Work Text:

When Jimin came back from having his afternoon tea with the other omegas of the neighbourhood, the sun had already sunk behind the horizon.

He watched as the tall trees of the Min’s domain went by before his eyes, not quite realizing how harshly he was nipping his bottom lip. He clapped his hands together in an attempt to contain his nervousness.

His footman opened the door of the carriage with a bow and a young servant took care of his coat and gloves at the door. He inhaled deeply as he stepped into the majestic hall of the house, letting the now familiar combination of his and his husband’s scents soothe him.

Never before had there been a scent which had calmed him so quickly.

Never one which had ever felt like home.

Jimin had only married two months before. His fate had not felt so blessed then since, it being an arranged marriage, he had met the alpha for the first time at the altar. He smiled as he crossed the hall to their dining room. Life truly had its way to surprise him.

Yoongi was already sitting at the table, writing some letter between his plate and a piece of bread. He had discarded his jacket as he often did at home when he was not expecting any visitor.

“Please, forgive me for my lateness,” Jimin said softly so as not to startle him. “I fear we all lost track of time.”

“It is no bother,” Yoongi smiled at him while putting the letter away. “I just came down from my study.”

Jimin had barely sat down that their first course was brought to them by quiet servants.

“Did you enjoy yourself?” his husband asked.

“I did,” Jimin answered, perhaps too quickly. Speaking of tea reminded him of his nervousness and of the origin of it, slightly spoiling his appetite.

Yoongi gazed at him with a faint smile. “You smell nervous. Are you certain you are well?”

“I am well!” Jimin blushed profusely. “It is only…” He hesitated an instant before deciding it was a subject he ought to bring up in a more private place. “Only some weariness.”

There was no doubt his husband knew he was lying by the way his gaze lingered on him but the alpha did not push. Instead, he shifted their conversation towards the impending visit of one of his omega siblings, which Jimin was glad to discuss, if anything to give a rest to his rosy cheeks.

Jimin had been puzzled at first by the ease of conversation and the peacefulness which had filled their evenings. Min Yoongi was not only young, handsome and capable of great wit, but he was also a kind man who smiled easily and never scolded anyone in the house, be it his omega or their staff.

Intimacy ーa word which had haunted every one of Jimin’s nightmares ahead of his marriageー had been just as easy. Yoongi had not pushed and, although Jimin would have been quite ashamed to admit it, it had been the omega who at first had encouraged affection between them.

Now more than ever he felt ashamed of it, the conversation he had had around tea still fresh in his mind as he was being undressed and clothed in his nightgown.

He entered their bedroom somewhat shy but could not contain a sigh of happiness when he slipped into their shared bed, which was by now completely infused with their scents. Taking advantage of his husband not having arrived yet, he nuzzled into the alpha’s pillow and let his body be turned pliant by the delicious scent there.

Still, he worried his lip between his teeth, wondering yet again in which way he should address the issue that had been bothering him all afternoon. He feared the alpha’s anger though he did not have any reason to do so except perhaps that the alphas he had known before had been quick to throw their wrath around.

Yoongi came in and entered their bed as he always did and Jimin felt himself getting ready for his favourite evening ritual.

It always started with a smile and Yoongi gently taking his hand. “Would you allow me to scent you, my dear?”

Jimin nodded eagerly. He let his head rest against his pillow and offered his neck to the alpha’s penetrating eyes. Like everything he did, Yoongi scented him with care, running his nose and lips along his neck, brushing against his scent gland and yet never lingering, at least not at first.

His smaller hands clutching the alpha’s shoulders, Jimin let his eyes fall close and concentrated on the tingly sensations running through his body. His husband’s scent wrapped around him, possessive and unwavering. Jimin knew then that there was no safest place on Earth.

A scrap of teeth against his scent gland made him whine quietly before a warm kiss on the sensitive skin let him know that the moment was over.

Fluttering his eyes open, all Jimin could see was his husband’s endeared smile.

“You smell lovely as always, my dear. Would you mind?”

The alpha crooked his neck in a clear indication of his desire of being scented back and Jimin answered with a quick nod which made the man chuckle. His husband lied down and offered his neck, his eyes never leaving his omega for a second.

Jimin was always shy at first, barely daring to come closer while his fingers grabbed the alpha’s nightgown, but it never took long before he was losing any control he ever had over himself. He kissed the alpha’s neck, tiny whimpers escaping his lips as if to match the low growls of the man under him. He made sure to cover him with his scent, taking pride in doing a proper job until he felt too breathless to go on.

Then Yoongi kissed him with whispered praises and blew out the candle.

Jimin laid on his side of the bed, feeling content and yet wishing that the alpha would pull him close instead of simply throwing an arm around his waist. Tonight, this arm seemed to burn his skin through his nightwear, as if to remind the omega of the shameful secret he had been carrying all evening.

Multiple times he had wanted to ask the question which was burning his tongue and multiple times he had failed to do so. Now, in the darkness of their bedroom, he felt he would not be able to find rest if he did not speak up.

He stared at the dark ceiling, turning the issue over and over in his head in an attempt to find the perfect words to articulate it.

“Dearest, you are not sleeping.” Yoongi’s deep voice startled Jimin out of his thoughts.

“I apologize,” he stammered, although the alpha’s tone had not sounded accusatory.

“Is anything bothering you?”

“No! I mean, perhaps there is something,” Jimin blushed and thanked the darkness for providing a cover to his embarrassment. “But it is of no importance.”

“Anything that bothers you is of importance to me.”

Jimin felt the alpha move and then understood he was relighting the candle. Anxiety turned his scent bitter at the thought that he would not be able to avoid this conversation any longer.

