One Sunday, Melodie had a concert. It was free for StarrPark employees but required tickets for visitors. Meeple went to the concert that night so they wouldn’t feel alone. Maybe they went to see Chester after that kiss. When the concert began, Meeple focused only on Chester. Their eyes searched for him in the massive crowd. When they finally found him, Meeple felt disappointed. Chester and Mandy were dancing intimately to Melodie’s song. Meeple felt their eyes fill with tears, and soon after, they left the concert area.
After a while, Chester noticed that Meeple had left. He left Mandy with Emz and exited the concert hall. The only person he was looking for was Meeple. Some time later, he found Meeple talking with Angelo and Willow in front of Swamp of Love. He watched them for a few minutes. Angelo smiled at Meeple and hugged him. Willow smiled warmly as well, but she did not hug them. After that, Willow and Angelo left, and Meeple was alone.
A while later, Meeple slowly went to the beach beneath ToyLand, which was still under construction. They sat somewhere he could clearly see the long line where the sea soaked the sand and stared at the cloudless sky and the endless horizon. Chester was still secretly following them He smiled slyly and walked right up behind him.
🃏🎉 – Boo! What are you doing here all alone?!
🎱🎲 – AAH?! You jerk! What are you doing?!
Startled, Meeple jumped straight into the water. Chester’s pranks and jump scares were truly annoying.
🃏🎉 – What’s wrong? Why did you leave the concert? Didn’t you have anyone to dance with?
🎱🎲 – What does that even mean?! You’re talking nonsense, Chester! I’m not looking for a partner! I’m just trying to stay away from people as low as you!
🃏🎉 – Low? Me? You do realize more than half of StarrPark’s fans love Mandy and me. That princess you hate so much and that clown. Sometimes I wonder if there’s anything inside that big head of yours, the one carrying that purple glowing… thing, that can actually help you think properly, Meeple.
🎱🎲 – Do you even hear yourself?!
🃏🎉 – Maybe I don’t know what I’m saying, but I know what you want. Angelo told me everything on my way here. Go on, don’t be shy. Confess, and then become a great joke for Buster, Fang, Edgar, Draco, and me. You big billiard ball. By the way, Mandy and I are dating.
🎱🎲 – What?! R-Really? I didn’t know that…
Meeple’s breath caught.
They looked back at the cloudless sky and the endless sea, but this time it felt like the world had collapsed on them. Chester kept teasing him, but Meeple couldn’t hear a word. Disappointment had taken over.
🃏🎉 – Hey, Meeple. Why aren’t you talking? Meeple… Hey!
🎱🎲 – Huh? W-What? Are you leaving?
🃏🎉 – Yes. To go dance with Mandy.
🎱🎲 – Then go… Have fun.
Chester quickly left them and returned to the concert hall. He found Angelo and arranged a reservation with Meeple for the next day, paying extra that night.
On Monday, Willow checked on Meeple and brought them to Swamp of Love. Chester was waiting beside Angelo, dressed in a suit.
When Meeple came to their senses and saw what was in front of him, they froze in shock.
Chester, in a suit, was offering them an elegant bouquet of roses, smiling warmly. It was a sweet moment for Chester, Willow, and Angelo, but Meeple looked as if they were in a nightmare… or so it seemed.
After Willow encouraged them again, Meeple sat beside Chester. Later, they were deep inside Swamp of Love. Meeple sat curled up in the left corner, avoiding Chester’s gaze. Chester smirked at them and finally spoke.
🃏🎉 – What is it, sweet thing? Are you shy around me?
🎱🎲 – I told you I don’t want a partner… idiot… You humiliated me yesterday… You all just use me for laughs… I’m just a toy to all of you…
🃏🎉 – Hey, don’t exaggerate. Only Willow and Angelo know.
🎱🎲 – I don’t trust anyone about this…
🃏🎉 – Fine, forget that. I bought you dark chocolate and lemon candies. The most expensive ones.
🎱🎲 – I don’t want them. Eat your chocolate yourself.
