Chapter Text
Lily is sure that childbirth shouldn't be like this, she had read a ton of books on the subject, asked a lot of people, researched everywhere, even tried to sneak into a birth once but James stopped her, and nowhere did she find out that when your baby is born the hospital lights start flickering, an unlivable air flows and a enormous magical pressure builds up.
She could only be thankful that James had confused the doctors and nurses into not making a big deal out of these things, because otherwise, she would have no idea how to explain it.
Speaking of James, she turned to the right to see her husband and couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the horrified face he had as he looked around not knowing what to do, it seems that the years of causing pranks and mischief at Hogwarts didn't prepare him for a supernatural birth.
Looking at him, she couldn't help but remember when he proposed to her, it had been after he found out she was pregnant and she was completely terrified, because she didn't expect her weekend getaway would end up like this.
Flashback
I don't know what I'm going to do, my parents are going to kill me, I don't even have a stable job because the fucking ministry is controlled by bigots and terrorists - Lily said as she paced back and forth in front of James without stopping.
James who was sitting in the living room of his house that his parents gave him, located in Godric's Hollow (It is assumed that it has been in the family for generations) could only watch Lily, the love of his life (Although Padfoot says otherwise), pace back and forth hysterically without understanding in the slightest what was happening - Lily - he called her but she didn't hear him - Lily - he tried again but got the same result, in the end she ended up screaming - LILY.
James who was sitting in the living room of the house that his parents gave him, located in Godric's Hollow (it is assumed that it has been in the family for generations) could only watch Lily, the love of his life (even if insists Padfoot says otherwise), pace back and forth hysterically without him understanding in the slightest what was happening - Lily - he called out but she didn't hear him - Lily - he tried again but got the same result, in the end he ended up shouting - LILY.
WHAT - she shouted back.
I have no idea what you're talking about or even what's going on - James replied.
Oh - was all Lily could say as she seemed to lose all her strength and energy and collapsed onto the couch opposite him.
James waited for her to say something, but after several seconds, he realized she was lost in her own thoughts.
Soooo… What's going on? - he asked as gently as possible.
I'm pregnant - whispered Lily, but James was unable to hear her.
Sorry I didn't hear you, what did you say? - asked James.
I'm pregnant - Lily said again, but louder this time.
James' mind stopped working at that moment, he couldn't think of anything, but after years of training in occlumency, his shields activated and his mind managed to clear, then he began to wonder how could that be, they aren't even together, how can she be pregnant if they haven't done anything yet, they haven't evening kiss for god's sake.
Lily who was watching James' face saw different emotions pass over his face, first it was blank, then realization, then confusion, and it was there that she realized what he was thinking - It's not yours dumbass - she said exasperatedly to James.
What do you mean it's not mine?, but you came to tell me - James replied confused.
We haven't done anything for you yo get me pregnant, we're not even together - Lily answered almost shouting.
That's why I don't understand you, how can you be pregnant if we haven't done anything yet?. - James replied even more confused.
You're telling me I can only get pregnant if it's with you - Lily told him in an overly calm voice.
EXACTLY - replied happily James only to realize too late what he had just said.
Lily just stared at him with a raised eyebrow and a look that promised death if he didn't think carefully about what he was going to say next.
Uh, wa, wa, wait, that's not… that's not what I meant, what I meant was, there was no point in you telling me this if I'm not the father - tried to save James.
Lily looked at him for a second, trying to decide if it was worth it, but then she exhaled tiredly, feeling the stress of the day return - It's not yours, James, I only came here because I didn't know where else to go. My sister hates me, Alice is with Frank, I have no idea where Marlene is, and don't get me started about Severus."
James felt a pang of hatred at the mention of Snape's name but decided to ignore it for the moment and return to the topic at hand - And who's the father then? - he asked.
Lily exhaled again and then answered - A person I met at a bar a week ago, I needed to go out and get rid of all this pressure with this war, and he was there, looking at me as if I was his prey or something, at first I ignored him because the truth is his look made me feel uncomfortable, but then he went up to where I was and began to speak to me all refined and polite as if he were a lord, he began to flirt with me all charming, saying that I was the most beautiful person he had ever seen, that I would was a queen among woman, that I was above all the others and I don't know how many other things, the point is that we had a few drinks (a lot) and in the end I think why not and I kissed him, and the rest is history.
The next day I woke up so embarrassed about everything that I left before he woke up, I even appeared in the middle of the room for fear that if I made too much noise he would wake up, so I didn't know anything more than his name, Klaus - Lily's way of saying it.
