Work Text:
Hanging out at Minho's place was the perfect way to spend their long weekend. With Minho's free from work, and Seungmin's classes cancelled, a long weekend of rest, hanging out with their friends, sleep, and maybe fucking was on the table.
With a world-weary groan, Seungmin slumped on the couch. "Finally Friday~" he sang.
Cold metal touched Seungmin's cheek and he jumped. Minho held out a diet soda, and Seungmin took it thankfully. "Do you want to stay the night?"
"I don't have my stuff."
"You can borrow mine."
"Okay~" Seungmin buried himself further into the couch. "But let me just sit here for a bit."
"If you insist."
Minho sat next to him and swung his feet onto Seungmin's lap. Seungmin made a face and a small noise as Minho's sock-clad foot jabbed him in the ribs, but didn't push his feet off. He placed a hand on Minho's ankle, just for that point of contact.
They sat in comfortable silence, both busy on their phones. Seungmin scrolled through his email backlog while Minho's phone blasted Shorts Jisung must have sent him. Minho must have turned the airconditioning on at some point, so the room was extra cool and comfortable. A refreshing drink and the love of Seungmin's life. God it was sappy, and Seungmin acknowledged it.
Seungmin turned off his phone, set down his drink, and turned to Minho. "Wanna make out?" he asked.
Minho looked up and raised an eyebrow. "Are you that bored?"
Seungmin shrugged. After a busy week of exams and intense workflow where they barely got to see each other, Seungmin just needed to be that much closer to Minho. They spend too much together—it's sickening that Seungmin felt this way after only a week apart. How was Seungmin going to cope if they were apart for even longer?
Minho must have seen something in Seungmin's face. He pulled his legs off of Seungmin's lap and scooted closer, his knees knocking against Seungmin's. He gently took off Seungmin's glasses. He leaned forward gave Seungmin a lingering but chaste kiss. Seungmin chased his mouth, but he pulled back and grinned. "Satisfied?"
Seungmin helplessly grinned back. "You can do better than that."
Minho definitely took that as a challenge. He swung his leg over Seungmin to settle on his lap, placing Seungmin's glasses on the side table. Seungmin's hands shot to his waist to feel his firm torso. Minho slung his arms around Seungmin's shoulders, reaching around to clasp his hands together. He looked down at Seungmin. He was so pretty from this angle, the late afternoon sun casting sharp shadows across his face. "Hi."
"Hi."
Minho kissed him.
Seungmin let out a pleased hum against Minho's lips. His hands slowly caressed the strong thighs bracketing his own. He could wax poetic about those thighs, and he probably already had, in his mind. Hands traveled up and down Minho's thighs and waist, eventually slipping underneath his shirt to touch the soft skin there.
Minho licked into Seungmin's mouth in response, a hand moved to Seungmin's chin to guide his head into position. A tilt, and their mouths slotted perfectly together, lips very familiar with each other's taste. From this angle, he pressed, deeper, and Seungmin's head fell back against couch.
Minho squirmed on Seungmin's lap, moving even closer until they're chest to chest, unknowing of where one ended and the other began. Cheekily, Minho firmly grinded his hips down onto Seungmin's. All of Seungmin's rational thought went straight to his jeans. Seungmin let out a small sound from the back of his throat, almost a whine but not quite. He dug his blunt nails into Minho's waist which made him jolt. Cute.
Seungmin pulled away slightly, teeth catching Minho's bottom lip, and whispered, "Ticklish?"
"Stupid dog," Minho murmured back and locked their lips again.
Seungmin bit Minho's lip in retaliation, and Minho shuddered against his chest. Seungmin only wished they could get even closer, that he could live in Minho's chest and be carried around there wherever he went. Being here, on Minho's well-worn couch, lips and limbs intertwined on a lazy Friday afternoon—it was perfect. Minho was perfect. Though Seungmin would never say it out loud.
Minho tightened his grip in Seungmin's hair. He grinded down again, and Seungmin's hips jerked up to meet his. Seungmin's hands moved from Minho's waist to his ass, gripping harshly and guiding him to grind down harder. Minho let out a grunt against Seungmin's mouth. Seungmin could feel how hard Minho was through his jeans, and Seungmin was sure he was the same. But they were in no rush, at least Seungmin wasn't in any.
Minho must have read his mind again, not picking up the pace, but relentlessly, lazily circling his hips for a small amount of friction. Seungmin groped his ass some more, pushing and pulling and squeezing, loving the feeling of strong muscle under his palms. Minho moaned around Seungmin's tongue at a particularly harsh squeeze.
Seungmin pulled back fully this time, panting slightly. He must have held his breath at that last stretch.
Minho looked ethereal, red kiss-bitten lips, a pink flush high on his cheeks and at the tips of his ears, chest heaving. Seungmin could kneel at his altar if he knew Minho wouldn't be so annoying about it.
He squished Seungmin's cheeks with one hand, pushing his lips into a pout. "Don't look at me like that," he complained.
Seungmin said something unintelligable through his squished lips. Minho let go. "How am I looking at you?" Seungmin repeated, clearer.
"Brat, you know what I mean."
Seungmin laughed. Despite his head drunk on kisses and the uncomfortable addicting pressure in his pants, his chest felt light. He buried his face into Minho's neck, arms winding around his waist, willing his own heart to calm down. Minho hugged Seungmin's head close and rested his cheek on top of Seungmin's head. It only made Seungmin's heart even more full.
They've known each other for almost 3 years now, have been dating for a little over 4 months, but Seungmin couldn't imagine a life without this. He loved his friends, he really did, but having Minho in his life like this was something else entirely.
"Seungmin-ah."
Seungmin hummed into Minho's neck. He nipped at his pulse point, and Minho smacked his back hard enough to punch out a laugh.
"Do you want to finish?"
Seungmin didn't respond right away, busy mouthing his way to Minho's ear. He licked at the soft flesh below Minho's ear. Minho grabbed him by the hair and pulled him away. "Ah aaah, hyung, that hurts, that hurts!" Seungmin whined.
"Answer hyung's question." Minho lightly bit Seungmin's chin.
Seungmin thought about it for a second and shook his head. "I don't need to," he answered softly. And it was true. He was already softening slightly in his pants, aroused still but not really chasing that release. "Do you want me to do you?" He reached between them to palm at Minho's crotch.
Minho shuddered at the pressure, but shook his head and moved Seungmin's hand away. "No need."
They were on the same page luckily. Thinking back, despite their admittedly rocky start as friends, they were surprisingly immediately sexually compatible as boyfriends. On a long weekend like this one, they spent a whole day just finding out what the other liked.
Seungmin studied Minho constantly, committed to mind what he liked, what he needed, and what made him happy. Sometimes he needed a good "dicking down", as Jisung would call it. Other times he pushed Seungmin down and had his way with him, rearranging Seungmin's limbs to his liking. And times like this, he just needed to be close. Seungmin was too exhausted for more right now. He just wanted Minho. And the best part was Minho wanted him too.
