Chapter Text
Today was quite a cloudy day. That did not bother Leo though. He enjoyed this kind of weather. It helped him calm his mind and relax.
After getting out of bed and having breakfast, Splinter asked to talk to Leo. They headed to the dojo and attempted to meditate. When Leo was relaxed enough, Splinter began to speak.
"My son," he said with the usual tone in his voice. "I have been getting certain visions lately... " he looked down, with a sad expression on his face.
"What kind of visions Master? Do we need to prepare for a fight?" Leo asked, concerned by Splinter's look.
"No, not this time." He replied, but he did not seem happy about it. "This is different."
"If it isn't a fight then what is it Sensei?" Leo asked curiously, expecting an answer that would contain some sort of battle.
"This is not about combat, but it concerns you." Splinter said. "How much do you know about digital worlds?".
Leo paused for a bit. Obviously he didn't know anything unless he meant fictional ones.
"Not much. I have never been to one Sensei. I don't even know if they exist." He replied after a few seconds, turning his head towards Splinter.
"Unfortunately, they do exist. I have had visions of some kind of peculiar digital circus world where there exists no way to escape."
A few seconds of silence.
"And, I saw you getting trapped in there, alone, without your brothers." Splinter actually seemed worried. Most of the time it wasn't easy to tell when he was feeling anxious but this was different.
"I- I'm sure it is nothing to worry about Master. A circus can't be worse than Shredder or the Krang." Leo wasn't really convinced this was real, but what would he do if he actually ended up in a random digital whimsical world?
"Perhaps. But please be cautious. Do not risk contact with any weird looking devices." He lifted his head and gave Leonardo a serious look.
"I will be careful Sensei. I promise."
Splinter nodded and Leo made his way out of the room. As he was walking towards his room, he heard loud voices.
"BOOYAKASHAAAA- AAHHHHH~" Mikey yelled as he crashed on Leo. They both looked terrified few seconds before crashing.
"Ugh... MIKEY! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO SKATEBOARD IN HERE?!?" Leo shouted at him while trying to get back up.
"You're no fun." Mikey said with a cute but sad expression on his face.
"Guys! Stop fighting and get right here! The Krang are on the move again." Donnie called from his lab.
"What is it Don?" Raph walked in the lab with Casey. "What are these alien freaks planning this time?"
"Well they appear to be talking about some sort of weapon. The are calling it the ultimate trap. However, I can't understand exactly what it is." He seemed confused.
"Can you show us?" Leo asked.
"Sure, but I don't think you guys will understand anything more than I did." He moved his laptop towards them and turned it around.
The only image that appeared on the screen was a weird looking headset.
"Is that supposed to be their ultimate weapon?" Raph scoffed and laughed.
Donnie looked at him,clearly annoyed by his behaviour. "According to them, it is some sort of device that transfers the user's consciousness into the headset and traps them inside. Kind of like a comma."
"I don't know about you dudes, but I would not put this thing on. Kinda reminds me of Max in Stranger Things when she was trapped in Henry's mind." Mikey said to fill in the silence.
"Not the time for that Mikey!" Raph said.
"Did they mention any locations Donnie? Like where they might be taking this weapon?" Leo asked.
"One sec- yes, yes they did. They are taking it to the TCRI." Donnie replied as he continued starring at the screen.
"Alright team, let's go stop the Krang from using this weird device on people or something." Leo said confidently, but something felt off to him.