James was trying hard not to show how jealous he was, how was it that this person came out of nowhere and conquered her in a few hours when in more than seven years he hasn't gotten anything but her friendship, so he decided to focus on something more important - And you didn't use a contraceptive spell? - he asked.
Lily's cheeks flushed pink as she said - He told me he was infertile.
He told you she was infertile - James clarified.
Yes - said a clearly embarrassed Lily.
AND YOU BELIEVED HIM - shouted James.
I WASN'T THINKING STRAIGHT ALL RIGHT - Lily shouted back.
You weren't thinking straight - said James sarcastically - well that totally justifies it.
I didn't come here for you to shout and judge me ok, if I wanted that I would have gone to my parents - she said - I came here because I needed to tell someone, I was going completely mad by myself.
James stared at her, contemplating the situation for a long time, people would judge and disown her, and more so these days if it turned out that the father was a muggle, but what could he do?.
Lily began to fidget uneasily on the couch waiting for James to say something, it must have been a few minutes before James finally said something that truly surprised her.
Marry me - said James as it was the simplest thing in the world.
What? - Lily asks in shock.
Marry me - repeated James.
You're crazy - she said.
No, wait, listen to me, you said you didn't have a job, I have a fortune gathering dust, I can help you - James replied.
James, I'm not going to marry you for money… - Lily was saying but James interrupted her - I know, I know, but it's not just that, with the current situation in the magical world you and the baby won't be safe, if people find out that a muggleborn is having a baby with a muggle, you'll be target number one for the death eaters
Lily looked at James, still unconvinced by the idea.
This could work, I could even do a blood adoption for the baby to be my son - he said.
Surprised, Lily asked - Would you do that for me?
In a completely honest voice James replied - I would do anything for you.
To this day Lily didn't know how to explain it, but she saw something in James' face that made her change her mind, so she answered - Ok, let's get married.
End of Flashback
In the end she didn't regret her decision, she ended up loving James, and these nine months have been wonderful, no matter what obstacles they faced to get here.
They lied to her parents telling them that they have been in a secret relationship since their last year at Hogwarts, and everyone else who asked was also told the same thing, although her parents didn't seem very convinced, but they decided to accept it, especially hers, as they said it was actually to be expected, since she spends most of her life without them, this only had the effect of made her feel guiltier.
In the case of her friends, Alice and Marlene knew in an instant that this was a lie, so she ended up telling them the truth, and after making sure she was sure of her decision, they ended up supporting them.
On the other hand, James' friends, or as he insisted on calling them, “The Marauders”, Peter believed the lie easily, but neither Sirius nor Remus believed them, so in the end they ended up telling the truth to the two of them, who could only congratulate James for finally having managed to catch her even if not in the traditional way, and in the case of Peter they decided not to tell him, since the fewer people who knew the truth the better.
The whole pregnancy had been normal, there were no problems, the baby was healthy, even the doctor told her she was one of the lucky mothers because she never vomited, what she did have was cravings, but her cravings were always for meat, and for some strange reason she didn't want the meat well cooked, but rather she wanted it still with a little blood in it.
Thinking about it brought her back to the present and she realised about something strange. She found and heard everywhere that childbirth is painful, but she felt no pain. For a while now she could feel the baby moving inside her trying to come out, but there was absolutely no pain.
But she didn't have time to think about that, as in what seemed like only a second, the lights stopped flickering, the wind stopped and the magical pressure seemed to disappear completely, and in its place was replaced by the cry of a baby, her baby, her son, she had a son.
And suddenly it was as if a dam had broken and the tears came uncontrollably, a son, she had a son, she was a mother.
She watched as the nurses cleaned him up so they could pass him to her, she felt the moment last forever until she finally held her son in her arms.
The first thing she saw was a lock of reddish blonde hair, and she felt it was to be expected, she has red hair, his biological father had blonde hair, it was more or less obvious, his face didn't have very marked features yet, but she was sure (and it wasn't because she was his mother) that when he grew up he would be very handsome, but all that was left aside when her baby opened his eyes, when she saw his eyes she was breathless, it was like seeing a mirror, they were her eyes, but if you asked her, she would answer that her baby's eyes were more beautiful, like a pair of emeralds.
A voice distracted her from her thoughts - Sorry to interrupt, but I need the baby's name so I can put it on the record - said one of the nurses.
Hadrian - she heard James say, and she turned to look at him, only to see her adoring face reflected on her husband's face - Hadrian Potter - James finished.
Hadrian James Potter - Lily completed.
