Chapter 1: So let me in

Chapter Text

Will has been woken up by an unfamiliar sound outside his home. After looking at the clock on his nightstand, he buried his head straight back into his soft pillow. He tried to ignore the noise, thinking it was maybe his neighbours. Then he heard banging on his door. He groaned as he rubbed his eyes, then got out of his warm bed to see what or who could be possibly causing the noise. He put on a dark grey sweater before opening the door of his apartment.
When he opened the door, he was met with a strangely dressed person at his doorstep. Before he could even register it, the stranger stormed into Will’s apartment.
Will was frozen for a good minute. He didn’t fully understand what was happening.

“..Who are you?” He asked the figure clothed in what resembled a knight’s armour from a fantasy novel. He took in the stranger’s appearance. Close helmet hides the other’s identity. The gorget, protecting the neck, part of the clavicles and sternum. It was draped in gold in different kinds of places, which made it look like some kind of otherworldly pattern. A weighty-looking sleeveless cloak was tied around it, what might have been made out of the softest coyote pelts.
Leather brigandine seems to have been worn and well used. Will thought the cuirass looked the most pleasing, the amount of small details that must have been crafted by the most proficient being with just the right amount of uniqueness and personalisation in mind. It looked too perfect, too beautiful to be just an ordinary knight’s costume armour piece. The heart symbol on the armour looked all too familiar to Will, he thought it must have been just a pure coincidence. Before he could gaze at the mysterious stranger’s armour any longer, the other removed his helmet, finally showing his face.

“M-Mike?” Will said with a strong astonishment in his voice. Why was Mike dressed like this? Why did he resemble his D&D character? Is he dreaming all this nonsense?
“My love, I have found you, at last.” Mike spoke so formally with a sigh of relief in his voice. He looked so happy. Will has never seen Mike be this cheerful about anything at all, never seen him with a smile so wide that all of his teeth showed in the soft light of the dawning sunlight. This must be a dream, a wonderfully sweet dream. Will refused to believe this person is Mike.
Will felt a cold, metallic sensation on his palm before he realised the taller boy was taking his right hand. Mike shifted down onto one of his sturdy knees. Mike looked up to Will like he was some sort of lost treasure, something sacred, someone worth sacrificing your own mortality for. Mike looked at him like he was the only being that mattered, and to this Mike, that was exactly the case.
With a fond smile, the black haired boy placed a soft kiss on the back of Will’s hand, then Mike looked back up at Will with pure adoration in his eyes.
Will’s mind went utterly numb. This is the first time he felt this flustered and confused at the same time. He wanted to say something, ask a couple of things, but it seemed like he forgot how to form proper sentences or words, even.
“I have searched everywhere for you in this strange land. I went through some kind of portal. I felt so worried that there was even a possibility that I had lost you, dear. I’m glad I have found you safe and well.” The paladin declared as he brightly smiled up at Will.
“William?” Said the black haired boy, upon not hearing any words from the other. He said it so softly, like he was talking to a wounded animal. He had a slight tinge of worry plastered over his face as he stood up, Will’s hand still in his own hand, covered by his strangely cold gauntlet.
“Y-yes?” Will answered Mike’s call with a shaky voice. He doesn’t remember ever hearing his name be uttered with such formality and carefulness by anyone else prior to this.
“Are you feeling alright, my heart? I have noticed you were not able to recognise me. I shall be equitable, I did feel a trifling pang of disappointment.” Said Mike with melancholy in his tone.
“I have also noticed you are wearing an unusual kind of clothing.” The paladin pointed out Will’s pyjamas as he looked at Will up and down in a confused state.

