Chapter Text
Sun dissociates, looking out to the ocean from a ship, blocking out all the sounds of the elite speaking around him. “Sunny, what do you see out there? Hm~?” One of them asked bringing him back to reality, he looks at the one who asked, the one who asked is smirking and looks as insufferable as always, “nothing, I’m just looking at the ocean” Sun responds plainly making the one who asked scoff a bit, “clearly something has your attention out there, do you want to go swim, show off your amazing ability to hold your breath for an unusual amount of time?” They spoke in a slightly cocky tone, Sun rolls his eyes and shakes his head, going back to watching the ocean. He feels as if something is going to happen, an impending sense of doom if you will.
And as if on queue, Sun spots a massive wave heading towards the ship, Sun immediately rushes to get everyone’s attention but the wave hits the ship sending him falling over, panic ensues, the group he was travelling with rush to the lifeboats as the ship starts to sink, Sun gets up. His self preservation says to go find the group he was with and leave with them but he notices a lot of people are having trouble getting to the life boats, Sun immediately jumps into action, helping people to the life boats as the staff of the ship abandon the ship.
Sun does a once over of the ship that is sinking, making sure no one else is on the ship, he is relieved to find no one trapped anywhere Sun is about ready to head back up to the deck of the ship to the lifeboats to enter them but as he does he hears the ship make a groaning sound before he is tossed across the room he was in, from what it felt like it was another big wave hitting the ship, Sun reoriented himself before starting to rush to the deck only to realise the water is rising much faster than before. He is almost to the deck when a sudden rush of water from the deck pushes him back, throwing him against a wall. Sun soon holds his breath as he feels the ship sink, submerging him, he proceeds to try and get out of the ship.
Sun has to find another way out of the ship, as the ship flipped over trapping him, he every so often found very small air bubbles in bizarre places and took advantage of these bubbles when he felt he needed to breathe, which wasn’t too much, soon Sun locates a way out and proceeds to escape from the ship.
He reached the surface, expecting there to still be lifeboats and for it to still be midday, but he notices the sun is either setting or rising and no lifeboats are seen. Sun looks around frantically, for anyone, any boat or any island, he spots trio of rocky spires in the distance and proceeds to start swimming to them.
Sun watches the sun as it rises, had he really been down there for so long? Sun sighs, he’s going to die on this island, he won’t make it through the week, no food and no water on the trio of islands. Sun hears some splashing, he looks at the water and sees a creature called water folk curiously looking up at him, perhaps confused on what he is doing here, Sun remembers his fathers warnings about water folk and to never speak to water folk, but Sun knows he will die so why not speak to the water folk, it’ll at least keep him sane. Sun waves at the water folk with a smile, “hi, I’m Sun, sorry if I’m invading your territory, I’m kinda stuck here” Sun spoke ending with a nervous laugh, the water folk watching him tilts their head before waving back. Perhaps Sun will die surrounded by friends.
Sun is dreaming, it’s a memory that he is dreaming of, the fight he had with his dad and twin brother Moon, their yelling and cursing, Sun trying to tell them that he wants to live his own life while his dad and Moon tells him that the life they want him to live is far more safer than what he wanted, his other brothers and sister just quietly and nervously watching as the fight escalated and Sun stormed off to his room. Sun woke up before the memory of running away came up, Sun lays on the rocks, that was three years ago now, Sun’s been here for a few days now and as he just stares at the sky he can’t help but think ‘perhaps I wouldn’t be where I am now if I listened to them?’. Sun feels a wet, webbed hand gently grab his arm, Sun looks over at the water, a water folk that keeps coming back, Sun weakly waves at the water folk before it tentatively hands him a water bottle, Sun blinks in slight confusion on how it got a water bottle before he remembers that everyone is told to throw water bottles filled with water at water folk to scare them off as there is no risk of accidentally killing one and getting the anger of a bunch of them. Sun weakly takes the water bottle and sees the seal isn’t broken yet, he struggles but succeeds in opening it before he drinks it all down, he almost starts crying in relief at being given water, the water folk gently rubs his back in an attempt to comfort him.
Weeks, it’s been a week since he got stranded here, the water folk keep him sane and bring him the essentials he needs to survive. No other ships have gone past, he sighs, “I wish I was at least stranded somewhere with shade and fresh water” Sun thought out loud with a sigh, the water folk that constantly visits him that he’s learnt is called KC, looks up at him as he thought out loud. “Me take you to place” he spoke, Sun looks at him, KC has been the main one feeding and giving him hydration, perhaps he should go with him. He eases himself into the water, KC’s fins flutter excitedly as he wraps his arms around Sun and starts swimming to somewhere while holding Sun close, Sun holds his breath while underwater but KC often stops to let him breathe. ‘I wonder where he’s taking me?’ Sun wonders.
The sun has started setting by the time KC took him to where he was taking him, a deserted island with many trees, Sun looks around as he checks out the beach, KC walking behind him clumsily due to rarely being out of the water, “like? You like?” He asks just before tumbling over, Sun looks at him and laughs a bit, “yes I like, thank you” he spoke with a small smile, KC’s fins flutter again and his tail thwacks against the ground happily. “Now I just need to make some shelter so I don’t get rained on when it rains” Sun spoke as he started investigating the trees, “cave, I know where cave is! Cave good!” KC spoke as he flailed back on to his feet, Sun looks at him, “follow!” KC spoke as he lead the way, Sun followed.
Solar sits at his desk, he owns a semi successful business where they raise sunken ships and boats. The bell at his door rings as a rich looking man comes in and takes a seat without being prompted, “you’re the boss of this company, yes?” The man asks with a cocky tone, “yes I am, what can I do for you, make it quick because I was supposed to be on break hours ago” he spoke, he is busy with paper work which is why he hadn’t taken his break. “Well you see, my ship had sunken out near the trio spires over in the northern part of these seas, I want you to find and raise it as soon as possible!” The man spoke with confidence as he slid over a brief case filled with hundred dollar bills, “any bodies I need to retrieve off of the ship?” He sighed as he grabbed out new paper work to get the details on what to look for, “ah yes, one body, from what I heard they were quite heroic, saved everyone else from the sinking ship but couldn’t get out themself” he said, sliding a picture of the deceased over. Solar froze for a moment, ‘there’s no way, no way that’s’ Solar thinks as he regains his composure to look at the picture, the picture was of his brother, Sun, who had run away, ‘Sun…is dead’ he thinks as he looks at the man, he sighs, he can’t loose his composure here, he’s a professional, “what was the make of the ship and how long ago did it sink?”.