James looked at her in surprise - He's as much your son as he is mine - she said, and he just gave her a tearful smile.
Our son - said James.
Our Harry - said Lily.
It had been over a year since Harry was born and Lily and James couldn't be happier, well, they could be if Dumbledore hadn't come knocking on their door one day and told them that there was a prophecy that marked Harry as the one chosen to defeat Voldemort, and after dropping that bombshell on them, all he said was that he advised them to hide, since apparently death eater who was near, heard the prophecy, but no matter how much they asked, he wouldn't tell them who the he death eater was, he just changed the subject and then left promising them all the help they would need and then proceeded to leave saying that he had important matters to attend.
And boy was it true, because thanks to Alice she knew that important matter was to go and tell another family the same thing, so as far as she and James knew there could be more candidates apart from Harry, as they know one, Neville, who was Alice's son, but besides, how many babies are born everyday?, hundreds?, it's possible that the chosen one is somewhere else.
But no matter how little they believed in the prophecy, they decided to take shelter, because they might not believe in it, but apparently Dumbledore did, and if he did it was possible that Voldemort did too, so they took precautions.
They wanted to put up all sorts of wards and protections, muggle repellents, anti-apparition, shields, but in the end they found the holy grail of protections, the Fidelius spell, basically its function was to completely hide a location, someone could be standing inches away from the house and still not see it, they could cast a spell, but it would magically pass by the house, the only way to find the house was if the secret keeper told you where it was.
So one day with Peter at home, they cast the spell with Peter as the secret keeper, the main idea was for Sirius to be the secret keeper, but they ended up choosing Peter when Sirius explained that everyone would expect it to be him, so he would let them think that, while in reality it was Peter.
And that's how they got here, at home sitting in the living room one Halloween night playing with Harry, James was ruffling his now black hair in fascination, still not believing the changes that happened to Harry.
As James had said when he proposed to Lily, at the first chance he got, he made a blood adoption, making him both magically and biologically his son, and heir to the Most Noble and Ancestral House Potter, since sadly both Lily's and James's parents died a few months ago, Lily's in a car accident and James's parents from dragon pox, thus leaving James, Harry and by marriage Lily as the last Potters.
Harry's changes were mostly minor, the most noticeable was the change in hair colour, it didn't want to stay tidy now, but unlike the other Potters who made their hair look like it was intentional, Harry's hair was messy but looked like it had been done by an expert hairstylist, James kept complaining about it, but at least he was saying that the hair curse was broken with Harry and all future Potters would have a better life because of it.
If anyone saw the scene in the living room, they'd think it was one of those families that appear on the cover of a magazine, but sadly this family moment came to an end.
A hooded figure was walking through the streets of Godric's Hollow heading towards a very peculiar house, the Potter's house, this figure walked slowly and confidently towards the house, not giving a damn that he wasn't supposed to be able to see it.
The hooded figure raised his hand, and in it was piece of wood that if you didn't know what it was, it would look like an ordinary piece of wood, but if you knew what it was, you would be more alert than usual and think more about the person holding the piece of wood than the wood itself.
The piece of wood glowed for a moment and then shot out a beam of light.
Inside the house, out of nowhere an explosion was heard ,and then pieces of the door were seen flying off.
James picked up a different piece of wood, now identified as a wand, and positioned himself in front of his family to protect them - Lily it's him, take Harry and run - he said fearfully to his wife.
Lily didn't want to leave, but she had left her wand in Harry's room and knew that without it, she would only be a hindrance to James, so after turning to look at James for a few seconds she grabbed Harry and ran to the stairs.
James, seeing that his family was safe for the moment, turned to the hooded figure coming through the door with the intention of confronting him to protect his family - Voldemort - James said hatefully.
Voldemort looked at him angrily and then said - You dare to use my name.
That's not your name - said James - no mother would call her son Voldemort.
You will pay for your insolence - said Voldemort and then cast a green spell on James, the Killing Curse.
But James wasn't a prodigy at transfiguration for nothing, so he quickly conjured a block of marble in the path of the spell, the block shattered and James sent the remains to Voldemort.
Voldemort quickly vanished them and responded with a bone breaker, but James was ready and blocked the spell to respond with a diffindo which was also blocked, but he didn't stop there, he began to transform and animate the furniture in the house into animals and send them at Voldemort.
Lions, panthers, cats, dogs, tigers, birds, Voldemort was attacked by a small army of all manner of animals, but he was not the most feared dark wizard for nothing, with a mastery that could only be acquired with years of experience, he fended off the attacks, but he realised that if he didn't do something he would not make any headway.
