Tags I couldn't find: Angry Killcode, hunting, food webs, unwanted anatomy lessons about not real stuff, The Eclipse trio aren't having fun, neither is Sun, or anyone in existence, Very angry Killcode, but also dadcode

This is a make-believe au I am rushing to make before I lose motivation but am trying not to rush, give all the criticism and theories you wish, I am happy say hello while I come up with horrifying shit :)

I cannot come up with cool poetic summaries, but search 'Japanese dwarf flying squirrel'

Notes:

Specific warnings include gore, dragon anatomy, Killcode and Bloodmoon bc they are murderous sillies, Sun gets tortured, wounds, waterboarding, and death

Yes, I know this is the first chapter and only 1k words, idk :)

I use some punctuation in this chapter some might not know because I'm autistic and standard punctuation confuses me with how open-ended it is:
Ɨ̣ - Certitude Point, absolute certainty about what is being said.
‽ - Interrobang, !?

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Sun stared at the predator that was now chasing him to where he was in the ocean, blood clouding the blue water.

This was bad. Very, very bad.

He had just wanted to go to the small amount of beach they had access to so that he can relax! Sun hadn't even done anything, not until he was attacked! He had been aware of the small dragon—though still large to practically everything because it is a dragon—but it had just been watching so Sun figured it was fine!

Apparently, it was not. Maybe he had accidentally crossed the border by a few feet without realizing it or something‽

Sun’s tail slapped against the surface as he dodged the other reptilian creature, who seemingly just straight up teleported right on top of him and sent Sun splashing in the shallow lagoon as he was blinded by bubbles. The already pink bubbles painfully turned red as claws, or maybe teeth, cut through his frills to add onto the other missing chunk from just a few seconds prior.

Very painful, would not recommend in the slightest.

Flailing as he tried to figure out where the hell the surface or better yet the dragon was, Sun gave a torrent of whatever spells he could come up with. Sun did manage to hit scales if the darker red color the water took was anything to go bye. What spell did he just use again?

It obviously did it's job better than the other ones, a screech filtering through the water and panic with ease.

The angry predator thankfully allowed Sun a ten second break for some unknown reason before jaws clamped shut around his ankle, thrashing him around like a crocodile would as they dragged him back onto land.

His breath hitched when he caught a glimpse of the floating head momentarily left behind to drift in the water.

Oh God…

Did Sun do that..?

He was dead. Sun was very much dead.

Wincing at the ear-piercing shriek followed by claws closing around his head tightly, the currently pinned lizard thrashed against the other set of claws raking down his back repeatedly, muddy—and now bloody—scales scraped off like they were just butter.

Sun yelped when he was suddenly back in the water, stirred up sand and water getting into his lungs before he could react and was promptly yanked back out harshly. A hiss was near his ear, but Sun couldn't really pick up what was being said over his scrambled thoughts and the roar of blood pounding behind his ears before he was shoved right back in.

He thought the dragon was supposed to just care about slaughtering, since when did it do impromptu torture‽

Wait no—

it's mad now, not just hunting.

That's why.

Sun could only choke on the water still in his lungs as he was forcefully offered another round of waterboarding. At some point the lizard stopped struggling without really realizing it, exhausted from the many wonderful gifts of hatred.

His new unwanted friend thankfully relinquished Sun from his duties by grabbing Sun by the frills again to hurl him back into the water.

Greeted by the sight of rapidly reddening bubbles again, Sun managed to locate the surface without violent help and gasped for air, coughing out water and sand and what might somehow be a tiny fish. He honestly had no idea if that was physically possible, nor did Sun know how he managed to force his body to move when it kept screaming pain at him.

Huh, he thinks his leg fell asleep somehow.

Risking a glance back up away from coughing treated Sun to being shoved back under the surface as the dragon lunged again, thankfully not inhaling anything this time.

Clawing at the hide, Sun grunted as his head got whacked by the tail, some sort of bulb bumping against his neck appendages before he felt the mud scrape against his open wounds.

Sun screamed at the pure agony he felt, hissing in pain as he thudded right back on land and claws stabbed into his abdomen and peeling back flesh, choking on air and saliva. Which of course prompted him to try and roll away which he immediately regretted, face bumping into red wetness.

