Hi. I'm very bored.
I came up with this with my friends while we were watching Winx lol

Chapter 1: The beginning

Chapter Text

They were very lucky to have been accepted into Magix. The head masters didn’t usually accept non-magic people, but they made an exception for them, since they had demonstrated their unusual talents, among other things.

On the one hand, Carla had been accepted into Alfea School for Fairies, they considered that her talent with chemicals was outstanding, and, with a little work, she could even become an over-the-top fairy.

On the other hand, Monty had been accepted into Red Fountain School for Specialists. They thought that his abilities in engineering were all he needed to become a great Specialist. Although Carla didn’t quite understand how they could accept him, in her eyes he was just mid.

Ted also applied for the Red Fountain School, but they didn’t accept him, for they believed he was going to get bullied for being English. Given this, they thought a better option for him would be to go to Alfea. Did this mean Ted was going to become a fairy? Well, don’t think so. But nobody wanted him to die at the hands of an angry and racist Specialist, so that was the only answer.

Now, the question everyone might be asking themselves. Why would they accept three pubescents teens in the reign of Magix? Well, it turns out that Monty was related to Bloom. Apparently, Monty’s mum was a cousin twice-removed of Bloom’s mum. Carla found out about it (don’t ask how) and begged Monty to make them accept them. So Monty had to extort the head mistress in order for them to accept Carla. But she wasn’t happy, she wanted him and Ted to go with her. Therefore, Monty had to threaten them with blowing up their houses like he did with Penny’s garden.

In the end it all worked out fine (more or less). They had to make up an excuse to accept them and all of the above is what they came up with.

Once everything had been settled, they traveled to Magix thanks to Faragonda’s powers. And there started their journey in Magix.

“Where is our room supposed to be?” Ted asked Carla. He wasn’t excited about it. He took it as an insult that they placed him in the girl school instead of the Red Fountain. He preferred being with Carla rather than Monty, but it still was insulting.

“I think it’s up that hall.” Carla replied. She was the most excited among the three of them. She grew up hearing stories about all types of fairies, and the fact that she was about to become one made her really happy. She wasn’t even wondering how Monty was, which was surprising, she always thought about him.

They kept walking until they found their room number: 212. Ted opened the door to find one of the most amazing rooms he had ever seen. The main room was huge, it had a sofa and a TV, it even had a computer. There were four doors, two on each side of the room. The two on the left were individual rooms. In the first one lived a fairy named Stella, she was very cheerful and maybe too self-centered. On the other one lived a fairy named Aisha, she looked very humble and friendly. Now, in the other double room lived two other fairies named Bloom and Flora.

Ted and Carla’s room was the second double room. It was big enough. It had two beds, two desks and plenty of room in their wardrobes. The walls were painted in a beautiful shade of pink that resembled cotton candy. Their bed looked like clouds and the view was breathtaking.

“This is amazing.” Carla stated looking in complete amazement at the room.

“I like it, it’s awesome. But nothing compared to Buckingham Palace.” Ted replied honestly.

“Whatever Ted…” She said while side eyeing him and his British ass.

“Shall we start tidying out things?”

“Yeah, sure.”

So they started to put everything where it belonged. It's worth mentioning that later that afternoon they had the welcoming dinner at the central dining room. Carla was a little bit worried about what to wear, she had a few choices in mind but she didn’t think they were good enough. Ted wasn’t helping either, for a gay man he had either the taste of a black rapper or Bill Gates, there was no in between. She would usually ask Madison for her opinion, but she wasn’t there, and her phone didn’t work in that weird magical city. Her only choice was asking the other girls that lived with her, or go see Monty. And, obviously, she chose Monty.

“Maybe we should go see Monty.” She stated to the air.

“Or… listen… maybe not.” He said while raising one of his eyebrows.

“Stop it. We’re going. Besides, he must miss us, maybe he also needs help with something.”

“Whatever makes you sleep at night, Carla”

And so they went to “check on Monty”.

Monty arrived at the school almost at the same time Ted and Carla arrived to theirs. The fact that he was completely surrounded by strangers was making him deeply uncomfortable. He found it a bit hard to find his room, but after a few turns in a circle he found it. He shared a room with another man. He hadn’t seen him yet, for when he found the room he wasn’t there.

The room looked a little bit cheap. It had a bed that was ridiculously small, the desk and its chair were pure plastic, and the wardrobe couldn’t even keep Monty’s legs. It could be worse, Monty thought to himself. He then started to tidy up his things, trying not to look too much at the mess that was “the living room”, which was just a couch and a TV that belonged in the 2000s.

“Hi, Monty!” A tiny voice screamed from the door. It was Carla, who looked super excited to be there. Next to her was Ted, who looked just the opposite from her. Ted and Monty had a bit of a story, let’s say they weren’t the best of friends, not that they were even friends. Ted didn’t like Monty, and Monty didn’t like Ted. Carla was the reason they tolerated each other.

“Howdy, darlin’,” he replied while he stared at her with a smile, “and hello to you too, Ted,” he said reluctantly.

“Hi,” Ted said, as dryly as the Sahara (you go, girl). Carla stared at him in complete horror after hearing that shit while Monty just rolled his eyes, per usual.

“Well…” Carla said in response to Ted’s behaviour. She then turned to Monty again. “You need any help with anything?”

“I think I’m fine, but thank ya.” Monty kept smiling at Carla. He at least felt a little bit better now that she was there. The anxiety had cooled down much more. “How were things over there?”