Minho kissed Seungmin's forehead and climbed off his lap. "I'll get started on dinner. Does grilled chicken sound good?"
"Yes~ Thank you, hyung."
"Mhm."
Minho escaped to the kitchen, and Seungmin, happy with the free space, laid across the entirety of the couch. He still felt warm, but more content than aroused now. He shifted a bit, a little annoyed but not completely bothered by the wet feeling in his underwear. He'll take a shower after dinner anyway. As Seungmin put his glasses back on, his phone pinged.

Eventually, Seungmin just turned on Do Not Disturb. Why were they so shocked about this? Did he not mention anything in the last few months? Seungmin paused and examined his memories, looking back to see if he or Minho ever brought it up.
It just didn't seem too important to tell anyone at the time. That first month, Seungmin wanted Minho all to himself. Nothing substantial had changed in their behavior, but when it was just them two, Seungmin wanted. He wanted so much, and Minho was so kind to give and give, even if he was outwardly difficult about it. Minho let Seungmin be as selfish he wanted. His hyung was kind like that. And then after that, Seungmin just…didn't think about straight up telling anyone. In his head, it was obvious. The banter, the coffee runs, the stupid nicknames.
But wait. If Seungmin didn't tell anyone he and Minho were dating…
Seungmin peeked into the kitchen. "Hyung?"
The smell of chicken was strong here. Seungmin felt his mouth water, but he was on a mission. Minho didn't look away from the stove. "Hm?"
"Did you tell the others that we're together?"
"Us?"
Seungmin nodded. "Mhm."
"No? Why?"
Seungmin shook his head. "I didn't either."
"So?"
"Hyung," Seungmin's said with an incredulous laugh, "I don't think they know we're dating."
Minho finally fully turned to Seungmin, eyes squinted and eyebrows scrunched in disbelief. "Hah?"
"Right?"
Minho laughed, that irritating mocking sound that Seungmin adored. "It's been 4 months. We meet each other daily."
Seungmin shrugged. "I thought they already knew. They keep teasing us about the divorced couple concept."
"Surely they should've figured it out by now."
Seungmin held up and shook his phone. "Hyunjin's trying to set me up with someone. I told him I was taken, and now everyone is blowing up my messages."
Minho brandished his tongs threateningly. "Hyunjinnie better prepare for the next time I see him."
"No wait, don't." Seungmin grinned, manic. "This is the perfect opportunity."
Minho raised an eyebrow though the corner of his lip twitched upward. "You want to mess with them." It came out more as a statement than a question.
"I didn't tell Hyunjin who I was dating. Suggestion: we be more obvious and see how long it takes them to notice. But we don't tell them outright, it wouldn't be as fun."
Minho snorted. "I have very little belief in their observational abilities, but it's worth a shot."
"And of course, we can laugh in their faces after."
"Of course." Minho turned back to the pan and flipped the chicken.
Seungmin slyly added, "And I guess it would be nice to show off after they figure it out. I have a very handsome boyfriend I'd like to kiss in public."
"Shut up." But Minho's ears started flushing red, which meant Seungmin won. He tugged on Minho's warm ear as he passed him to the fridge. Without looking, Minho smacked Seungmin's butt with his free hand. Seungmin laughed, delighted.
Seungmin had his long-awaited glow up late last year at the age of 21, shedding the bulk of his baby fat, getting his braces off, and finally getting LASIK (though he still needed glasses sometimes because of his horrifically high prescription). He found a haircut that suited him, and a curated a better wardrobe courtesy of Jeongin. Hyunjin even convinced him to start wearing makeup sometimes, though he drew the line at piercing his ears. It didn't change him much as a person, but it did provoke reactions from his friends and strangers alike.
To say, the occassional person flirting with Seungmin wasn't a rare occurrence, but it wasn't at all common.
The 00z were eating outside of campus this time at a small gukbap place nearby that Minho took Seungmin to a while back. Jisung and Hyunjin were both individually eyeing Seungmin and exchanging loaded looks between themselves. Seungmin loudly slurped at the broth pointedly. Felix, the angel, didn't bother Seungmin about anything and just ate his own food.
Hyunjin put down his spoon and jabbed his finger into Seungmin's face. Seungmin jerked back and choked on his rice. "Why didn't you tell us you were dating someone?!"
Felix patted Seungmin on the back as he gulped down water. Seungmin wiped his mouth and glared at Hyunjin. "Dude, I was eating!" He gulped down more water.
Jisung had the decency to let Seungmin stop drinking before pouncing. He leaned forward, elbows on the table, hands cupping his cheeks. "Who is it? Do we know him? Is he a sunbae?" Jisung turned to Hyunjin. "He's probably a sunbae, right?"
Seungmin was not going to dignify Jisung with an answer, no matter how correct he was. But then he remembered the Plan. He was going to bother Minho about it later, but this was a good first step. Let's hint at it.
Seungmin hummed. "Yeah, he's a sunbae." Technically. Minho graduated last year.
Jisung's eyes widened. "Wow, I didn't think you were just going to answer me."
"Why did you keep it a secret?" Hyunjin flailed.
Felix pouted. "You didn't tell me about this either."
Seungmin shrugged. "It never came up."
"It totally came up before!"
"When do you ever ask me about my love life?" Seungmin asked, incredulous.
Hyunjin opened his mouth to answer. Then closed his mouth because he had no answer. A moment, and he said, "I asked you Friday!"
"And before that?"
No response again. Seungmin shrugged. "You really only talk about your own love lives. Or Channie hyung's. Or Changbinnie hyung's."
Hyunjin squawked. "We're the only ones who actively go on dates! You barely meet others, even Jisung talks to more people than you nowadays!"
"Hey." Jisung frowned.
Hyunjin just barreled on, looking at Seungmin in disbelief. "How did you of all people get a boyfriend?"
Jisung shook his head. "No, no, Seungminnie's always been a catch. He has that nerdy boy-next-door swag."
"And he's surprisingly good at sports," Felix added, "It's like a fun twist."
"He is hotter nowadays," Hyunjin agreed solemnly.
"Not just nowadays," Jisung said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Seungmin rolled his eyes despite his warm cheeks. His friends rarely genuinely compliment him to his face, courtesy of him doing the same of course, but still. "Hey, stop talking about me like I'm not here." Hyunjin just laughed.
They finished up the last of their gukbap eventually with Seungmin going up to pay at the counter. Just because he hated his friends didn't mean he was unwilling to pay for their food. It just meant he was meaner about it. While Seungmin waited for his receipt, he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Excuse me."
Seungmin turned and glanced down to see a pair of high school girls, in uniform and all. One of them nudged the other with her elbow, though both looked flustered.
