Chapter Text
Aphmau was sat chilling on her couch watching some kind of movie she didn’t even know what it was, she wasn’t really paying attention. It was Valentine’s Day yet she didn’t even know where Aaron was. This morning he muttered something and quickly left after breakfast but the sound of keys and door opening took her out of her thoughts. Aaron walked through the door holding a card, a box of chocolate and a bouquet some flowers.
Aphmau sat turned around to face him as Aaron handed her the gifts. “That’s just something small. I got some plans for later”
Aaron said confidently though on the inside he was nervous his gifts weren’t good enough.
“Thank you” she replied and leaned up to give him a kiss of the cheek before looking back at the stuff in her lap. The bouquet was made up of lavenders and reds poppy’s, her favourite. The card looked hand made tho by somebody who hasn’t made a card before. “What’s you got planned?” She ask as she read the little poem in the card.
“It’s a surprise” Aaron walked around the couch and sat by Aphmau. She nodded and popped a piece of chocolate in her mouth before offering one to Aaron. he waved his hand “I’m fine”
She quickly fished the chocolate “so should we start dinner or” Aphmau dragged out the or “we going somewhere that we shouldn’t eat before?”
Aaron laughed “don’t eat, you’ll get sick”
“What does that even mean?”
“It’s means you’re probably going to get sick if you eat something before hand” Aaron stood up “we probably need to leave soon”
“Wait is what I’m wearing fine?” Aphmau looked down at the white off the shoulder top and grey skirt she was wearing. “Umm you might want to change into a pair pants or something” Aphmau quickly went upstairs to change, bring the valentines gifts. She got out a pair of dark grey high waisted and wide jeans and left the house with Aaron.
It was about a thirty minute drive. It was extremely quiet though not the awkward or uncomfortable kinda of silence but the calm kind. Aphmau looked out the window while Aaron drove, seeing the building turn to fields and trees. Soon they came hear music and Aaron turned to drive into a parking place. Aaron got out and went to open the door for Aphmau, immediately the lights of the rides and stage hit Aphmau. “Ah this makes sense on the food and clothing thing… Is this a festival or theme park”
“Both, it’s a festival being held at a theme park”
“Nice”
“I already got us tickets so we can just show them and go in immediately” They got inn and started walking around “what do you want to go on first? Or I think there’s some mini concerts if you want to go to those”
“We should go the rides first” Aphmau then pointed at small wooden roller coaster and dragged Aaron into the line. She dragged him a few more rides before bringing him over to a ride called ‘love town’ it was a slow indoor ride.
“Really?” Aaron raised an eyebrow at her but still followed her into the line.
“Come on! It’s Valentine’s Day, love is in the air and it’ll be fun”
He laughed “ok if you say so but after this we should get some to eat”
“Got it” Aphmau then muttered “I know you’re a hopeless romantic anyways”
“What did you say” Aaron asked in a tone that gave a way the fact he knew exactly what she said.
“Nothing!”
The ride was anything too special but Aaron could tell Aphmau enjoyed it so he was having a good time. Just like Aaron asked they soon looked around for something to eat and a place to sit. Aphmau went up and pointed to a stall that was selling burgers “you know.. you make my heart beef faster” she laughed.
“No. Just no” Aaron ordered them both burgers and fries while Aphmau continued making food and Valentine’s Day puns. The found a bench by a small pact of grass and sat down. The sun had just started setting making the light around them feel even more bright and music continued on if not get louder. After they were done eating they began walking around again and found themselves at one of the music performances that was happening. Not one of them knew the artist or the song but it was some cheesy love song that was easy enough to follow along with.
“I remind me to look up this artist when we get home” Aphmau yelled to Aaron though the music was extremely loud. Aaron didn’t really understand but nodded along.
They went on a few mores rides and walked around for a bit just to take in the scenery, it was now completely dark and the sky was completely clear. To end the night here Aphmau decided to go the ferris wheel. They both sat down holding hands and listening to the music that got quieter as the ferris wheel went higher. “Hey.. I had a great day” Aphmau said as she went in to kiss Aaron on the lips. It wasn’t a very long kiss but it was warm and comforting and felt like home, everything felt like home when she was with Aaron.
“The night isn’t over yet. I got one more little thing we should do before heading home” after they got off the ferris wheel, aphmau let Aaron lead her back to the car and drive to where he was taking her.
Aphmau didn’t know how long the drive was she spent it looking out the window at the rolling hills and long fields. She only noticed the car parked when Aaron let go of her hand “huh…oh we’re here” she muttered. Aaron went to the boot of the car before opening her door and taking her hand and leading her into the open field. They walked through the dark with a flashlight and moon lighting the way for a few minutes before Aaron stop And put down a big picnic blanket.
“Wow it’s so dark I didn’t even notice you were holding that”
“I also got these” Aaron held up a small bag of chocolate chip cookies. He handed her the bag and sat down on the blanket. Before he even had time to say something Aphmau fell right on top of him and sat half on half off his lap. “Careful”
“I know you got me” Aphmau gave him a kiss again but this time on the cheek. Aaron leaned back and rested on his hand as Aphmau started opening the cookie bag and eating.
“You know” she said through bits “today was wonderful” she looked up at the stars in the sky while Aaron looked at her.
“Everyday I get to spend with you is wonderful” he smiled at her. They stayed like that for who knows how long until Aphmau asleep and Aaron ended up caring her back to the car.
