Chapter Text
Sunlight shined through the treetops in the town of Coolsville. A gentle breeze blew through the air rustling the lush green leaves. Light shined through a glass pane window of orange painted building with a yellow sign with red lettering that read Malt Shop. Up on top was a big sign showing sand and waves and a glass drink with a straw.
Parked outside the malt shop was a brightly colored teal blue and green van adorned with orange daises and in bold orange letters Mystery Machine.
Becky had just moved to town and she didn’t know anyone. She was walking through town looking around when she spotted the Malt shop. She walked toward the Malt shop she was headed toward the door when she noticed the van parked outside. She stopped as she walked over to the van looking at it. She chuckled and smiled as she looked at the van. “Whoa cool van!” She walked on inside the malt shop.
Inside the Malt Shop sitting at a booth was a group of friends and their dog drinking pink lemonades and looking at newspaper, they were the group known as Mystery Inc or the meddlin kids.
Fred was sitting toward the center at the left holding the newspaper while drinking his pink lemonade. He glanced over at the overs with a smile. “Listen to this gang, Local fisherman Emmanuel was scared off by the vengeful sea spirit Fish- beast.”
Daphne was sitting in the center of the booth as she looked over at the paper sipping her pink lemonade. “Jeepers Freddy.”
Norville sat toward the end on the right slurping his pink lemonade. He paused as he gulped and looked up. “Zoinks! Fish-beast?”
Scooby stared as he slurped his pink lemonade and whimpered. “Rish-reast”
Velma sat on the other end of booth sipping her pink lemonade and pushed up her glasses. “Guys there is no such there as a fish beast. Probably just some story locals made up.”
Becky was walking over to get a table when she overheard talking about the monster. She stopped as she looked over as she approached their booth and raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me did I hear you say fish-beast?”
Fred glanced up from the newspaper as he smiled and sipped his lemonade. “Hey there yeah you did.”
Daphne smiled as she looked at Becky and sipped her lemonade. “It's probably just another crook in a costume.”
Velma nodded as she smiled and pushed up her glasses and sipped her lemonade. “More than likely.
Fred smiled as he looked at Becky. “I don’t recall seeing you around before. Are you new in town?”