One of them met Seungmin's gaze with bright eyes. "Oppa, we see you busk around Hongdae! We just wanted to tell you that we think you're so cool."
Seungmin gave them a polite smile and a slight bow. Embarrassing to be recognized for this, but he was flattered. "Ah yes, thank you for listening."
The girl who spoke nudged her friend. The girl looked down briefly, embarrassment over her features, before looking back up at Seungmin, her phone clutched in her hands. "Oppa, is it okay if I get your number?"
Seungmin mentally paused. Huh. That was a new one. If Minho were here, he'd get such a laugh out of it. Seungmin shook his head slowly. "Sorry, I'm taken."
The girl turned to her friend and hissed, "I told you!" under her breath. The friend just looked back at Seungmin. "Whoever oppa is dating is very lucky!"
Seungmin just chuckled. "I'm definitely luckier." Making a snap decision, he took out his phone, unlocked it, and showed his home wallpaper to the girls.
It was a candid shot of Minho at a cafe the moment he looked up to see Seungmin snap the photo. It was taken on one of their weekly cafe runs, even before they started dating. Minho wore a padded jacket (his missing scarf around the Seungmin behind the camera), his hair freshly-washed and fluffy, his face bare and incredibly handsome, with the straw of his iced americano between his teeth. The textbook definition of a boyfriend photo.
The girl who asked for Seungmin's number turned bright red. Her friend oooed appreciatively. "Woah." She gave Seungmin a thumbs up. "Great catch, oppa."
The other girl, visibly still very flustered, pulled her friend down to bow. "Sorry to bother you! We'll be going now."
"It's okay." Seungmin just waved as the two of them scurry away, whispering to each other. He finally eventually got the receipt. As he walked back to the table to grab his bag, Jisung slung an arm over his shoulders, pulling him down. "Oof!"
"Did she just ask you out? Look at our Seungminnie getting all this attention!"
Seungmin poked Jisung's cheek. "They just recognized me from busking and asked for my number. I said no."
"What a loyal man!" Jisung cooed.
Felix appeared on Seungmin's other side. "So sexy~" he teased.
Seungmin scoffed. "Even if I didn't have a boyfriend, I don't date high schoolers."
The four of them trail out of the restaurant packed tightly together because apparently, none of them can go ten minutes without some form of contact with the others.
The walk back to Hyunjin and Changbin's place was full of Hyunjin badgering him for details about his supposed secret boyfriend. Felix even chimed in here and there because he wanted to see Seungmin suffer.
"It was never a secret," Seungmin pointed out.
Hyunjin smacked Seungmin, but also wrapped his arms around him after, dropping his chin on Seungmin's shoulder. Seungmin wiggled half-heartedly as they walked. "Aren't we best friends? Have I done something to wrong you?"
"Hey," Jisung cut in, "Kim Seungmin is my best friend."
"I'm literally his roommate, so Seungminnie is my best friend," Felix chirped.
"Jeongin is my best friend," Seungmin said meanly.
Hyunjin ruffled Seungmin's hair violently, so Seungmin pulled away and hid behind Felix, though that didn't do much in terms of actually hiding. It was Felix's turn to hang off Seungmin's back as they walked.
They finally reached the apartment building, hearts content and stomachs full. Jisung sprawled across the couch, and Felix sprawled across Jisung. Hyunjin disappeared into his room to grab Blue Marble that they planned on playing.
"You don't have classes on Thursdays, right?" Jisung asked, cheek smooshed against the couch. When Seungmin nodded affirmative, he continued, "Can I steal you for recording? There's this demo I love, but it didn't sound right for me to sing it."
"What do I get in return?"
"My love and respect?" Jisung offered.
Seungmin just stared silently.
"Don't just look at me," Jisung whined.
Seungmin laughed. "Weak." Seungmin took out his phone. "Let me just put it on my calendar. What time are you thinking?"
"Late afternoon? Night? I have one class in the morning."
Seungmin double checked. "I can do 6:30?"
Jisung gave him a thumbs up. "You should send me your calendar," Jisung suggested, "I work around your fucked up schedule too much not to know."
Seungmin eyed the blocked out time on Mondays called 'Coffee Date w/ Cat hyung 💜'. That might give away the game too early. But also, Seungmin has no faith in his friends to not take that ironically. Except maybe Chan.
"I'll send you an email of my current classes and lessons," Seungmin decided, "I'm not adding you to my calendar though."
"Who still emails their friends?" Felix teased.
"Me," Seungmin said.
He just about finished typing in the event when Hyunjin returned with the board game. "Blue Marble~" he sing-songed. Hyunjin peeked over Seungmin's shoulder as he exited his calendar app. Hyunjin's eyebrows shot up. "Why is Minho hyung your wallpaper?"
Felix craned his head over to look. Jisung just buried his face further into the couch cushion, completely done and probably near sleep.
"Hyung forced me to change it," Seungmin said, technically not lying. When Seungmin mentioned wanting to use a picture of Minho as his wallpaper, Minho reviewed all the photos Seungmin took of him and picked the best one. Seungmin would've otherwise used one of Minho's dumb SNOW filter selfies that Minho snuck onto his phone. Minho was cute either way, but he went on a rant about how he's Seungmin's boyfriend now and Seungmin had to have a good boyfriend picture. His still blinked profusely when he saw the photo. At how Seungmin saw him even before they got together.
Felix made grabby hands. Seungmin laughed but handed over his phone anyway. "What was your wallpaper before?" he asked.
"I think it was a sunset picture I took when my family went to Busan."
Hyunjin laughed. "That's so boring of you, Kim Seungmin."
"Which is why Minho hyung forced me to change it."
Seungmin watched Felix look at his wallpaper and waited for some kind of comment. Felix was one of the closer ones to Minho, so he should clock the action as odd. Or something like that. Honestly, Seungmin didn't really know if it was odd in the scope of everything Minho could be.
Felix just smiled. "Hyung looks so boyfriend in this picture."
Seungmin waited a moment longer, eyes trained on his friend. Will he figure it out?
Felix continued, "Did he send this to you? I don't remember if I took it or not, but he did ask me to take some photos when we went cafe hopping a couple months ago."
Seungmin sighed. So close.
Jisung, who apparently wasn't asleep, turned and took the phone from Felix. "Huh, this is very boyfriend. He should post this on Insta."
Seungmin just reached out for his phone. "Please just give my phone back."
Hyunjin plopped onto the carpet and opened the Blue Marble box. "Let's play!"
The four of them gathered on the carpet. Part 1 of the Plan was a failure. Or was it a success? Seungmin should have codified the rules somewhere.
Next part of the Plan actually had Minho in the vicinity. Jeongin wanted Seungmin to look over his fashion portfolio for a second pair of eyes, and Minho kindly invited himself to their apartment to hang out.
Minho lounged on length of Jeongin's bed. At the edge of the bed, Seungmin and Jeongin looked over everything on Jeongin's laptop.
