Chapter Text

Chapter 1- A deal

Well that was awfully nice..Atsushi's boat wouldn't budge no matter how much he tried steering it or rowing it the boat, alas was not moving. What would a sailor do in this situation? It was a pretty remote island the boy was stuck on so he wasn't to sure what he was supposed to do. Was he gonna die here? Atsushi slumped down to the ground with a mope. Oh god this was it his untimely death after years getting himself off the ground- oh wait or he could go the abandoned ship for supplies..oh oh! Or he could even try starting to back up! He had a proper plan now! And with that Atsushi sprung up with a new found sense of urgency, excitement, and a little bit of fear for ghosts but nothing he couldn't handle! They arent..that scary the boy thought to himself, of course he was lying to convince himself otherwise.

Atsushi was looking around the strangely kempt ship. Were most abandoned ships this nice? There wasn't even a speck of dust anywhere which maybe should've been a clue to get off for a normal person but Atsushi lacks critical thinking skills apparently because he continued down the ships hall, scrounging around for material that could possibly help with his situation. His ears perked up as he heard a noise most wouldn't be able to pick up on and ducked down between various boxes placed on the ship. Were there really ghosts? Did Atsushi fuck up and go on a haunted ship? He ducked his head out slightly to see if he could spot anything or anyone. He was hoping for the former as most of his social interactions were usually a bust and he ended up saying the wrong thing. He covered his mouth with his hands to avoid making any unnecessary noise as someone walked in.

Akutagawa was ordering the people on his ship around as usual. They made a quick pit stop at an island for some of its material that was rumored to be on this specific island. God why were his people so slow? He knew it was summer and people were hot and sluggish but they were pirates for hells sake! Not just any but the most dangerous in the seas! They'd gone through worse and a little heat was slowing them down, seriously?! Akutagawa let out a sigh and mumbled a quick "whatever" under his breath and was going to continue walking until one of his crew members walked over with a suspiciously human shaped thing in there hand. Oh wait it WAS another human. What the hell was a random person doing on this ship? It definitely wasn't a member of the crew or anyone he knew. So that canceled out being here for some sort of revenge. After all, Akutagawa was very good at remembering faces. So if he had ever met this strangely pretty boy before he would've DEFINITELY remembered.

Atsushi looked up at the fearsome pirate as he was thrown in front of him on the ships wooden deck. Ouch that kinda hurt..whatever there were more important matters now, like getting out of this alive. Atsushi was strangely good at maneuvering himself out of difficult situations but to be truthful he had no idea what he was supposed to do right now. He was terrified to the point he couldn't force himself to move. Frozen in fear was the term he was sure that was it. Yet still he forced himself to give the very much deadly pirate a nervous smile as if to ask for mercy. Who was Atsushi kidding this guy was notoriously known for NOT giving mercy. Atsushi was sure he was shaking in total fear at this point. What does one do in this situation other than await their own fate to be decided by a vile pirate. Ugh.. he should've never stumbled on this ship..

Hm..this boy was interesting to Akutagawa. Where as most would try and run or fight the boy stayed still just waiting..Akutagawa liked that. In some sort of sick and twisted way of course. Maybe he should keep this fool around for entertainment. Of course that was the first thing he cruel mind thought of. Entertainment. What else would there be? That's just how he was as a person, cruel and unforgiving. Akutagawa looked down at the boy with mock pity that was obviously fake to everyone aboard. Even Atsushi could recognize its fake and he wasn't that good with social cues. Actually scratch that he wasn't good at all. So this pitates sarcasm abilities reached whatever the peak was. The pirate held out a hand and Atsushi took it cautiously as he was helped up off of the deck floor, which for a pirate ship was basically spotless.

Okay this was not how Atsushi expected his day to go. He was a pirate now. Akutagawa had given him a choice you see, join his crew and be thrown overboard left for dead in the grating sea. Obviously Atsushi still wanted to live, only being 18 and all. Wait..thats right..he read somewhere about this guys age wasn't this pirate..one of the most feared only.. 20? He shivered a little at the thought. It felt weird knowing someone as terrifying as that man was only 2 years older then him. It made sense by the looks but his attitude and demeanor were totally different than Atsushis. Which like yeah whatever he doesn't mind. Surprisingly to Atsushi there was no backhand in the deal or anything else. Just join or die. Which sounds a lot more gruesome when he thought about it in his head but oh well nothing he can do about it now. Atsushi was being led to his new room on the ship. He had nothing in hand as Atsushi didn't bring anything of value with him on the ship because well..he thought he' d be going to this ship gathering some materials to make his boat budge and go back home but.. fate had other plans. Crazy weird plans. Atsushi sighed looking at the door of his new room. This was his new life.