Will stayed quiet. This definitely wasn’t Mike. It
couldn’t be him. Maybe it was another version of Mike. From all the things he went through, Will wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. He thought long about how to approach this. He tried to gently explain it to the other.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think you’re my Mike, if you’re even called Mike. I’m not sure, but…I think you may be from a different world or a different universe.” Will thought he sounded completely insane as the words left his mouth. All of this was abnormal, but this was the only explanation that made sense to him.
“Not yours? What are you saying, my cleric? I am Sir Michael, have you forgotten me?” Michael spoke in a troubled tone before he cupped Will’s cheeks in his hands. Michael looked down at him with eyes that could be compared to a love-starved puppy. Will needed to get himself together.
“I don’t want to worry you. I know all of this could sound stupid, but it’s the only reasonable explanation.” Will sighed and looked back at Michael. “I’m not your cleric, Sir Michael.” Will felt strange saying that name outside of Mike’s D&D campaigns.
“I feel rather unsure. Could you perhaps be an imitation?” Michael asked. Will wanted to say something, but before he could even think of what to say, Michael continued his rambling.
“That could be far from the truth. Even if you are not the cleric from my realm, your soul is pulling me in, just like his.” Said the paladin as his thumb caressed Will’s cheekbone. Will’s breath hitched at the touch, slightly shivering from the gauntlet’s feeling.
Micheal was looking down at him with a kind smile, enjoying Will’s reaction to his caresses.
Will found himself leaning more into the taller boy’s touch. He knew he must have looked desperate. The truth is that he was. He has been so lonely these days. A stupid misunderstanding leading to him breaking up with Carlton, his fling with Chance and Mike giving him mixed signals made him feel so miserable and empty. He closed his eyes as he rested his head in Michael’s gentle hold.

“My dear William, if you don’t mind me just simply asking. Where is your Sir Michael? You couldn’t possibly be here in all your lonesome, without a companion.” Michael tilted Will’s head so he could look him in the eye. What Michael saw in Will’s expression could only simply be described as a sorrowful heartache.
The paladin looked at the shorter boy with compassion as he saw tears forming in the poor boy’s eyes. He placed a tender kiss onto Will’s forehead, before hushing him and pulling him into a warm embrace.
“Shh it is alright, my heart. No need to shed tears over a being, that could never in his right mind appreciate the sacred beauty that is your soul.” Micheal whispered into Will’s ear as he continued to comfort the boy. Micheal let Will cry into his arms. It broke his heart to see him in this state. He couldn’t comprehend how some other worthless version of himself could make Will feel this much sadness. He caressed Will’s hair until he was calm again.

“I’m so stupid.” Will mumbled to himself more than to the boy whose neck he was burying his face in.
“Never utter such hurtful words about yourself ever again.” Michael said with his brows furrowed before continuing: “That foolish version of myself is the one for the blame, not you. He’s not worth your grace.” Declared Michael so seriously, Will could only smile at his statement.
“He’s not that bad…it’s just a little difficult with him.” He said as he removed his face from Michael’s neck to look at him properly. Though Will wasn’t sure if that’s what he really thought or just what he wished he could think. “Can we stop talking about him?” Will requested, he didn’t want to be sad anymore.
“Anything you wish for, dear.” Michael’s gaze lingered on Will for a long time after saying that. He was leaning closer to him without even noticing. Almost close enough to bump their noses together.
Will was thinking if it would be too selfish of him to kiss Michael. He couldn’t do it. Michael already belonged to someone else, even if the someone was just him from another universe.
Michael, however, did not seem to have the same dilemma as Will.
Will’s eyes widened as he felt Michael’s lips against his. He pulled away, but as soon as he did, he already regretted that he withdrew from such a pleasant feeling. Will covered Michael’s mouth with his hand before saying, “I’m sorry, it just feels wrong.” Will’s face was plastered full of regret as he looked away, but his hand was still placed on the paladin’s mouth.
With a chuckle, Michael removed Will’s fingers from his mouth, then he place a kiss on his knuckles.