"I think you can put this series of photos before this," Seungmin said, pointing at the pictures in question. "You want to separate the collections right? But you don't need a drastic jump."
Jeongin hummed and moved the photos around. "Yeah, okay that looks better. I think."
Seungmin knocked his shoulder against Jeongin's. "You don't need to second guess yourself, your portfolio is good."
Behind them, Minho yawned loudly and obnoxiously. Jeongin looked back and scowled. "What are you even doing here?"
Minho grinned lazily. "To bother my lovely dongsaengs of course."
"You're not even doing anything," Seungmin pointed out.
"My sheer presence has power over you." Minho winked. He's not wrong, but Seungmin is not admitting to anything, ever.
"Get out," Jeongin demanded.
Minho poked Jeongin's side with his foot, and he jerked away. Minho did the same to Seungmin who caught Minho's ankle and pushed it away. Minho turned back to his original victim.
"Don't touch me!" Jeongin's laptop shifted precariously on his lap, so Seungmin took it before it could fall, allowing Jeongin to more easily push Minho's leg away. Minho, not being one to back down, hooked his arm around Jeongin's neck and dragged him onto the bed. Jeongin's cut off yelp was smothered into the bed as Minho manhandled him into a chokehold.
Seungmin hated to note that it was a familiar position to himself. Not in the sexual way. Sometimes in the sexual way. As it was, Seungmin just laughed at Jeongin.
"Seungmin hyung! Save me!" Minho covered Jeongin's mouth and held him in a loving? chokehold.
"Our maknae won't accept my love?" he teased, "After all I've done for him?"
Jeongin frantically tapped at Minho's arm around his neck and shoulders. Minho let go because he wasn't a monster, and shifted his focus onto Seungmin.
Aware of his fate, Seungmin placed the laptop back in Jeongin's lap. Seungmin had the breath punched out of him when Minho hooked his leg across Seungmin's torso and pulled him backwards. His back hit Minho's torso as Minho locked him in a chokehold. Seungmin complained wordlessly, loudly, genuinely struggling as Minho's much stronger arms and legs held him close.
"Minho hyung, we're busy," Jeongin scolded.
Seungmin dug his bony elbow into Minho's stomach. Minho let go to nurse his wounds, but Seungmin just turned around and flopped completely onto Minho legs, his face on top of Minho's stomach. He fought the urge to bite him through his shirt.
Minho rolled his eyes and threaded his fingers through Seungmin's hair. "You've been stressing over the order of the pictures in your gallery for like 30 minutes. I swear, it's fine. Look, Seungmin is absolutely exhausted by you right now."
Seungmin jabbed his elbow again, this time into Minho's thigh. He jolted slightly, but didn't budge otherwise.
Jeongin raised an eyebrow at Seungmin clinging onto Minho. "You're not going to throw him off you? Are you not divorced anymore?"
Seungmin rested his chin on Minho's stomach. Minho looked down and met Seungmin's eyes, his own eyebrow raised. Seungmin tried to signal with his eyes, 'Do whatever you want.' Minho hummed. Seungmin huffed, not quite a laugh.
"I'm trying out a new concept," Minho said easily, "Keep your enemies closer. Physically."
"And Seungmin hyung?"
"I'm destroying his insides with my mind," Seungmin said.
Minho's eyes brightened ominously, and he wiggled his eyebrows. "I know another way you can destroy my insides."
Seungmin groaned.
A long moment before Jeongin got it and turned bright red. "Gross! Keep those thoughts to yourself!"
"Why?" Minho asked, "It's just you two here."
"We're not that close, hyung," Jeongin said, lying. He glanced down at Seungmin, presumably making sure Seungmin wasn't uncomfortable with the joke. Seungmin sent a discreet thumbs up and mouthed 'I'm good'. It was true Minho didn't usually direct the dirty jokes to Seungmin (usually he did it to Chan or Changbin), but Seungmin found them hilarious against his will.
Seungmin then looked straight into Minho's eyes and said smugly, "Pervert."
Minho pinched the skin of Seungmin's neck, and Seungmin dug his chin into Minho's stomach. Minho tried to pinch Seungmin's nose, and Seungmin snapped his teeth at Minho's hand like he was going to bite. "Jeongin-ah," Minho whined, "our dog is misbehaving again."
"Don't involve me in whatever pet play this is." Jeongin gestured to Seungmin laying across Minho's legs.
Was he going to figure it out? Was he going to say something? Seungmin was kind of rooting for Jeongin to figure it out first, but he was biased.
But Jeongin didn't elaborate any further. He just went back to his laptop to continue fussing with his portfolio website. Either he figured it out and was way too casual about Minho and Seungmin dating (or fucking), or he didn't suspect a thing. Or he was too stressed to care about his friends' relationship. The third could be very likely. They would have to try again another time.
Seungmin and Minho met eyes again. Seungmin hid his giggles into Minho's stomach, feeling more than hearing Minho's own laugh. And there went part 2 of whatever Plan this was.
Seungmin eventually gave up on separating the Plan into parts. Mainly because there was no competition, and also because Minho hadn't been participating in the Plan because of the extra hours he had to put in the dance studio. Something about new arrivals to their crew. So he hadn't been around their friend group as much as Seungmin had been. Minho called it happenstance, Seungmin affectionately called it slacking off.
"Did you know Seungmin was seeing someone?" Jisung threw into the silence of the studio. Seungmin nearly dropped his headphones. Changbin did drop his headphones.
Chan looked up from his laptop and raised an eyebrow. He gave Seungmin a kind smile. "Ah, really? I didn't know, but congrats Seungminnie!"
"Thanks, hyung."
"You're dating someone?" Changbin nearly screeched.
Seungmin shied away, hand over his ear. "So noisy!"
Changbin turned to Jisung. "When did you find this out?"
"Seungminnie told Hyunjinnie, and Hyunjinnie told me and Jeonginnie, and then I told Lix and Minho hyung."
"Actually, I told Minho hyung," Seungmin corrected. Jisung didn't seem to pick up on it.
"So we're the last to know," Chan summarized.
"You! Why didn't you tell your favorite hyung?" Changbin squeezed Seungmin's nape like he was a misbehaving dog. Seungmin slumped, annoyed by the scolding and relaxed by the action.
"Why is everybody acting like this? It's not that interesting," Seungmin complained.
"You don't really talk about your love life," Chan said.
"You're insanely uptight about most things." Jisung yelped and dodged the cushion Seungmin threw. "Like, we know you're fun. But I kinda just thought dating wasn't your thing."
"You're not much of a romantic," Chan added. He clicked something on his laptop. "Do we want to start recording or?"
"How long has this been going on?" Changbin asked, bulldozing over Chan's question.
"4 months?" Seungmin's answer came out as more of a question. It drew all three of 3racha's gazes to him, all in various states of confusion and disbelief.