“The room’s awesome! It looks as if a fairy tale came to life!” she said thrilled, dancing all around Monty’s room and touching everything that he was putting away. “I do need help with something, though…” she said as she wrapped her arms around Monty’s neck from behind. You could actually hear Ted in the background gagging.

“And that would be…?” He turned around to face Carla. They stayed a couple seconds like that before anyone said anything, just staring at each other’s eyes.

“I need you to choose a dress for me…” she whispered in his ear. She then pulled away from him and sat on the bed, right next to Ted. “So, I have this one. It’s green, long and has a little corset on the torso. But, I also have a red one that looks very similar to the one Jessica Rabbit wears, but it covers up a little bit more. Which one should I wear?”

“Green’s ya color, darlin’.” He turned back around to keep putting things in his little closet. “Ya look awesome in anythin’ green.”

“Green dress it is then!” She turned her head to her right to look at Ted. “And you. Stop being salty.”

“I am not salty,” he said, definitely salty. “I’m just tired, and we have to prepare for dinner. Maybe we should head back to the dorm,” he said while getting up from the bed.

“Fine,” she said, annoyed with him. “You’re a party pooper,” she whispered under her breath, so only he would hear, which wasn’t difficult since Monty wasn’t paying any attention.

Carla, also, got up from the bed. She was about to leave when three men appeared at Monty’s door. The first one was a tall, blue-eyed, blond man that looked like a hunk. The one on the center was a little smaller, he had red hair, brown eyes and wore glasses; he actually looked very friendly. The third one looked different though. He was even taller than the blondie, he had garnet-coloured hair and purplish eyes. He honestly looked like he would murder someone and throw them in a river

Ted stared at the third one. He had something, something that made his stomach tingle. His pupils started to get dilated and his mind foggy. He was noticing something, though. He turned his head to look at Carla, who was looking at him, smiling. He immediately turned his head back around. Did she notice? He thought to himself. He really hoped she didn’t, because if she did, she would try anything to pair them up.

“Hello! You must be my new roommate,” the red hair said after a few seconds of awkward staring, “I’m Timmy, the one on my right is Sky, and this is Riven.”

“Howdy!” Monty answered him. He then pointed at Carla and Ted. “This are Ted and Carla, she’s my girlfriend. They just came to visit from Alfea.” Carla and Ted waved at them.

“Why would a man be in Alfea?” Sky asked Ted curiously.

“I’m British,” he stuttered. It was starting to get too obvious that Ted was into one of them, the boys even started to look at him awkwardly. All this while Carla kept staring and smiling at him.

“What’s a British?” Riven asked, confused. The three musketeers stared at them, eyes wide open. Monty had to hide his face, for he wasn’t able to control his laughter.

“He’s from a country named Britain. They get bullied a lot because they’re assholes, that’s why he’s in Alfea with me,“ Carla felt the need to clarify before they began to hate Monty for being impolite. “Anyway, we were leaving already so… we’re gonna go ahead and do that. Bye!” Carla grabbed Ted by the arm and dragged him to the door while he waved them goodbye.

The dinner was approaching. Ted was looking at himself in the wardrobe mirror, trying to tie his red tie. He was wearing a beautiful red tuxedo that made him look so smart. On the other side was Carla. She was at the desk that she converted into a vanity. She was wearing the dress that Monty chose, with beautiful green emerald jewelry that complemented it awesomely. While she was finishing her hair and makeup, she decided to make the question Ted was most afraid of.

“Did you like the grumpy one?” The question made Ted mess up his tie. He growled in desperation and turned his eyes to face Carla through the mirror.

“I do not fancy any of them.” He started tying his tie again. “They looked weird. Like, not Monty weird, but weird.”

“Nuh uh. You liked him, I could see it in your face!” Carla was making fun of him. Since he broke up with Kid he had never liked anyone again, so this was a matter of celebration. Not that she agreed with his taste in men, but she was with Monty, so she had no right to judge anyone.

“You couldn’t see crap, stop making stuff up. He has mean vibes anyway, and I already got enough of that.”  He kept failing with his tie. Carla got up from the chair and walked towards him. Once she was right in his face, she started tying it for him.

“You know? It's okay if you like someone, and it doesn't necessarily have to end like it did with Kid.” And Ted’s tie finally got tied properly. Carla smiled at him, pleased with herself. Ted sighed, for he wasn’t able to do it himself. Did he really like him that much? He didn’t even know him, it was nuts.

“Okay… Maybe I did like him a bit.” Carla looked at him with tenderness and proceeded to hug him. He held tight to her, the last months had been tough on him, he really needed it.

“We should head downstairs, Monty must be already waiting for us.” Ted nodded in approvement, and so they did.

They were walking the main stairs. Carla was held in Ted's arms. From the distance he saw Monty and the end of the stairs, staring at her, in a green tuxedo that matched Carla’s dress.

“Ya look beautiful, darlin'.” Monty stated as soon as Carla and Ted finished walking the stairs, while he admired her emerald coloured dress. The green jewelry highlighted her eyes, and the messy bun accentuated her features.

“Thank you, dweeb.” They smiled at each other, completely ignoring Ted’s existence. He let go of Carla’s arm, who immediately went to grab Monty’s hand.

“Ya look good too.” He said to Ted, as he felt obligated to do so by the look Carla was giving him.

“Yes. Thank you.” Ted looked uncomfortable, as well as done with him, “You… look smart.” He stuttered. He really found it very hard to say.

“Well done, both of you.” Carla looked proud of herself at Monty and Ted’s faces of disgust. “Shall we enter now?”

Following what Carla said, the three of them entered the dining hall with astonishment.