“My heart, it is not wrong at all. Do you believe the moment we have just shared is wrong, because you’ are an other version of my dear cleric? If so, I understand.” Michael left another kiss on Will’s hand before saying, “You are still him, though. I cannot help but feel this intense love towards you. Our souls are connected, in all and every world there is.” Michael smiled against Will’s hand. He grinned at the other boy like there was no worry in the world. He almost resembled a child receiving gifts on a Christmas morning.
“Nonetheless, if you do not wish to continue, I perfectly understand. Just please, let me beg of you this; do not deny yourself from what you terribly desire or what you immensely deserve.” The paladin waited for Will’s answer, but Will just simply nodded.
“Express your thoughts, restrain from just nodding your head.” Michael gently pulled the shorter man closer.
“Kiss me.” As soon as the words left Will’s mouth, he found Michael’s lips on his own. His eyes slowly closed as he kissed back the other. His hand sneaked it’s way to Michael’s beautiful long dark hair, to pull him deeper into the kiss. He heard clanking sounds as Micheal took off his gauntlets and dropped them to the ground. Will gasped as he was lifted up from the ground, his arms and legs locked around Michael by instinct. His cheeks flushed at the feeling of Michael’s hands against the back of his thighs. Micheal moved Will so his back was now pushed to the living room’s wall while still being held up by the paladin. Michael leaned closer to Will’s neck, before burying himself in it and softly inhaling his scent.
“May you let me show you the love that you truly deserve? Whispered the paladin while he placed his palm right where Will’s heart was, slightly thrusting himself closer at the moment he could feel his heartbeat.
Will uttered a soft “please”, however it was more than enough for the paladin. He gently let Will’s feet touch the ground again. Michael got on his knees, took Will’s hand and placed it against his cheek as he looked up at Will.

“Even in this world, you’re the outmost fascinating being. I suppose feelings of surprisement should not take place in me. I have just not been able to think about the possibility of other realms as such as yours.” Michael pulled the shirt up that belonged to the boy above him. He left open mouthed kisses all over Will’s abdomen. Will didn’t know if he should remove his hand from Michael’s cheek or not, so he just left it there. When the paladin kissed down on his happy trail and looked up at him with those pleading eyes, Will felt himself aching with need.
Gladly, Michael noticed too. He removed his lips from Will’s stomach, which made the boy make a dissatisfied sound. Michael grinned, then he carefully pulled down Will’s pyjama shorts down to his ankles. The brown haired boy let out a quiet whimper as the cold hit him and he tilted his head back to the wall. The hand that was on Michael’s cheek was now tenderly resting on the nape of Michael’s neck.
The paladin started by placing kisses on Will’s thighs, then slowly working his way closer and closer to where Will desperately needed him. Will felt like air got punched out by him and his knees buckled as Michael kissed his tip through his boxers. He has gotten more sensitive after he decided to isolate himself. Michael stopped looking at the boy above him for a second when he pulled Will’s boxers down, setting him free.
“Avail yourself of my love, William.” The paladin glanced up at him and took the tip into his mouth. Even from just this, Will felt so good. He hasn’t felt another person’s touch in a while. Will’s hand was now tangled in Michael’s dark curls. At the feeling of Will’s hand in his hair, Michael greedily took the other man in deeper, determined to please Will.

“S-Sir Micheal..” Will let out an awfully lewd sound, not trying to control himself anymore. Michael slowly started to increase the pace of his head moving. His fingers dug into Will’s hips, and the man above Michael bit his lips from the strong hold.
Accidentally, Will’s hip thrusted into Michael, causing him to choke on the other boy. Will got concerned and tried to pull Michael off, but Michael took him all the way until his nose was pressed against Will’s happy trail. When Will fully looked down, he was blessed by the sight of Michael’s doe eyes still on him as drool was all over his mouth. Will could finish by the view alone.
He quietly cursed to himself as Michael moved his head up and down. Will started to mindlessly grind against Michael as he felt his orgasm getting closer. The paladin moaned, the vibration caused Will’s hips to stutter.
“I’m close.” Will moaned and gripped Michael’s hair tighter. Michael fastened his pace, causing Will to reach his climax. His back arched and tears formed in his eyes. Michael pulled off and licked every single drop of Will’s release off of him. With dazed eyes, Will looked down on him. The paladin’s lips were red and wet, tears streamed down his cheeks, his hair was a complete mess and drool was dripping down his chin. He looked so ruined, and Will thought he had never looked better.

Michael caressed Will’s thighs and left soft kisses on his hips as he said:
“I vowed to protect you and occur to be at your will at even the most harsh times. Will you let me proceed with my oath, my love?”