"You kept a whole entire boyfriend from us for 4 months?!" Jisung asked.
Even Chan was confused and vaguely impressed. Changbin let out a disbelieving scoff. "Man."
"It'll be 5 months on the 22nd," Seungmin added uselessly.
Chan counted backwards on his fingers. "You got together on your birthday?"
Seungmin nodded.
"So it's someone in your class?" Changbin asked. "'Cause we didn't hang out on your actual birthday."
Jisung said with a mischievous grin, "Seungmin said his boyfriend is a sunbae."
Chan laughed knowingly making Seungmin's cheeks warm up. He never should have confessed his short-lived crush on Chan to the man himself, nor his preference for an older significant other. He was horribly drunk that night to be fair to himself. The worst situation would have been if Minho was there, at a time when Seungmin was just starting to come to terms with his very pathetic, long-lived crush on him. He would've cried then and there if Minho ever made fun of him for it. Seungmin needed to salvage whatever's left of his reputation.
"So not in your class?" Changbin asked again.
Jisung shook his head. "No, he could still be in one of Seungmin's classes. Or maybe he's on the debate team." He turned accusing eyes onto Seungmin. "You've been spending too much time with the debate team for not being on the debate team."
Seungmin rolled his eyes. "Just because I don't compete doesn't mean I do nothing on the debate team. I've been helping them with research and judging for their practice rounds for the upcoming tournament."
Changbin pointed. "Nerd."
"Can we please start recording?" Chan asked exasperated. "I know I own this studio, but I'm more worried about Seungminnie's schedule."
Seungmin shoved his headphones over his head. "Okay, let's start."
"Let's go!" Changbin cheered.
Jisung rolled his eyes, but leaned over Chan's shoulder to move the mouse. "Here, I'll play the guide for you."
Seungmin formed an okay sign with his fingers and leaned into the travel recording setup. They would definitely bother him more after this session.
Only an hour or so later, after finishing the last of the doubling and harmonies, Seungmin was finally done with recording. Jisung mouthed off constantly, but his genius with music could never be denied. Seungmin took off his headphones and moved the travel recording setup to the side.
Chan played back the track for them to listen for any changes.
Changbin tilted his head, impressed. "Woah, Seungmin's voice…"
"Right?" Chan smiled.
Jisung hummed in approval. "Vocals sound all good to me. Seungmin?"
"If you're satisfied," Seungmin said. If he had all the time and energy in the world, he would nitpick at every weird inflection in his voice, but at first listen, he sounded good, and what mattered was what he was capable of now than what ifs. He had to convince himself otherwise nothing would ever get done. Still, it did sound good enough.
Thankfully, Jisung didn't go back to interrogating Seungmin, instead commandeering Chan's seat to do some finishing touches on the track, headphones snug over his head. Chan wandered over to the couch and sat down between Seungmin and Changbin. He laid his head on Seungmin's shoulder, and Seungmin playfully shoved him off.
"Seungmin~"
"Oh no."
Chan wrapped his arms around Seungmin and dragged him half onto his lap. Seungmin yelped. "Our precious Seungminnie has a boyfriend!"
"I thought you weren't going to make a big deal out of this," Seungmin whined.
"Nah, Channie hyung was just waiting to strike," Changbin said.
"I'm not going to interrogate you, I just wanted to ask," Chan said, bodily swinging himself and Seungmin side to side. Seungmin just slumped over Chan's lap, accepting his fate. Chan continued, "Are you happy with him?"
"I am," Seungmin responded immediately, easily, sappily, like it was the only answer ever because it was, "I'm really really happy."
Chan and Changbin shared a look and smiled over Seungmin's slumped body.
"We don't want to force you, but we'd like to meet him sometime," Chan said gently.
Changbin rolled up his sleeve and flexed. "I have to introduce your man to these guns."
"Don't flirt with my boyfriend!"
Changbin wiggled his eyebrows. "Oho, so you're saying he'd like my biceps?"
Everyone in their friend group greatly appreciated the aesthetics of Changbin's biceps, no question there. But still, Seungmin flushed pink and smacked Changbin who yelped and grabbed his arm like the slap was harder than it was. "Shut up."
"When do you think you can introduce us?" Chan asked.
"You already know him though?"
Chan's grip on Seungmin slackened, so he took the opportunity to escape to the other couch at the other end of the room.
Changbin whined. "That can mean anything, Channie hyung knows everyone!"
"Just me? Or does Changbin know him too?"
Seungmin vaguely gestured around the room. "All of you know him."
Changbin grabbed his phone. "Quick, let's look through our contacts."
Seungmin's alarm went off at the most appropriate time, so he scooped up his bag. "Oh look at the time!"
"Don't you leave before we figure this out!" Changbin demanded.
Seungmin slipped out of the recording studio and speed-walked away, the sounds of Changbin's complaining and Chan's laughter fading into the distance.
The sun was down already by the time Seungmin got outside. At the parking lot, as Seungmin fumbled with the car keys (to what was technically Jeongin's car), his phone rang. A call from 'Cat hyung'.
"What's up?"
Minho snickered over the line. "Changbin is texting me if I know who your boyfriend is."
"And you answered?"
"I left him on read," Minho said with glee.
"Aren't we supposed to help them figure it out?"
"You can help them, I will actively hinder their investigation."
Seungmin laughed. "Damn, I really should have codified rules or something. We could have made it a competition. Or made it make any sense."
"You really think too much, just have fun with it. And remember, we'll laugh at them all after."
Seungmin nodded solemnly. "We'll laugh at them after. Any other reason you're calling?"
"…SoonDoongDo miss you."
"Oh you're at home right now?"
"Yeah, visiting my parents for a bit because our crew is in Gimpo for rehearsals for the rest of the week."
There's a long drawn out meow in the background. Seungmin burst into giggles.
Minho groaned. "See, they know I'm calling you. They have super senses."
"Are they the only ones who miss me?" Seungmin teased.
"You think too highly of yourself. But yes, I guess I do."
"I miss you too." How Seungmin was ever able to be apart from Minho when they were still just friends, he didn't know. "You're back on Sunday anyway, right?"
"Mhm. Come to my apartment again?"
"Actually, I'm going to go to the PC Bang with Felix and Jeongin on Sunday, we're gonna make a day of it because I have a couple things to do on Saturday. I'll call you though."
"Okay. I'll go now." Minho paused. "Bye. Love you."
Minho immediately hung up before Seungmin could say anything back. Seungmin flopped against the side of the car and nearly squealed. He's heard Minho say 'I love you' before—to their friends, to his cats, to his parents, to Seungmin himself when they were just friends (albeit begrudgingly). But this was something new. An 'I love you' from his boyfriend. Like, romantic partner. Person Seungmin has kissed and will kiss again.