James Potter, the man his own friends betray when offered power - Voldemort sneered in an attempt to distract him.
What? - James asked in confusion, before figuring it out, Voldemort is in his house, which should not be found unless the secret keeper reveals the location, which means Peter has betrayed them.
That distraction cost James, as Voldemort took advantage of the moment of weakness and raised his wand and said - Avada kedavra - immediately a green beam shot out of the wand towards a surprised James.
James' eyes widened like saucers, and seeing that he had no other escape, he decided to do something that he and Lily had planned beforehand, both parents did not fully believe in the prophecy, but neither was willing to risk their son, so they both devised a ritual that would protect their son, all they have to do to activate it is provide magic and a sacrifice, in those last moments James sent his magic to Harry and prayed that this would count as a sacrifice.
And so as James' magic left him and flowed towards Harry, the curse touched James and his body fell lifeless to the floor.
Voldemort paused for a second to look at James' body before continuing on his way to his target.
Upon arriving at Harry's room, Lily retrieved her wand and tried to apparate, but hit a barrier, so instead she tried to use a portkey but it wouldn't activate, she then tried to open the windows but they were sealed shut.
Lily began to despair as she tried to comfort Harry who began to cry as if he understood what was happening, but as she did this, she felt a magical pressure enter Harry, Lily understood immediately that it was James's magic, and couldn't help but let out tears of sadness.
Gathering her courage knowing that there were no more options, Lily prepared herself for the confrontation with Voldemort, she might not survive the night, but she would make sure that Harry did.
It was at that moment that Voldemort destroyed the bedroom door.
Step aside - said Voldemort.
Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry - pleaded Lily.
Stand aside you silly girl - said Voldemort.
Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead - said Lily.
This is my last warning, don't try my patience, get out of my way - said Voldemort.
Kill me, not him - said Lily.
As you wish - said Voldemort - Avada Kedavra.
When Lily heard the first word, she wasted no time and sent her magic at Harry, when the light touched Lily, her body, like James's, fell lifeless to the floor.
Voldemort turned to see the last living occupant in the room other than himself, a baby, a baby who had stopped crying and was staring at him with eyes of a startling emerald color. Wasting no time, he raised his wand and pointed it at Harry.
Avada Kedavra - he said, and then watched as a beam of green light shot towards the target he had come for tonight, the one person he could not allow to grow up and become strong, the one person destined to defeat him.
But what Voldemort didn't know was that a ritual was being activated. After Harry absorbed his parents' magic, this, combined with the sacrifice of his parents, willing to give their lives so he could live, offering two souls to save one, caused little Harry to be surrounded by an invisible aura, almost like a second skin, waiting for the moment it would be needed.
Unfortunately, he didn't have to wait long, as seconds before the green beam of light hit Harry, the now visible aura took on a golden dome-like shape around him, and the moment the curse hit the dome, it bounced back in the direction of the person who cast it, This was a surprised Voldemort who had no time to do more than open his eyes in surprise before the curse hit him and his body was disintegrated by the magic protecting Harry, leaving as evidence only a lightning bolt scar, which functioned as a rune drawn by Lily to anchor the ritual to Harry.
Harry was left alone and cried again wanting his parents to come for him, because he knew somehow he wouldn't see them again for a long time, which only made him cry harder, if anyone had been with him in those moments, they would have seen the golden aura compress again and become like a second skin around him and then become invisible, and if they had been looking into his eyes, they would have seen the normally emerald eyes change for a second to a golden colour.
In the middle of the night on an ordinary street, with houses frighteningly alike, a pair of very peculiar people could be found.
One of them looked considerably older, with his white hair and beard, his appearance flamboyant you might say, he seemed to be wearing what might be a robe, but it was the design of the robe that was most striking, it was stars on a purple background, but if you looked at it for too long it looked like the stars were twinkling.
The other person looked younger, wore what looked like a green dress or robe, and had a serious expression on her face, the kind you only see when you know you're in trouble.
Albus, are you sure this is the right decision?, I've been watching them all day, they're terrible - said the younger person, to the now identified as Albus.
Calm down, Minerva, they're his family, of course they'll accept it - he replied.
We both know that just because they are family doesn't mean they are going to love him - replied Minerva curtly.
Albus's face briefly flashed with pain before he opened his mouth to respond, but at that moment a noise from the sky distracted them.
In the sky they could see what looked like a motorbike being ridden by a huge man, almost twice the size of an average person, and slowly the motorbike slowed to a stop in front of the two people already present.
Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall - said the man.
