Summary:

A reworking of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" to be worked as a kind of (prayer/negotiation attempt) from Kiri to Eywa begging her to spare Spider's life. More specifically, the Mindy Smith ft. Dolly Parton cover of said song, which can be found here:

Notes:

A few notes:

*"M'Eywa" here is used as a contraction of "Ma Eywa". There doesn't seem to be any canon indication that such a contraction exists, but i chose it for better lyrical flow.
*Spider being "So gracious and dear" to Kiri is a reference to the meaning of his name. While an exact meaning isn't certain, one possible meaning relates to the Slavic name element "Milŭ" ; a word that means "gracious, dear"
*I chose the Mindy Smith version for three reasons: 1) it's the first version of the song I ever heard, 2) the ethereal quality of the song seems to imply that Jolene is a supernatural entity that will steal away the singer's man rather than a regular woman who's out to seduce the singer's lover (fitting for Eywa'eveng's air trying to take away Spider's life), and 3) supposedly it's Dolly Parton (who sings backup vocals)'s favorite cover version of the song.
*This prose reworking of a Dolly Parton song is a gift to Miranda_Cienfuegos, whose Spiri stories "Intertwined, Sewn Together" and "Keep Me in the Warmth of Your Love" depict the two's realtionship as something soul-deep, steady, faithful, certain, and above all else, utterly beautiful, and was a major inspiration for the tone of this piece.