Seungmin got a weird look by a passerby, but he just focused on his phone and typed out a KakaoTalk message.
Cat hyung
I love you too idiot 💜
🤢💖
"Jagiya," Hyunjin called out to Minho who was just removing his shoes at the doorway.
The 8 of them decided to meet up at Felix, Seungmin, and Jeongin's apartment in the middle of the week to burn off stress from their upcoming exams and Changbin's thesis. The Seungmin of 2 years ago would've hated taking a break from studying especially since midterms were coming up, but a worried Felix and his insane friend group finally wore Seungmin down to relax once in a while.
Minho hummed. "Yes, jagiya?"
"Have you placed your bet?" Hyunjin asked.
Seungmin groaned loudly and covered his face. He sat with his back against the front of the couch, trying to hide away from the rest. Felix sat beside him and laid himself over Seungmin's lap, giggling at him.
Minho looked amused. He sat down on the couch next to Jisung and threw his arm over Jisung's shoulder. "Bet for what?"
"On what Seungmin's boyfriend is like!"
Changbin explained further, "We don't have many details, so we're just throwing stuff at the wall. Whoever gets closest gets all the money."
"All the 5000 won we each put in the pool," Jisung clarified.
Felix waved at Minho. "My bet is on one of the debate team sunbaes."
Chan rolled his eyes, but complied, "I bet that his boyfriend already graduated which is why we don't see him around. No one specific."
Hyunjin scoffed. "That's because you're not confident in your guess, hyung. You've got to get more specific if you want to win all the money."
"I still think Seungmin is dating Younghyun hyung," Changbin said.
Chan made a face somewhere between disgust and intrigue. "Hyung would have told me if they were."
Jisung raised his hand. "I think it's Minhyukie hyung personally. Or like, anyone from the radio internship Seungmin did in freshman year."
"That includes Younghyun hyung!" Changbin argued.
"Then we share the money if it's not either of them, idiot," Jisung said, "As long as we beat out everyone else."
Changbin sighed. "Okay fine, I'll also say it's someone from the radio internship Seungminnie did."
"I think it's Jongho from the Music Program." Hyunjin shared.
"He's not a sunbae?" Jisung asked.
"Seungmin could be tricking us again," Hyunjin argued, which sent the rest of the room into serious contemplation.
"And I think this is all dumb," Jeongin declared, "which is why I'm managing the money."
Seungmin took his face out of his hands to look at Jeongin incredulously. "You? Managing money?"
"Hey!"
Minho laughed, his entire faced scrunched up in glee. "Where do I write my guess?" he asked.
Seungmin whined, "Hyung, not you too!"
Minho jabbed Seungmin's leg with his foot. "Lighten up, Kim Seungmin."
Jeongin held up his phone, notes app open. "I have everything on record since Seungmin hyung isn't participating."
"Well of course I'm not participating, you're ganging up on me." Seungmin scoffed. "It's seven against one here."
"Like always," Jisung said mischievously. Seungmin turned around, fist ready in Jisung's direction, but Felix pulled Seungmin back down to properly cuddle. Seungmin huffed but shifted around to be more comfortable.
"Are you actually mad?" Felix asked, eyes wide and kind of sad.
Seungmin deflated. "Not really." He tucked himself further around Felix, resting his cheek against Felix's neck. He glanced up at Minho who had his scheming face on. "I'm being difficult because it's funny, but you all should know who he is by now. I gave you a good amount of hints."
"Give me the run down," Minho said, "I want to know what hints you guys collected."
Hyunjin counted off his fingers as he spoke. "It's a guy, mostly likely a sunbae but also could not be—"
"You have the worst guess!" Jisung interrupted.
"—but definitely goes to or went to our school, all of 3racha know who he is, but Seungmin didn't confirm if any of the rest of us know who he is. He also hung out with Seungmin around his birthday because that's when they got together so that makes it more likely he goes to our school, and…" Hyunjin thought about it for a second. "No, I think that's it."
"We need more information," Changbin said, before turning to Seungmin, "How often do you meet? Why don't we see him around?"
"Is it because he graduated already like Channie hyung said?" Felix asked.
"Wait don't answer that," Hyunjin interrupted, "Hyung can't change his guess."
"Ah why?" Chan complained in the middle of a laugh.
"Okay okay, I had a thought," Minho said. Hyunjin and Jisung leaned forward in anticipation. Jeongin brought his phone closer, ready to type. Minho glanced at Seungmin. "What if his boyfriend is just possessive? He doesn't want to show off their relationship around Seungminnie's friends, so he's just not around?"
Huh. Seungmin wanted to catch Minho's gaze again, to question why he's saying this. Then Minho's neck started flushing red. Seungmin hid his grin into Felix's shirt. Possessive? Maybe Minho did have a reason for not telling their friends about their relationship.
"Valid guess," Hyunjin muttered, scratching his nose.
"Doesn't really count though? Are we counting bets about character, or is that too mean?" Jisung asked Jeongin.
Jeongin shrugged.
Minho hummed. "Okay, a better bet. Seungminnie's boyfriend is good-looking."
"Of course he has to be good-looking," Changbin said.
Jisung rolled his eyes. "You're just messing with us now, hyung."
Oh, Minho was definitely having fun, Seungmin could tell. The tilt to his grin, the loose arm around Jisung's shoulders, the sly glances he would send Seungmin's way that nobody but Seungmin was picking up on. He really wanted the other guys to raise his ego without them knowing. Simultaneously annoying and hilarious.
Minho winked. "Of course. I don't care about the money, do whatever."
"Just not interested?" Hyunjin asked.
"I have no interest in Kim Seungmin," Minho said, obviously lying (at least obvious to Seungmin). Hyunjin looked hurt on Seungmin's behalf. Seungmin just laughed.
A ping on Chan's phone caused all heads to turn to him. "Oh, food's here," he said and stood up to go get it. Changbin followed to help him out. The rest of them unfolded from their comfortable positions to grab utensils and plates except Seungmin and Felix who stayed tangled up on the floor.
As Minho stood up, he put a heavy hand on Felix's head and ruffled his hair. Seungmin leaned his head closer to Minho's hand. Minho lightly bopped Seungmin's forehead with his palm instead.
Eventually, they all gathered around the dining table, all the food set up. When it's just Seungmin, Felix, and Jeongin here, they rarely used the table since they didn't really eat all at the same time. They could have gotten rid of it, but with how often everyone ended up hanging out in their place, they just decided to keep the table.
Absentmindedly, Minho served Seungmin first, picking out a drumstick from the box and placing it on his plate. Seungmin muttered a small, "Thanks." As Minho continued distributing the chicken and packs of instant rice (because it's so good to indulge in K Fried Chicken when more than half the room is stressed out of their mind), Seungmin caught Changbin looking at him weirdly. Seungmin raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Minho hyung gave you one of the drumsticks," he said, almost awed.
