The Depths
It was a dark and stormy night..........
On the quest to attain her Blindseer abilities, Astra Ymara visited the Depths in search for those who are weak and without an Oath. She needed two more rescues before she was able to call herself a true Blindseer. Two more until she was able to begin fulfilling her destiny. She wandered, and wandered, and wandered in the drowned land. Astra encountered a few deep-sea creatures here and there, like the common Lionfish and Megalodaunt, a Nautilodaunt or two—Nothing she hasn't seen before.
It was honestly strange how calm the Depths seemed on this day. Calm, of course, is very subjective when it comes to this place, but can still be argued for. Astra was beginning to lose hope. If this was going to be how it was for the rest of the night, it would be more productive to find a hole to sleep in. Her katana felt heavy in her hand, as she had been armed and on guard the entire hunt. Her resolve was weakening.
Astra was just beginning to walk to her hide-out when suddenly, she heard the sound of water flowing...
Someone had drowned.
Astra ran toward the sound of the motion, evading the pesky gigameds and even more megalodaunts. One of her horns got caught on the underside of a gigamed—HORRIFYING—but she cut right through it. Astra saw the drowned person fall from the watery sky and down towards her. Astra sheathed her weapon and caught the stranger before they hit the ground.
"Oof!"

PRESENT
Isle of Vigils
Astra Ymara was nervously pacing along the docks of Vigils. Rain, her.. partner, was coming back from his quick trip to Lower Erisia. That place has always freaked Ymara out and he knows it, so he always makes her stay behind while he goes out. Ymara is very capable on her own, but her experiences at Lower make her anxiety entirely understandable.
Her pointed ears felt hot with embarrassment as she watched others get off their boats and stare. Even with her blindfold, she feels and knows every stare, every movement. She is entirely in tune with her surroundings. I mean, that is what Blindseers do after all. See no fear, feel all truth, or however it went.
Ymara began hearing the calls of a familiar voice, "Hey, you!" She looked toward the flowing sea, spotting the boat of her warm guild officer—
"Rain!" she exclaimed. Ymara excitedly shuffled to the dock ladders, waiting for Rain to stop and climb up. Rain made quick work of leaving and tying his boat, having only one care in the world. He ran up the ladder and took Astra into his arms. "You've returned, and without a scratch! I'd expect nothing less from you, dear." Ymara pulled from the hug, simply admiring her partner for a moment.