Hagrid - Albus replied, while Minerva just nodded in acknowledgement - Where did you get a motorcycle?
Sirius gave it to me, he was there when I arrived, and he gave me little Harry and the keys to his motorcycle so I could get him to safety - Hagrid replied.
Was there any trouble? - Albus asked.
No Professor, the baby was quiet. He fell asleep while we were flying over Bristol - Hagrid replied.
Albus turned his gaze to the bundle of blankets in Hagrid's arms, and the first thing he noticed wasn't the baby's appearance, or even the strange scar on its forehead, but rather the overwhelming power the baby contained.
Albus didn't know how this was possible, how the baby was so powerful?, if he didn't do something its powers would grow, and he wouldn't be able to control him enough to face his destiny of stopping Voldemort. He was the one present when the prophecy was spoken, so he should be the one in charge of ensuring its fulfillment. He would have continued thinking about his plans that had to be adjusted according to the new situation, but a voice distracted him.
Was it there…? - Minerva asks quietly.
Albus didn't know what she was talking about, was it there what?, he thought, so he followed Minerva's gaze to the baby and for the first time noticed a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead, but instantly realized it wasn't a normal scar, it's releasing large amounts of magic.
This is it, he thought, will mark him as his equal, he remembered the words of the prophecy, this could only be that mark, so if his deduction was correct (which it obviously always was), it should contain a piece of Voldemort's soul, so it all makes sense, because either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives, that's what the prophecy said. It all makes sense. For Voldemort to die, Harry Potter must die.
Yes - Albus replied, trying not to react - he'll have that scar forever.
Can't you do something, Albus? - Minerva asked.
Do something?, Albus thought, of course I will, I'll make sure he doesn't get any more powerful, he continued thinking, then said - Hold him tight, Hagrid, let me try some healing spells.
As Hagrid settled little Harry so they could see him better, Albus took out his wand, the Elder Wand, one of the three Deathly Hallows, made by Death itself, the most powerful wand, and pointed it at Harry, but instead of healing him, he blocked his powers, causing a large part of them to be inaccessible to Harry, this would not normally be possible, since inadvertently for everyone, Harry was not an ordinary wizard, since apart from having the ability to do magic classified as wand magic, he also possessed the ability to do Wiccan magic, which unlike wand magic, does not have a large repertoire of spells and a very important point of these wizards and witches, is the ability to absorb power from astronomical or celestial events, such as a full moon, northern lights, eclipses, etc.
This magic comes from her biological father's lineage, but something else to keep in mind is that in his father's line, the firstborn always has more power, so regardless of the fact that part of his magic was sealed, his magic fought against the seals, increasing and becoming more powerful little by little trying to break them.
Another thing that nobody knew at that time is the great significance that Harry's birth had, since Lily may have not think that it was important to investigate more about Harry's biological father, but she must have done so, since unlike what she thought, his father was not a normal Muggle that you meet in a bar on a weekend, he was not a wiccan wizard either, no, what he is, is something more important, he is a vampire, and not just any vampire, but an original vampire, and if that were not enough, this vampire is also part werewolf, and Harry as his son inherited all of that.
So little Harry in one night was blocked from not one, not two, but three important parts of him, leaving only his wand magic active, since Albus, thinking that all that power was the same thing, did not bother to check otherwise, leaving the first trihybrid in history with only active wand magic in his wide repertoire of powers, leaving him as an ordinary wizard, but a powerful one.
I couldn't heal the wound, it's full of magic, it'll be impossible to heal it - Albus lied, pretending to look defeated.
Minerva and Hagrid could only nod, they trusted Albus, he was the most powerful and wisest wizard in the world after all, he could make no mistakes.
Can I say goodbye to him? - Hagrid asked, and without waiting for an answer, he leaned down to the baby and kissed him on the forehead, then let out a howl like a wounded dog.
Get a grip Hagrid, someone may notice us - Minerva scolded.
I'm sorry Professor - replied an embarrassed Hagrid.
Albus took the baby in his arms and walked towards house number 4, he left Harry in front of the fireplace and placed a letter in his blankets before returning to his companions.
The three of them stared at the small bundle until Albus spoke - Well, we should go let's not draw too much attention to ourselves.
I have to take the bike somewhere safe - said Hagrid - goodnight, Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall - he then got on the bike and left.
I'll see you later - said Albus, he then turned and disappeared with a sharp crack signifying his disappearance.
Minerva looked at the bundle of blankets one last time and couldn't help but whisper - Good luck Harry - before turning around and disappearing with a sharp crack.