“You can tell me everything,” Yoongi assured him, taking his hands in his after they had both sat up in the flickering light of the candle.

He waited. Jimin was torturing his lip again.

How could he even start?

“Well,” he said in a trembling voice, “this is just…you might have noticed, or maybe you have not, which would be better, of course. I mean…” He took a deep breath, both frustrated and terrified, before closing his eyes and blurting out: “I have experienced pinnacles.”

Yoongi blinked at him. “Pineapples?”

“Wh…no,” Jimin spluttered. “P-pinnacles.”

He wanted nothing more than disappear from this world when he saw the look of utter confusion in his husband’s eyes.

“I do not understand what you mean by pinnacle,” the alpha said oh so softly, as if he was afraid to scare the omega away.

Jimin frowned, sighing in frustration as he tried to find other words to describe it, feeling more and more annoyed at the lack of education he had received on the matter.

“Is it something you have discussed with the other omegas this afternoon?” Yoongi asked helpfully.

Jimin perked up. “Y-yes, it is. We discussed it because they were so worried about me…about marital duty. They said,” Jimin tried very hard to prevent his voice from quivering, “that I should not be worried, that it was perfectly normal to experience pain.”

He felt his husband react to those last words but did not dare to look up. He continued:

“They said alphas experience…pinnacles. But omegas do not and it can hurt and I felt horrible because I…I don’t feel any pain when we…it feels good and I thought it was normal ーbut do not worry now I know how wrong I was. And perhaps, if I am completely honest with you, I was scared to ask because I liked it so much, and now I realize I was greedy and wrong.”

He took a rushed inhalation, tears welling up in his eyes.

“As your omega, I vowed to always be loyal and honest to you and I am truly, truly sorry that I have failed you. I swear I did not know. Maybe now we can find a way to make those…pinnacles disappear.”

When he finally gathered the courage to look up, he found Yoongi looking speechless. It terrified him. Perhaps, the situation was much, much worse than he had imagined.

Then Yoongi blinked, his face scrunching up in a displeased expression.

“You mean pleasure? You experience pleasure when we mate?”

Jimin nodded, feeling even more ashamed at the sound of such crude words.

“This is perfectly normal, Jimin,” Yoongi said to Jimin’s surprise. He gently squeezed the omega’s hands. “I expect you to feel pleasure in those moments. I would feel terrible if you were to feel nothing, let alone pain. Dear God, I would never dare to touch you again.”

Jimin’s eyes widened in astonishment.

“Mating is supposed to feel good,” Yoongi continued. “It is supposed to be pleasant. Whatever those omegas told you is utterly untrue. Iー,” he sighed, shaking his head in disbelief. “The only hting I am understanding from your words is that the alphas of our neighbourhood are all outrageous scumbags.”

A nervous giggle escaped Jimin’s lips and at the sound of it, Yoongi’s anger seemed to melt slightly.

“I knew some alpha were selfish jerks who did not care about their omega’s pleasure but I did not know there were so many. But them being numerous does not mean they are right. You understand me, Jimin?”

Jimin nodded shyly, gripping Yoongi’s hands as if his life depended on it.

“So…it is normal to feel good?”

“Perfectly normal! From what I understand, our bodies are made so that both alphas and omegas can feel pleasure in mating. This is the natural way of things.”

A small smile forced its way to Jimin’s lips as a powerful wave of relief crashed into his heart, making his fingers quiver lightly.

“So, I am allowed to have pinnacles?”

Yoongi laughed heartily this time.

“I deeply encourage it, yes,” he said, then he lowered his voice, as if to confess a secret. “I must say they are in fact my favourite part. I live for it.”

Jimin was now feeling seriously flustered but he also realized more than ever how lucky he had been to marry such a carrying alpha. He felt nothing but horror for the way his fellow omegas were treated by their alphas.

“Althoughー,” Yoongi added, making Jimin’s heart anxiously skip a beat, “we should not use the word pinnacle from now on. Let us call it what it is, an orgasm. We are always safer using the right words, especially when speaking of such important matters.”

Jimin repeated the word orgasm, making it roll on his tongue. He liked it. It tasted like knowledge, like discovering a huge secret about himself.

Overwhelmed by love, he quickly slipped his hands out of his husband’s grip to throw them around his neck and pull him into a tight embrace. The alpha carefully cradled him on his lap, leaving tender kisses in his hair.

“Did anything else that was said bother you?” he asked gently.

Jimin shook his head, his nose brushing against the alpha’s scent gland on the side of his neck.

“Good. Thank you for telling me about this issue. I hope you can always feel comfortable confiding in me, dear.” He squeezed Jimin’s waist before adding: “And if you ever feel the desire to talk to another omega about this, please do not hesitate to write to my brothers. I like to think that Jungkook and Taehyung have married good alphas and they have more experience in marital matters than both of us.”

Jimin felt like crying again, but this time from sheer gratitude and affection.

He loved his husband.

It was not a matter they had yet discussed but he knew the day was near where he would finally dare to say the words and, hopefully, receive them in return. For now, he felt satisfied simply closing his eyes and letting sleep reach him where he was safely held in Yoongi’s arms.

The alpha blew out the candle before falling backwards on his pillow, the omega secured against his chest. Although Jimin was already drowsy, he smiled when he was easily turned around on his side and his back pressed against Yoongi’s chest. Their legs intertwined and two strong arms locked around his waist.

He felt a light brush of lips against his neck as Yoongi whispered good night to him.

This was what he had wished.

Everything he had ever wished for.