"Hyung must like you a lot recently," Hyunjin said, then raised his hands in fear as Minho held his chopsticks threateningly in his direction.
Seungmin let out a 'heh'. "That's one way to put it."
Jeongin tilted his head, visibly confused.
Minho pointed his very much used, chili-covered chopsticks at Seungmin. "I'll poke these in your eyes."
Seungmin batted his eyelids. "You promise?"
The others burst into scattered laughter, Changbin and Hyunjin's giggles overpowering the rest. Minho jabbed Seungmin's shoulder with his elbow as he sat down. Seungmin grasped his shoulder and bit his fist like it was the worst pain imaginable. Minho pinched his side before Seungmin finally stopped.
"Eat," Minho ordered.
"I'll eat well~"
The rest chorused the same, and they dug in. These little moments, this banter, they never changed, not really. It's laughable how close their friends were getting to the truth without actually reaching any conclusion. But for now, Seungmin set aside any thoughts of the bet or the Plan. He just enjoyed the food, Minho's thigh pressing against his below the table.
The reveal happened like this, around 3 weeks after the Plan started. And really, technically, nobody figured it out. Nor did Seungmin or Minho directly tell anyone. In fact, there was zero thought of the Plan at the time.
Midterms had just finished as well as onboarding for the newbies on Minho's dance crew, and Seungmin wanted to celebrate by finally spending more time with Minho. Their honeymoon phase was still going strong, and Seungmin wanted to take advantage of that as much as possible. So the second Minho opened his apartment door, Seungmin pushed him in, spun him around and pressed him against the door with his own body.
Minho grabbed the front of Seungmin's shirt and grinned up at him. "Needy puppy," he cooed.
"For you? Always," Seungmin murmured and kissed him.
Minho sighed against his lips. Hands came up to cup Minho's cheeks, to deepen that kiss just a little more. Minho pushed Seungmin toward the couch, which really had seen too much at this point. He toppled Seungmin over the couch and laid down on top of him, their lips never leaving one another.
Minho pulled back to take a large breath. He looked down at Seungmin, smug. "I caught you."
He did, and Seungmin was already wrecked. He rucked up Minho's shirt, hands traveling up to hold his pecs. He felt like the dog everyone called him, salivating at the thought of his boyfriend's warm skin under his hands and mouth. But Minho had other plans.
Deftly, Minho unbuttoned Seungmin's shirt, pushing the sleeves down his shoulders. Seungmin got up onto his elbows to help him completely take the shirt off. Satisfied, Minho pressed his hands onto Seungmin's chest. Seungmin's chest wasn't much to look at really. Nothing like Minho's chest—broad and strong and biteable. But Minho seemed to love Seungmin's chest and what little muscle existed there. He leaned down and bit down on Seungmin's collarbone, soothing the mark his teeth made with his tongue.
Seungmin roughly exhaled. "Who's the puppy now?"
Minho grinned against his collarbone. "Still you." And dove right back down.
Seungmin held Minho's head closer. His hands covered the back of Minho's head, not quite pushing him down and not pushing him away. He brushed away Minho's hair from his dark, inviting eyes. He probably needed a haircut. But this was nice too, watching the way his hair curtained his eyes, framing his face, like a piece of master art work.
Minho held eye contact as he slowly licked his way down Seungmin's torso, leaving rapidly darkening bite marks as he went. One at his collarbone, above his nipple, below his pec, to the left of his unimpressive but existent abs. Eventually, both Minho's lips and hands skimmed the top of his pants, warm and teasing. He bit especially hard just above the waistband making Seungmin hiss. The curve of Minho's smirk felt like a brand on Seungmin's skin.
Seungmin beckoned Minho up. "Kiss me," he demanded. Surprisingly without complaint, Minho complied, though his hands lingered at Seungmin's hips.
A tug at Seungmin's pants. "Off?" Minho asked against his lips.
Seungmin breathed out a soft "Yes."
Minho tugged down Seungmin's pants leaving him in only his everyday boxer briefs. Seungmin shivered at the cooler air on his bare thighs. Minho gently caressed Seungmin's knee.
"You too." Seungmin tugged at the edge of Minho's shirt.
Minho sat up. In one swift move, Minho pulled off his shirt and let it drop to the floor. Seungmin had his own fill of gazing hungrily at Minho's bare torso before Minho leaned back down to kiss him. He hissed and bucked his hips as Minho pressed a hand against his the tent in his pants. But his touch was light, teasing, almost there but not quite. Seungmin bucked his hips closer, desperate.
"Hyu—ung."
Minho danced the fingers of his free hand up Seungmin's ribs while the other shamelessly felt up Seungmin over his underwear. "Yes, Seungmin-ah?"
"If you don't stop teasing…" Seungmin let the warning hang in the air.
Grinning, Minho lifted Seungmin's thighs onto his shoulders, dragging Seungmin closer. He placed a tender kiss to the inside of Seungmin's thigh. Then both his hands gripped Seungmin's ass, and he sucked at the head of his cock through the cotton. Seungmin let out a strangled moan, nearly choking. A hand flew to the back of the couch, holding tightly like he could piece himself back together with the sheer force of his grip on the fabric. This was how Seungmin died.
Minho swiped his tongue over the cotton. Even through the barrier, Seungmin whined at the warmth, legs shaking on Minho's shoulders. He pulled back, a trail of spit connecting his lips back to the wet fabric. He rummaged through his pocket and victoriously pulled out a condom and a packet of lube (flavored).
Seungmin shot him an unimpressed look. "Really?"
Minho hummed. "At least I don't have to get up to get anything now, unless…" He started to pull away, but Seungmin crossed his ankles and pulled him back.
Seungmin pouted at Minho's delighted laugh. "I could knee you in the face right now," he warned.
Minho poked Seungmin in the center of his stomach making him jolt. He let down Seungmin's legs and, finally, tugged Seungmin's boxer briefs off. There was a bit of a struggle to get them off Seungmin's legs completely, but once they got that done, Minho settled back between his legs. He stared hungrily at Seungmin's erection, long enough to get Seungmin squirming.
"Hyung," he complained, feeling his face heat up even more, "Touch me already."
"Needy~" But Minho tore open the lube packet and directly poured it on Seungmin's cock. The rest dripped down past his sac to pool on the couch. Seungmin tensed up and nearly sat up at the coldness, but Minho soothed him back down with his other hand on his leg.
Finally, because Seungmin was going to kill Minho right here and now if he didn't move faster, Minho wrapped his hand around Seungmin's cock, smearing the lube and pre-cum mix over the head. Seungmin's head fell back further, and he let out a strangled groan. He had been waiting so long, been vibrating out of his skin since earlier this evening.
Then, a beep and the front door unlocked. Both of their heads snapped to the opening door. Seungmin's heart plummeted.