It was the head. Oh dear God it was the head. The large eyes stared blankly at him, jaw wide open with a blackberry tongue limp against the ground and displaying two rows of teeth, the outer for latching while the inner was clearly built to crush.

Sun was almost thankful for being jerked backwards again, talons rubbing against the bloodied scales as if trying to save him from being dirtied.

“No touching! Don't deserve touchingƗ̣” Or it was saving the blood from being dirtied by him.

Satisfied with enough blood removed from Sun's scales, the talons swiftly switched to peeling them off instead with deliberate slowness. Sun whimpered before it morphed into another scream, twisting around and kicking the dragon in the stomach area—he was useless when it came to dragon anatomy, but it looks like where the stomach would be.

Taking advantage of the momentary freedom Sun scrambled up and fidgeted with his belt frantically until he pulled out his shortsword, ignoring the head to the best of his abilities. Just earlier that day Sun was thinking that he wouldn't need it and a plain dagger would work.

He was an absolute idiot, thank whatever deity was smiling down on him that made Moon convince him otherwise.

Sun slammed the blade forwards at the sound of heavy weight running at him, flinching at the squelch and gurgled hiss, before his sword was forced from his hands.

Sun reluctantly forced his eyes open from where they'd squeezed shut, falling backwards in terror and horror at the still conscious eyes glaring at him despite the sword impaled right below the head.

Pulling his legs back at teeth snapping shut near them, Sun stared as the dragon repeatedly pushed itself up only to fall again with whimpers and whines. He numbly studied the bleeding stump that once held the other head.

The trachea was still retracting and extending repeatedly with a sharp squeeze mixed in every few seconds, encouraging blood to spill from their streams whenever it did, though some were empty asides from air and water. The bone was jagged, edges sticking out with tissue and flesh hanging over it while blood continuously poured out. It all seemed to be partially covered by a thin mucus in the very least, clouding the visibility.

Sun wanted to throw up.

He forced himself to look at the living head, deciding it was the lesser of two evils. It had managed to curl around the removed head even though Sun was pretty sure that had caused the sword to be shoved all the way through. Trembles shook the creature as it hissed in and out air with clear difficulty, what might be whines or whimpers vaguely in the mix of near silent sounds.

Sun took a shaky breath, forcing himself to actually move despite the pain and grab the hilt. He shuddered at the hot blood covering his fist.

The dragon's eyes were closed now, a wet rumbling sound escaping the chest that was probably filling with blood as it curled tighter around the decapitated head. It made it harder to hold the sword, but Sun forced himself to yank with his remaining strength, hiccuping as the sounds almost immediately stopped. and soon later the slight movements of muscle.

There was no mucus affording him not seeing every detail of the death. The head thudding as the small flap of remaining skin and scales ripped felt like a death knell—which it technically was.

He just killed something.

Sun killed a living being.

He didn't really think as he walked away, mind silent and the pain of Sun's wounds not even noticed by himself. He should go home. Moon would be waiting for him, and he doesn't want his brother to worry.

Oh, he should go see if he can find some of those berries on the way! Yeah, that seemed like a great idea! Moon ate them all.

Sun giggled to himself—definitely not hysterical—at the thought of finding Moon groaning dramatically in the early morning because his stomach hadn't agreed with his choice.

He lost his ability to lie to himself at a low rumble echoing from across the lagoon, when Sun was opposite from the scene and several meters. Out of habit before he could process it, he looked.

The body was soaked with blood, completely limp as something blue moved around it before giant talons slowly curled around the two head and dragged the remnants of the dragon into the shadows of the red and black mangrove.

Dot eyes that were redder than the blood stared at Sun without blinking.

Sun ran.

Killcode thankfully did not chase.

Lunar's keening followed the guilty.

Bloodmoon didn't stir.

Notes:

Sorry, I had to have a reason for the plot. I'm mad at myself too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The fish was a baby bumblebee goby if anyone was wondering, it could be potentially be possible for them to be inhaled by a adult human but I'm not an expert.

I have managed to figure out Tumblr just enough to post references I have made if anyone wants to look at those:
