“I thought I told you we’d meet at the Square,” the man says gruffly. There’s a warning in his tone and a tight power in his shoulders that makes even Weiss, still looking away, want to punch him. “I don't need you waiting on me.”

“I’m really sorry,” she says, because it feels right, now, doesn’t it? She’s made the team worry so much. Her parents, too. Illia, her other friends. Some of the White Fang members—the ones with a good heart, who’ll never stray away from the true cause. Blake likes to pretend that nothing bothers her, that she’s indestructible, but really, she’s the smallest, dumbest, weakest thing ever. Adam was right. He was always right. “I’m really, really sorry, Yang.”
