“No, it’s okay, Tony,” Peter says. He unzips his backpack and stuffs Thor’s hammer into it. It stretches a bit but holds. “I’ll drop it off at the tower after school. I can’t just leave it where anyone can take it, that would be irresponsible.”
“Um, kid? Did you pick it up?”
“Yeah, why?” Peter shrugs his backpack onto one shoulder and starts kicking dirt into the hole that the hammer made from the impact of Thor’s throw.
“No reason,” Mr. Stark sounds strangled.

He choked on a gasp and squeezed his eyes shut as the memories began flooding all of his senses all at once, overwhelming every atom in his body with a warmth so intense he was melting. Every tear, every hug, every kiss planted to the kid's head, every anxious night spent worrying recklessly about the kid was coursing through his veins.
Tony's eyes snapped open in a heartbeat as he stared down at Peter like he was the most precious miracle to ever walk the Earth, Peter mirroring his intensity.

Ned’s portal isn’t closing and they’re standing right in front of it yelling at each other like a bunch of idiots. They’re going to get themselves killed, or Peter killed, or something worse. She doesn’t know what could be worse than death, but magic and the multiverse is real so anything is possible.
Instead of panicking in front of the portal that Ned can't close, Michelle and Ned run. With the La Macchina di Kadavus safe from the chaos and far away from any pumpkin bombs, the multiverse doesn't break and Peter Parker is not forgotten. It's funny how one decision can change the outcome. Sometimes running away from your problems is the only way to solve them. Sometimes you just have to run home.
