Can we talk for a second about how the league is behaving? I would be ashamed not to speak out and support someone who has won for YEARS.

You're absolutely right. The New York team has behaved wonderfully, according to what I saw on social media. Of course, we don't know what happens behind closed doors, but all his teammates, according to the cup announcement, congratulated him on his achievement and gave him their support. I think his team, at least, is tolerant and friendly towards the community.

His team is fantastic, they've never been known for being unpleasant on the ice. Sure, there have been players, but they eventually left the team over the years. I imagine Hunter, as captain, was always strict about what was said on the ice.

In short, the league behaved horribly. There was very little applause during his speech, and videos surfaced of a goalkeeper, I think from Montreal, storming out of the room when Hunter received his award, and nobody said a word. In previous years, when a player behaved badly, we've seen the league penalize them. I think everything that's happening is appalling. I sincerely hope Hunter is okay and that next season isn't terrible for him.

We all know this is a sport, but this is the biggest league, and they're not going to defend one of their players? Especially Scott Hunter, who's been a topic of discussion for years. By not acknowledging what happened with Scott Hunter and his boyfriend, they're implying they don't approve. I'd be ashamed. We all know the sports culture is disgusting; a lot of nonsense is said on the ice, not to mention all the cases of players committing crimes and being covered up by high-ranking NHL officials.

I hope this helps the league realize what's going on; they still haven't said anything about Scott Hunter. I hope it was an isolated incident and that there won't be any more situations where another player is disrespected, especially at an awards ceremony, where you're not on the field. Me too, girl! I always feel this way when Hollander and Rozanov face off, but with his coming out, the rumors and videos from awards night about the Metro goalkeeper, and all the news accounts making a bigger mess of things, it's making my stomach churn.

Ugh, yes, news outlets and crazy fans are the worst combination. By the way, does anyone know anything about Rozanov's visa? I've seen some strange posts from Russia; if I'm not mistaken, it's illegal there.

Finally someone's talking about it. I've seen everyone speculating about the season and nobody remembers that Rozanov is Russian, but I think he's got his visa sorted out because he came out of the closet without any problem (I mean, he came out on his own and wasn't forced).

Well, I sincerely hope he does well and doesn't have any problems. I'm grateful to Hunter and Rozanov. I played in the minor leagues, but I had a lot of problems with my teammates because I had a boyfriend. In the end, I quit hockey because it was too toxic an environment. I can't imagine what it must be like for them in the NHL. I hope this helps improve hockey culture. Much love to queer people, take care, and don't be afraid to love. ❤️

Excuse me? Did we see the same thing? I know perfectly well that hockey is a violent sport, but what happened in this game was intentional and a hate crime. There has always been tension between the two teams, but this went too far. The hit and the way he did it were completely inappropriate. Even Hollander, his own captain, was shaken. Hits like that are not trivial, and they shouldn't be underestimated. Hits like that can end a career. I find it appalling that so many people are defending him.

It's a shame the NHL hasn't made a statement yet. They should be ashamed.
