It is funny how the smallest differences, the tiniest changes in the past can alter the present in drastic ways.
A Quartz that emerged thousands of years too late, and a Quartz that came out perfect.
This would result in a poetic rivalry that many would still talk about.
But what if, that imperfect overcooked quartz came out early, what if she had came out fitting the mold intended for her?
Well, in this timeline, it happened.
But what of Jasper? What of her? In this timeline, her origin is no different.
She was still the perfect quartz in a batch of rejects, she still shattered many Crystal Gem rebels upon her emergence.
But one day, in yet another battle in the great gem war...Jasper spied the rebel leader Rose Quartz running off somewhere
This had been the opportunity Jasper had been waiting for, if she could shatter her and present her gem shards to non other than Pink Diamond herself, she would receive the highest honors a Quartz could receive.
She pursued Rose as she fled to a secluded area, and what she saw in that secluded area would change her life forever.
For Rose had suddenly changed form, her gemstone rotating, there never was a Rose Quartz, the leader of the Crystal Gems, enemy of Pink Diamond was none other than Pink Diamond herself!
She was in complete shock, and she was not silent about it as Rose, or rather Pink Diamond, soon found her.
Pink Diamond wanted to change back into Rose Quartz...but she couldn't, she had been holding that form for too long that day, she needed a proper resting period.
When she snapped back to reality, she noticed Jasper groveling. Regardless of her disguise as Rose Quartz and going against the mold of The Diamonds, Pink Diamond was still her Diamond, and thus, a new Crystal Gem was born.
It would take time for the rest of the army to accept her, due to her history, but in time they eventually did and Homeworld lost its hero.
But another hero would rise, Amethyst, she was not strong as Jasper, but she had the ferocity to match.
As for the war itself, it continued as it did in the original timeline you're more familiar with, except this time Rose saved three gems that day, not just Garnet and Pearl.