Meeple turned their head away. Chester quickly found a sneaky way to make him eat them.
🃏🎉 – Oh my God, Moe’s relative! A sewer rat!
🎱🎲 – What do you mean, a sewer rat?!
When Meeple jumped in fear, they unintentionally moved closer. Chester seized the opportunity, shoved a piece of chocolate and a candy into their mouth, and covered it with his hand so he couldn’t spit them out. With his other arm, he pulled Meeple close.
🃏🎉 – So? Tastes good, doesn’t it?
🎱🎲 – Mmhmm! Mmm!
Unable to speak, Meeple swallowed them without chewing and bit Chester’s hand.
🃏🎉 – Hey! What are you doing?! My hand! That hurt!
Chester pulled away, and Meeple jumped into the water. They knew it wasn’t very deep, since Chester had once pulled a similar prank on them and they had been forced to walk in the cold water for nearly an hour.
🎱🎲 – Idiot… Do whatever you want! I will never believe you!
🃏🎉 – But… hey, wait!
Meeple ignored him and kept walking through the water until them disappeared into the pitch darkness.
The next day, while Chester was walking sadly toward CandyLand, he saw Meeple sitting alone on a bench. Without thinking, he ran toward them
🃏🎉 – Hey Meeple! Stop right there!
Hearing his voice, Meeple stood up and tried to run, but Chester grabbed their wrist.
🃏🎉 – I’m sorry about last night! Please listen! I lied to you on the beach! I’m not dating Mandy!
🎱🎲 – Liar! Everyone says you are! Why should I believe you?!
While trying to pull away, Meeple accidentally fell and hit their face against the hard bricks. Chester knelt beside them and helped them up.
🃏🎉 – Stop being so stubborn. Do you see what happened?
🎱🎲 – If you hadn’t bothered me, this wouldn’t have—! W-What are you doing?!
Chester hugged them tightly and kissed their cheeks, then kept kissing him repeatedly. After a moment, he smiled and pressed his lips against Meeple’s.
When the kiss ended, Meeple stared at him in shock. Chester himself wasn’t even sure what he had just done. He smiled again, grabbed Meeple’s wrist, and led him toward CandyLand.
🃏🎉 – The lemon candies and dark chocolate I bought you yesterday are still in my room. Let’s go.
But Meeple finally pulled themself together and freed their wrist.
🎱🎲 – No! I don’t want any candy!
🃏🎉 – Why not? Everyone loves candy. What’s your excuse?
🎱🎲 – I don’t want your candy or your chocolate! After what you did, never—
🃏🎉 – Come on, one more chance. This time I’m offering a better date. Tomorrow evening, at the beach. Okay?
🎱🎲 – Why do you even want this?! You’ve lost your mind! Never!
🃏🎉 – Then it’s settled. Five o’clock at the beach. See you then, Meeple.
After kissing his cheek once more, Chester left for CandyLand.
The next day at five in the evening, Meeple was at the beach. Them had given in and was waiting for Chester. On their head was a simple daisy crown that Lily had forgotten in the forest.
After a while, Chester arrived wearing a white shirt and trousers. He looked well-prepared, hair neatly styled, dressed elegantly like a true gentleman. When he saw Meeple, he ran up to thm and kissed their cheek again without hesitation.
🃏🎉 – So you came. What changed your mind?
🎱🎲 – Don’t ask…
🃏🎉 – I brought those lemon candies and dark chocolates again… Maybe you’ll eat them this time?
🎱🎲 – Why are you forcing me like this?!
🃏🎉 – Because I know everything you’re too afraid to say. Like the fact that you really love me, but you stay away because you’re afraid I’ll mock you. Angelo told me everything.
🎱🎲 – Why does everyone tell other people’s secrets… That fly-like thing is so annoying about this…
🃏🎉 – Stop being stubborn and eat the candy. I have no one else to share it with.
That evening, Chester and Meeple watched the sea while eating candy and chocolate. When they parted after the date, they said goodbye with a kiss that reflected their true feelings.