"Surprise Minho hyung! We brought drin—"
"Get out!" Minho yelled, scrambling for something to cover Seungmin's lap. Seungmin was just able to reach for Minho's discarded shirt to hide his crotch, also covering Minho's lubed hand that was still lightly grasping Seungmin's dick.
"Hey, that's not very nice—"
Felix cut himself off, freezing at the doorway. Behind him, Chan and Jeongin bumped into each other like dominoes. Jeongin peeked over Felix's shoulder and screamed.
"I told you to get out!" Minho screeched this time, voice cracking in embarrassment.
Seungmin covered his burning face. Minho thankfully let go of Seungmin's dick which still made Seungmin do a full-body shudder—mortifying.
"You're fucking?!" Felix sputtered in English. Jeongin was deflating like a balloon behind him.
"Just shout it in the hallway why don't you," Minho hissed. Seungmin wants to crawl into a hole and die.
Chan looked alarmed, looked into the apartment, turned bright red, and immediately started ushering the other two away. "Oh my God! I mean, I'm sorry, we're just gonna wait outside, sorry, Jesus—" The front door closed behind him. Only the sounds of Minho and Seungmin's ragged breathing filled the air, less sexy now and more fear-charged.
Seungmin peeked through his fingers. He watched the door warily, but it didn't open again. But the others were definitely still outside by the muffled, frantic talking he could hear. "I don't think they're gonna leave."
"Fuck them." Minho ran his non-lubed hand through his hair in frustration. His cheeks, neck, and ears were an alarming shade of red. He looked how Seungmin felt.
Seungmin sighed. The arousal was nearly gone, replaced by a winding down mortification. He pulled back and sat up, making a face when his still half-hard cock brushed against Minho's shirt. "I'm going to shower."
"Why are you throwing me to the wolves?" Minho whined, "You started this."
Seungmin didn't respond, just bending down to quickly picked up their scattered clothing. Minho smacked Seungmin's bare butt, and he yelped, turning around and glaring at Minho. He practically ran to Minho's bedroom to avoid his annoying boyfriend's butt smacks. He grabbed a plain black shirt from the closet, opened the door and threw it at Minho's face.
"There. New shirt."
Minho grumbled, and Seungmin closed the bedroom door again. With a world-weary sigh, he smacked his head against the wall. Of all times for their friends to visit, Seungmin just happened to be buck naked in the living room. Seungmin needed a shower. The lube on his lower half was feeling more uncomfortable than anything, and he really just needed to lower his body heat or he would explode.
One quick shower later, Seungmin left Minho's bedroom, hair damp and towel over his shoulders. There was nobody in the living room, but Seungmin pivoted when he heard voices in the kitchen.
Minho was against the counter, shoulders basically to his ears and still as a statue. On the other side of it was Felix, hands planted on the counter, staring down Minho. Further in the kitchen, Jeongin was eating chips, and Chan had his head in his hands.
"So is this casual?" Felix asked, "or are you seriously dating him?" Felix looked surprisingly focused, voice deeper with solemnity. Minho crossed his arms, hackles raised. On the other hand, Minho looked…embarrassed wasn't the right word here. Defensive? Seungmin wasn't sure why.
"Not that we don't trust you, hyung," Jeongin added in between mouthfuls of chips, "but, well…"
"But what?" Minho asked impatiently.
"We've seen how your previous relationships went," Jeongin finished bluntly, "And this is Seungmin hyung we're talking about."
Minho scowled even harder.
Seungmin cleared his throat and four heads turned to him. Minho's shoulders relaxed, and he uncrossed his arms. Felix backed down. Seungmin could practically see cat ears flatten on his head. "Hyung and I are actually dating, Yongbok-ah," Seungmin said. He glanced at Minho before adding, "Seriously. Long-term. With intentions of marriage."
"Marriage?!" chorused both Jeongin and Minho, both their eyes bulging out of their heads.
Seungmin nodded solemnly. "All that sappy stuff."
Chan laughed, a little watery. Oh no, Seungmin made him emotional. "You can't even get married here."
Seungmin shrugged, looking much more casual than he felt. "We can just go to Australia. We have you and Felix to show us around, and I can speak English."
"I can't speak English, idiot. How are we going to live in Australia?" Minho choked out, just to be contrary.
"You have enough time to learn before I propose to you," Seungmin retorted.
Minho's ears burned bright red again, and Seungmin was happy to put that blush there. Minho practically stomped over, grabbed the towel around Seungmin's shoulders and jammed it onto Seungmin's head, covering his face, before he scrunched his hair around. "Don't look at me. You're going to get sick with damp hair," he muttered angrily.
Seungmin knew his tone. It meant Minho was processing an Abnormal Emotion. It was adorable. Minho's lack of protest on the topic of marriage also said everything that needed saying, at least in Seungmin's eyes.
"I can't even see you under here, what do you mean 'don't look at you?'" Seungmin snarked. Minho just ruffled his hair harder.
"Oh no," Felix whispered, horrified, "They're cute."
"They're disgusting is what they are," Jeongin said, taking another handful of chips to shove into his mouth.
Chan smiled. "I think it's sweet."
"Why are you in my house?" Minho asked, and Seungmin pulled the towel off his face.
Jeongin and Chan raised the previously unseen plastic bags, one clearly of a few cans of beer, and the other takeout from a local restaurant. Seungmin is delighted to see it's Korean food. Jeongin explained, "Felix hyung and I were bored and done with midterm projects, so we wanted to hang out here and invited Chan hyung 'cause he was free tonight too. We were going to invite Seungmin hyung too, but. Well…"
Seungmin smiled sheepishly. Minho sighed. "Well you're here now."
"I am not sitting on that couch," Jeongin said, pointing out the kitchen door.
Minho rolled his eyes. "I cleaned it. Still feel free to sit on the floor."
Felix wilted when Minho's gaze wavered over him. "Sorry I sounded mad…I really wasn't I was—"
"You were worried, I get it," Minho said, though he still sounded a little off. Seungmin didn't know how, he couldn't even begin to understand the ways Minho's mind worked.
Seungmin nudged Minho's shoulder with his own and smiled. "No getting stuck in your head. That's my job."
"There's nothing in your head," Minho retorted immediately, though he did start to sound like usual.
Seungmin took Minho's hand. Just to hold him. To reassure him that Seungmin was on his side, and maybe to reassure himself that this was a good idea at all. He didn't need to say much after that as Minho just grumbled and slumped against Seungmin's side. "We're moving to the living room so you can ask your questions," Seungmin declared to the others.
Felix nodded and followed, squeezing Minho's other hand as he walked past. Jeongin immediately pulled out his phone, muttering about the betting pool. Chan grabbed all the bags and placed them on the kitchen counter, but he shot Seungmin and Minho an adoring smile.
This was going to be one long interrogation. Seungmin couldn't wait to laugh at everyone with Minho after this was all over.
