He sits on a bench in the park and zones out.
He gets awakened by a voice. “Hey, can i sit here?” Will nods, the stranger goes to sit next to him. “Soo… are you doing okay I saw you sitting here alone..” “I could be better…” the stranger puts his hand on will’s “I’m Carlton”. “Im William but people call me will”.
“Soo what happened?” “I-its just.. I got into a fight with my best friend.. he said some things and it’s just.. i dont know”. “What a jerk”..
Will looks at Carlton with dark eyes, “no… no he’s not- I could never make him out for a jerk”
“Oh.. I’m sorry” “could I get your number maybe? Yk just to hang out sometime- if-if you want to ofcourse”.
Will blushes, “I’d love to!” They exchange numbers and will goes back home.
Back at the wheelers house.
Will enters his and mikes room smiling, they share a room because of the lack of space for 2 families.
“What have you been up to? You seem in a good mood” Mike says to will as he’s writing something on ao3 again (he’s a young author) “oh nothing.. just made a new friend, and um he’s really nice and smart. His name is Carlton” Mikes heart sinks, will met a new person? He’s getting replaced? Will has a new crush and Mike just ends up being his Tammy? “Okay…nice, im happy for you will.” He says with a emotionless tone. “So there’s nothing between us anymore? You support us?” “What do you mean “us” will?” Mike asks with a confused face. “We’re dating!” Mikes face goes back to expressionless. He pretends he doesn’t care but in reality it’s a sting to the heart.. will is over him.
“Yes will, I support you”. “Great! You’ll get to meet him soon.” Mike fake smiles at will. “I’m going to bed goodnight will”. He says in a cold expressionless way. Will is left a little hurt and confused as Mike walks away to get ready for bed.
Will is out on adventure while Mike is sleeping, he’s gonna tell the rest. First is Jonathan and Nancy! He goes to Nancy and Jonathan’s room.
“Hey Jonathan and Nancy! I have good news”. He explains the fight and about him meeting Carlton. Then he notices Nancy’s and Jonathan’s uncomfortable faces. “Will I don’t know… I don’t really think this is fair to Mike, all he ever wanted for you was you being happy. With or without him but this… this is just casually replacement!” Jonathan says a little annoyed. He knows the feeling because of the time with Steve and him fighting for Nancy. He didn’t like the replacement feeling and it’s exactly happening to Mike aswell. “Jonathan he made me feel like shit! Stop pitying him when he literally started all of this!” “Mike is not the problem will! You both are! You had trouble understanding each other after vecna and didn’t try to resolve it i dont know what changed you guys but.. you guys always solved your problems!” “You can’t seriously blame this all on Mike will! He has always had a soft spot for you, always wanted you to be happy, always has been obsessed with you! I know my brother will, he’s different around you and you just ignored all the signs!” Nancy sighs, “just know I wont support you with this, look its not my business so I won’t interfere but I’m not a supporter. “Okay… what about you Jonathan?” “I-im sorry will I mean I support you both, I’ll be happy for you but I’m also on mikes side and agree with Nancy.” “Whatever” will walks out of their room to call his friends. He calls Lucas and max first. “Hey will wassup man!” “Hey Lucas and max, I’ve got to tell you something.”
He explains. “Wtf will! Your such an idiot did you really think I’d support you with this? Sure I’ll be nice to him but I’ll never be on your side” max speaks trough the phone. ~jeez~ will thinks “look im sorry will but I agree with max, i support you but i also support Mike”
Then onto Dustin, “hey Dustin!” He explains everything. “Look idk man i support Mike with this one but I’ll support you aswell”. No one was really supportive of it, will just didn’t get it! He decided to call Robin. “Hey will what’s going on?” Will explains, “man will you really messed up… look I’d love to help you but I just don’t know how.. look I gotta go but just know I’m on both of your sides.” After the calls will decides to go to Carlton’s house.
In the meantime with Mike, Jonathon comes to mikes room. He’s always been a 2nd brother to Mike. “Hey Mike? Can we talk?”. Mike quickly wipes his tears away, he doesn’t normally cry and no one can see that he cried. Jonathan hugs him “hey i know how you feel.. just know you can always talk to the rest of your friends and to me Nancy and um.. Robin-i-she well- she wanted to talk to you but its okay if you don’t want to cus like i know you guys aren’t close and all-“ “yes please” Mike responds. He isn’t really close with Robin but has always respected robin, he liked her a lot.
30 minutes later robin sits next to Mike on his bed. “Hey Mike.. I’m sorry for what happened, I seriously don’t know what’s gotten into him.. he used to be so obsessed with you and now..?” Mike looks at robin with tears in his eyes, she’s the only person he has looked at so far. Robin hugs him. “Hey it will be okay, also you have me and Vickie to hang out with!”. Mike smiles, Robin is a literal sweetheart. “So what happened” Mike starts explaining what had happend. “Oh Mike.. I’m so sorry… I know how you feel.” And with that she hugs him again. He finally got understood.
